Mr. Russo called back same day and was diligent following up to secure a mutually acceptable date to inspect the breaker for my central air. He advised the breaker required higher amperage and checked the wiring which was good. He changed the breaker and my a/c is working great again!! I asked for additional cards to share with my friends. Russo Electric is awesome!!
Description of Work: Upgraded breaker in electric panel for central a/c and inspected wiring.

After the job was done, we were so happy with the results. It took us TWO WHOLE MONTHS to find someone who not only had a license but who can really get the work done in a timely manner while doing it cleanly and professionally (with NO room for mistakes). Not being able to move in due to unfinished renovations, we were so desperate to hire someone for this job that we almost gave it to the horrible guy who did our circuit breaker. Then, we almost gave the job to this "supposedly licensed" contractor who we hired to have our doors custom-cut; this guy not only lied about being a licensed contractor/electrician, he also told us that we needed to make a fresh hole in the ceiling and another hole in the wall in order to get this job done. Obviously, we said no to this guy too. Lastly, I saw an ad in the paper about a licensed company that deals with electric, so I had the guy come in. He didn't say he needed to make any holes in the walls or ceiling, but he also didn't really seem to know what he was doing. He didn't even mention anything about installing a box into the living room ceiling before installing the ceiling fan (we had to tell him - pure amateur); on top of that, he lied about being licensed too. I am telling you from experience. Some electricians will lie about having a license and others who have their licenses might get the job done BUT may complete the job in a very sloppy way (like the first guy we used for the circuit breaker - causing us more $$$ because now we have to hire a plaster guy to patch up that giant hole he made ALL around it.) When Mr. Russo came to our home, we told him what the problem was. We even told him that we wanted as minimal damage to the walls and ceiling as possible. He suggested some ideas to us, and even explained the entire process and everything that needed to be done. Yesterday, the work was done exactly as he said it would be AND the best part is that it was done in the RIGHT WAY!!!!! Basic breakdown - The circuit breaker guy quoted us $235 (without ceiling fan installation) = definite horrible job.The custom-cut doors guy quoted us around $350 (not sure with or without materials) = definite horrible job.The false advertising guy quoted us $400 (including materials) = potential horrible job.Russo Electric quoted us $500 (including materials) = a beautiful job!!! We paid a little more for Russo Electric to do it, but it was definitely worth it. If I ever have a problem with my electric in the future, I will be calling Russo Electric again (and again and again). Even if you have to wait one to two weeks for them to come into your home, if you have a serious job waiting to be done, do not just call someone else so that you can get it done as soon as possible. Take my advice and wait for Russo Electric because I cannot stress enough how great of a job they did. They really know what they're doing, which is the reason why they can be so busy at times. We called the "false advertising guy" actually because the first time we called Russo Electric, their schedule was booked for the next week to two weeks and we didn't really want to wait; however, we ended up waiting anyway. Now, we finally have a permanent light source in the living room/dining area. Plus, they got the work done in a couple of hours and did a great job!! We highly recommend them!
Description of Work: I had purchased a place and right before closing, the previous owner had decided to get rid of the permanent light fixture in the attic. The light fixture had been installed with an extension cord ("fake wiring") that was connected to the living room ceiling light fixture as well. To remove the lighting in the attic, the previous owner had ignorantly used a pair of scissors to simply cut the extension cord; therefore, I had absolutely no source of light in the living room after I finally got a hold of the keys. Last month, I hired a licensed electrician to convert two old fuse boxes into one modern circuit breaker. He had guaranteed a work of perfection with absolutely no holes left in the wall. After he was done, he left a huge mess with not only an enormous hole in the wall on BOTH sides of the new circuit breaker but he also broke off a piece of the ceiling. I did NOT want this man back in my home and although his quote was very tempting, I refused to let him do the job that I hired Russo Electric for. My fiance's trusty co-worker had the same problem where he had hired a licensed electrician to do a similar job (converting three old fuse boxes into one new circuit breaker) but saw that he was unfit for it; he kicked him out in the middle of his work and found Russo Electric to fix and finish the job. He highly recommended them to us and that's how my fiance and I found this company. I called Mr. Russo last Thursday; he came in to give me a quote the very next day and they finished the job just yesterday. Russo Electric does not play games; they are very professional and quick (but also very very efficient). They came on time, knew exactly what to do and what needed to be done (as if the job was rehearsed over and over again). Our ceiling and walls have just been newly painted and we asked that they be very cautious around them while working, and they were. No damages were done to the ceiling or walls; very minimal chips and smudges that we just need to spackle and retouch with paint. We had Russo Electric do the following work in our living room/shared dining area: (1a) install a new "real wire" in the attic with one end leading to the living room ceiling and the other end into the circuit breaker, (1b) install a box for a ceiling fan, and (1c) install a ceiling fan; (2a) install a separate new "real wire" in the attic with one end leading to our hanging pendant lights and the other into the circuit breaker, and (2b) install boxes for the pendant lights; (3) combine both wires at the circuit breaker into one new circuit; (4) place new dimmers (with off and on switches) in the wall (one for the ceiling fan light and one for the pendant lights); (5a) remove the old light switch from the wall (it was not worth damaging the wall to make this old switch reusable), and (5b) plaster up the hole; and finally, (6) replace another very old light switch/outlet combo with a new single light switch.

