Hauser Heating & Air Conditioning

Service person arrived about 50 minutes late after they called my wife's phone (they were supposed to call my phone) and said they were about 15 minutes away. After they arrived, tech went to work and had the problem identified in about 5 minutes and fixed in about 20 minutes. He then took the time to vacuum out the water that had leaked into the furnace and on the floor in the utility room. I was very pleased to this point (except for being late). He was done with everything in just under an hour. Biggest issue was that he was initially going to charge me $199 (after the Angie's list coupon). When I asked why so much, he pulled out the pricing book and showed me charges from $75-$139 dollars for a PVC pipe clean. He had listed mine as complex and charged me the highest amount. I questioned how a problem that was identified in 5 minutes and fixed in 20 minutes could be considered "complex" to which he explained that it was only because he knew what he was doing. I again questioned the rate and was told that he would have to call the office. After talking with the office, they told him to reduce charge to standard rate plus time which ended up to be $114, which I thought was finally fair for the work performed.

UPDATE Nov 13: The coils on our air conditioner froze up over the summer. We called them out. They said to repair it was $3700. We were not comfortable with that so we called around and someone else gave a phone quote of $2400. We called them back and without hesitation they price matched it! WHAT?? Who overcharges someone by $1300? Then we had them come out to do the maintenance plan on our system. At the time, the technician said we needed to replace our entire unit, the humidifier was not working and there was another issue. I was in shock at the price and that I was hearing we need a whole new system when I thought I was getting maintenance service that day. I happened to have an electrician scheduled that day and he had a buddy in heating/cooling. I called them, they came out the same day and did not see any issue with our unit. It has been at least 6 months since that appointment and our system is working fine. I am not clear on their practices and if they are associated with one technician or the company but with the expenses they almost cost us, I am not sticking around with them to find out. Previous experience and review: They do a really good job. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough at a good price. They made recommendations and I liked him so much that I called him back to do the recommendations that he suggested.

Everything was fantastic. It was easy to set up with them. I used PayPal to pay for everything. They called to schedule the appointment. They showed up on time and it took them the amount of time to do the work that they said it would. They did a great job with installing everything. Their service technician, Mark, was great with communicating with us. He took his time to show me how to set up everything and how everything worked. He was very good explaining the function of the humidifier.

My current air conditioning system is nearing the end of it's useful life and I want to replace it proactively. Roy spent an hour or two evaluating the system replacement I wanted and I was quite optimistic at that point in time. Unfortunately there has not been a quote yet after several months. And, I have tried pretty hard. I called them multiple times and Roy was with a client and would call me back that day, ( He did not). Finally I spoke with Roy and he was just very busy and asked did I still want the work done. Of course I said yes- but that was months ago. I did ask that, if they could not perform the work, please refer me to another 100% satisfaction guaranteed carrier dealer. So today, I called Carrier and found out that ther are two in the area, Thomas & Galbraith HVAC and Bartels HVAC. I hope they can help

The installers from Hauser, (both named Justin) were very prompt, arriving at 8:30am when we were told between 8 AM and 9 AM. They were polite, professional and friendly. They were happy to answer any questions we had about the process. They had to reconfigure the cold air return into the blower which entailed replacing some of the duct work, replace the plumbing for the coolant and water drainage, and replacing the compressor. When they were done, everything was working perfectly, the area was cleaned up as well or better than when they arrived, and we have had no problems with the system in the last two weeks. We have been happy with Hauser throughout the process - from the quoting process where they came in prepared already knowing how large the house was and approximately what size compressor would be needed - to the installation and using the system. We were able to reprogram the thermostat to raise the temperature on the air conditioning within a few days because the new system is so much more efficient and makes the house more comfortable.

They were on time, and the gentleman phil was very nice and courteous. He looked at my AC completely and when he found the problem he fixed it right away & then sat down and explained it to me and showed me how to keep it from happening again. I would definitely use them again.

Roy Hauser came to my house to give me a quote on an A/C unit for my detached garage He said he would get back to me in a couple of days. When I did not hear form him I called the office and (of course) spoke with a receptionist. She indicated that Roy was with a customer and would get back to me. He never returned my call or sent me a quote. If he did not want the job he should have been up front with me right away. I wanted to go with a recommendation from Angie's List and I also wanted a local business to do the work. I have now lost 2 weeks trying to get the job done. This is the second company listed on Angie's List that did not respond. Ray St Claire Roofing was the other. ***UPDATE*** Excellent! This is a follow-up to a report I submitted on Hauser Heating and Air Conditioning on 6-17-2011. Shortly after submitting that report Roy Hauser called me. He was very apologetic and offered to give me a quote. I accepted and within one week the quote was accepted and the job completed. Roy himself oversaw the A/C installation every step of the way. I was more than satisfied with job and would recommend Hauser to anyone. His employees were knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. I was kept informed of each step of installation and my questions were answered in a way that I always had "that warm and fuzzy feeling" that everything was being done properly. The initial visit went well and the technician did a thorough job of checking out the system. However, he was not sure why the unit was not adequately cooling the house so he suggested that the owner, Mr. Hauser, come out and do an air conditioning audit to determine if the unit was big enough for the house. This sounded like a good idea since the house had been added onto prior to my purchasing it. After many calls to the company and being told each time that I would hear back from Mr. Hauser, no one ever came out and no one called me about it. While the initial visit went well, this lack of follow up was why I gave them D's in Responsiveness and Professionalism.