I called Russo's last night and left a message, inquiring whether there was anybody available to remove an old light fixture and install a new one that I had purchased. Early this morning, Russo's called me back, asking me for more details, and then, to my delight, let me know that someone could come this very morning and perform the service! Sure enough, within a couple of hours, the electrician was here! He was courteous, and he quickly went to work - the whole procedure was done within 10-15 minutes. So happy I called them - and so thrilled with my new bright kitchen!!!
Description of Work: The electrician removed an old fixture that stopped working and had become loose, and installed a new light fixture in the kitchen.

Went fine, done for a good price (only $50 more than a non-licensed electrician -- actually, a plumber -- offered to do the job for), polite and quick.

Mr. Russo came two weeks ago to give estimates on several jobs and did a "quick fix" on the most urgent problem. The next available day that fit both his schedule and mine was today. His two employees showed up at the scheduled time, did several jobs (including a more thorough version of the aforementioned "quick fix"), we discussed options for another job and agreed to postpone it. No complaints.
Description of Work: Replacing an overhead light fixture, replacing a wall socket with a GFI socket, securing another wall socket that was pulling out of the wall. We also discussed installing two new wall sockets and some wall-mounted sconces, but my wife and I decided to postpone that job.

The day after calling for an estimate Steve passed by to see the job. He gave me what I thought was a fair estimate so I hired him to do the job the following week. As scheduled his workers, John and Mike, arrived and were prompt and courteous. They got to work immediately and suggested I cover some things to protect them from the dust. Several hours later I had 8 recessed lights installed with dimmer switch, the apt. was cleaned up and the men were on their way. I would highly recommend them...happily too!

How did it go? It didnt.
Description of Work: A family illness has delayed my review. A few days before Christmas I called for a whole house estimate of electrical services. Since there was no answer, I left a message with some detailes. A day or so later after receiving no response, I called early in the morning and the male answerer stated that he was thinking of returning my call. After describing my job he told me he could make it to the house in the next day or so, but when I mentioned that we worked and would need an evening appointment, I was told that they don't do evening appointments. Curious, huh?

After finding Russo Electric on Angie's List, we placed a call to which we received a very prompt response and we set up an appointment for someone to come out to give us an estimate. Steve Russo, was on time for the appointment and was very knowledgeable when discussing the work. When we requested to have a new outlet installed for the new microwave, he said that we would need to add an additional circuit so that we would be code. He gave me an estimate on the spot and since it was so reasonable for the work done, we set up an appointment right then. The first portion of our renovation went faster than expected, so we put in a call to see if they could come earlier than originally scheduled. My call was returned within 24 hours and we were able to bump our appointment up one day, which was great! As before, everyone was prompt for the day of the actual work. Steve was again back, along with 2 men, to confirm the work that was to be done with me and the guys who were actually going to be doing the work. After trying a part for the light and realizing that it wasn't going to fit, we discussed replacing entire light units, which was now our only option since our lights were so old. We discussed an estimated price and agreed. I also mentioned moving the switch for the garbage disposal, which was not a part of the original estimate. Steve gave me a price for that as well. He left the two men to work. The two men, were extremely professional and considerate... especially considering I have two toddlers and they had to contend with baby gates and constantly closing doors behind them to block the stairway. They also coordinated with me with regard to the time they took lunch, so I could feed my daughters lunch. When they were finished, they cleaned up after themselves and walked me through to show me everything that was done. All in all, it was a great experience. Whenever we have electrical needs in the future, we will definitely be calling Russo Electric again.
Description of Work: We are having our kitchen remodeled, we replaced counter outlets with GFCI, replaced recessed lights, moved a switch for our garbage disposal and ran a new outlet for a new wall mounted/over range microwave.

A fan caused a short circuit in a VERY old house with VERY old a frankly illogical wiring. Mr. Russo and his crew carefully identified the problem and fixed it. I have no words for how grateful I am to have found this smart, knowledgable, decent person! His approach is systematic, logical, reasonable. He would be a star in any profession, thankfully he is an electrician. Absolutely phenomenal!