It went better than expected!! Service guy was very friendly and honest. No high pressure sales like the last guy I had. The tech did take over 45 minutes to arrive after the office lady called, but he said he came from across town and had to stop for gas so all was good. The A/C was not cooling. He found the problem rather quickly. A stick from a tree had lodged inside the unit and was blocking the fan from turning. He checked the readings inside and out and decided to also clean the coils on the outer unit and added some freon. He offered me a service contract, but was not high pressure at all. He just left it for me to review and said I could call later if I was interested in it. I will most definitely use them again when the need arises. .

I got a discount through Angie's List. The price wasn't bad at all. I was really pleased. They are very timely and personable. They have really nice, courteous workers. They are on time, and they are willing to check out anything. They were very helpful. I am really impressed with them, and I will stick with them. I'm pushing my daughter to use them. I was very pleased with their technician.

They are excellent. They are very professional. They are very confident when it comes to heating and air-conditioning.

Very professional organization. Make appointments and they call the day before as a reminder. I usually have the first appointment of the day and they will be there at 8am sharp. Maintenance on furnace and outside unit are thorough and includes detailed cleaning, tightening of all wiring connections and check/recharge refrigerant. They inspect the filter and humidifier and will replace with my elements or materials off the truck at an extra charge.

Called about air conditioner continually running. Serviceman came within a couple of hours and tested unit. Just a little low on freon so he suggested I purchase a one year service agreement which would cover service that day and prepay for furnace turnup in fall. Very positively impressed with this company.

Being related to the family I perhaps received extra special service but I believe Hauser Air makes a concerted effort to offer fantastic service to all customers

Called Hauser on a Saturday expecting to have a problem getting someone over the weekend or being charged an additional fee for not calling during normal service hours. I was thrilled to talk to an extremely professional person on the phone who could send someone out in a matter of hours! Was not charged any additional weekend fees and had an extremely polite professional service person show up to look at the system. Our system was frozen so they came back on Sunday morning after it had thawed out. We needed a part ordered to fix the system. The same service person came back to fix it the following week. Great company - professional - polite - cleaned up after their work - took care of our house used shoe guards - and reasonable prices. Will use again.

During the heat of July, my AC fan went out. I called Hauser and they were out later that afternoon. The AC fan was bad and needed replaced. The service tech replaced the fan and was out the door in less then 90 minutes. Hauser was very responsive and I def. will use them again.

Josh was extremely professional and answered all of our questions. I wish we had selected these guys over the installer we used but hindsight is 20/20. The price was the main reason we went with another installer/unit. They were slightly more expensive then the Lennox installer we used and also more expensive than another Carrier dealer.

furnace would not heat, only blew cold air. They inspected, found several issues; birds had been living in the intake over a few months, repairs had been performed before (just moved in) and an incorrect condenser had been installed (was also on our home inspection, but we missed it!). they provided an estimate immediately and got to work that day. They had to order parts, which they found were under warranty. The parts came in in 2 days, immediately scheduled the service. They cleaned and replaced part of the intake, replaced condenser and did a tune up. We also had them check the air conditioner and scheduled a fall maintenance for the furnace and air conditioner.

Our air conditioner went out on a Saturday afternoon when the outdoor temperature was 92 degrees. I left a message with their answering service, and the service man returned the call in about 15-20 minutes. He told me the charge to come out on a Saturday was $159.00 and asked if I still wanted the service. He said he would be here in 15 minutes and he was! He checked the thermostat, the basement unit and the outside unit and determined that our capacitor needed replacing. He asked to see a copy of our warranty since the unit is only four years old. Since parts and service were included in the warranty (from a different company) he only charged me the $159.00 that he had told me about. I think it was all taken care of in an hour - from the time I called the answering service until the air conditioner was running again. Terrific service!

I had ANOTHER company come out and tell me my compressor was bad on a 5 year old Air Conditioner. (All the guy would do was try to sell me a system and say that it couldn't be repaired) I asked my neighbor who they used. They said call "Hauser Air...We have used them for several years and have been very pleased." So I called Hauser Air and explained the situation. They sent a service tech out the same day. He checked the system over throughly and found it ONLY needed a capacitor! They told me that the Air Conditioner was fine and didn't need to be replaced. This company is professional, they were on time, (you don't see that anymore), and the technician was neat, and knowledgeable! THIS COMPANY IS AAAA++++++!!!!!!! Would recommend to anybody!

They were definitely professional and seemed to have good knowledge of what was needed. It's just that they were very pushy and tried to push us to the highest end model.

I have only positive things to say about my experience. They are great.

We've used them exclusively since we've bought our house. They do what they say what they're going to do, they're reasonable, and they're conscientious.

They were on time and gave us good information. Our system was in good shape by using their services and by having their certificate. It made it easier for us to sell our home. I would surely hire them in the future too.