When he came out I was happy with him for the estimate. He came out and did the job the next day but they put a wire around a heating pipe. I called and told them this and they acted like it was not a big deal. Mr. Russo came to restrap the wire and take it off the pipe but it is still near the pipe. They told me the worst thing that could happen is I would have to reset the circuit breaker. Mr. Russo was very unprofessional and he was rude. I do not feel like I should have to reset the circuit breaker, it makes me feel like there is still a problem.

I made my first call and left a message. I received a prompt reply the next day and John and Mike showed up to give me an estimate. They arrived on time and gave me a price on the spot: $275. Possibly an additional $75 if they would need to cut the pipe and replace with new. They arrived on time and repaired the problem within thirty minutes. They were able to save the original pipe so I didn't have to pay the additional $75. In retrospect, the job was relatively simple because they were able to simply move the pipe by hand, reattach it to the facade of the house and place a weather cap on the top. I don't know if I was overcharged or not because I have nothing similar to compare it to but they got the job done quickly and professionally. I would use them again and simply ask for a discount if I felt the job warranted one.

John and Mike were both hard working , excellent workers. Thanks, guys! Mr. Russo should be very proud of them, because the impression they leave is going to bring him alot of work!
Description of Work: I had a short circuit which knocked out 4 fixtures and 7 outlets. John and Mike came exactly at the scheduled time. They were very courteous, conscientious, and pleasant young men. The attentively listened to my description of the problem. Then they immediately went to work. With great diligence and concentration, they systematically examined all the affected fixtures and outlets until they traced the source of the short. The repaired it, put everything back together, cleaned up, and left. Everything works perfectly. I would use them again for any electrical problem. I sincerely and unconditionally recommend them to anyone. In fact, I've already recommended them to a friend.

The response time with Russo Electric was excellent. Russo came himselft, accessed the situtation after my describing the problems, gave me his recommendation and estimate and then scheduled an appointment for the actual work to be done. His electricans (2) arrived promptly at 9:00 AM ; explained what they were here to do (put in a new electrical line for an air conditioner); marked the electrical panel and were done in under an hour. My house is 100 years old and I'm sure I'll need an electrican again. I'm already working out the next project. Russo Electric has restored my faith in electricans!!!!

I needed to replace a washer dryer and was concerned with electric power and also if having that looked at i also decided to have some additional work done. I contacted a few companies - Mr Russo promptly returned my call and during the estimate listened to what i wanted and he explained all the work to be done and he asked questions regarding the work such as reasons and problems i had with it as it was. They arrived promptly and got right to work. Certain problems came up but were shown and explained to me why they were doing things. The completed the work as promised and cleaned up after. I would be happy to use them again.

What a pleasant experience. I had called the previous evening. Mr. Russo called back early the next morning. We made an appointment for after the weekend. He called back a couple of hours later saying a client wasn't home and he could send his men that day. His men were professional and courteous. Their work was done quickly and efficiently, but most of all it was done cleanly. I've never had workman who were so careful and who cleaned up so well. I found the price to be fair and considering the job they did well worth the money. Wouldn't hesitate to have they back or to recommend them.
Description of Work: The lights in the upstairs bathroom and the downstairs boiler room wouldn't work. Everywhere else in the house was fine. It was hard to understand how these two were connected. Two men came and spent a great deal of time trying to locate the problem. They checked out all possibilities. Eventually it was decided to rewire both rooms. They also replaced an air conditioner outlet in an upstairs bedroom.

I called for an estimate of 2 jobs. One was moving the light fixture and the other was moving an outlet from one side of the wall to another. I was told that it would cost about $125 for each job. The electricians arrived promptly and got to work. My mother was at the apartment because I had to work but they did their best to communicate with her based on her limited English. The guys were professional and cordial and kept communication with me through the phone to make sure that the fixture was placed as I wanted it. Additionally, they informed me that the outlet that I wanted moved would not support the types of appliances I wanted to plug into it so I told them not to move it. I appreciated their honesty about this because someone else may have done the job without asking questions. The light fixture gave them a bit of trouble to install so I didn't mind paying a little extra than originally quoted, since the quote was a rough estimate over the phone without seeing the job. The guys did an excellent job and used their discretion about how high to place the pendants from the counter since I was not sure myself. I was very happy with their work and will use Russo Electric in the future.

This was the best estimate that I received. It went wonderfully. Russo, who owns the company, actually came and did all the interior work and his workers performed the exterior work. They were courteous and listened to what I wanted. They cleaned up afterwards. They came on time and returned my phone calls.
Description of Work: They performed a service upgrade. They got rid of all the old fuse boxes, replaced incoming wires, exterior meters and upgraded from 110 to 220 volts.
