Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services

The overall experience was excellent with the service provider. The repairman had a trainee with him, This allowed for me to learn some good tips on clogged drain problems because of the thorough explanation to the trainee. The both of them were courteous and helpful beyond my expectations. This is the second time the service provider was hired to do work at my residence. That was also as pleasant of an experience as one can expect for plumbing repairs. I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs assistance. A helpful tip to reduce repair costs with them is to (if possible) have more than one repair done at a time. For example,don"t just have one leaky faucet repaired, instead have two. The provider gave me a discount on the second repair.

The service was very good but it was very Expensive. I had thought when discussing the work order that Roto Rooter was going to clean up all the mess and rebuild as well.My basement was fully finished including full bathroom with shower, and all walls were finished. But I found out Roto Rooter does not rebuild anything. My son, husband , and myself all started the clean up process well before Roto Rooter service arrived. We used our shop vac to remove abour 40 gallons of waste water that was trapped in the bathroom in the basement..My son took most of the damaged items and damaged drywall that was cut away up the basement stairs and out to the yard by curb and the service truck. There was a huge amount of damaged items. I told my family the more work we do the better. This would allow the 2 service workers to focus on drywall removal and clean up of walls and floors etc. The 2 workers were here for 8 hours.They preformed very good.They hauled away all the damage in one of their trucks.At the end of actual cleanup of the same day they brought in about 12 air movers. A large dehumidifier and a large Hepa Air Filtration system.They placed at least 3 air movers in each room.They placed the other 2 devices in the entrance room. They plugged all the devices in the electrical outlets and told me to keep them working for the next 3 days. At which time they would return to pick up their equipment. Was it worth almost 5 GRAND for the basement inside clean up not including the outside work NO because I have been through this before at the same magnitude in 2009.. I did not hire anyone to do the clean up then and take out partial walls.My son, husband and myself did all of the very same work ourselves. I have a professional electric drain cleaning device and I rented all the other items. My family did all the cleaning ourselves in 2009 at a total cost of about $1,000...I have $5,000. of insurance for this type of thing in 2009 and at present.I used the $4,000. left over in 2009 to rebuild my basement walls, floors, paint etc. Like I said Roto Rooter did a good job, no problem there. I just thought for the amount it cost they were going to rebuild everything as well as to do the actual cleaning. The outside work was a separate job that cost an additional $3,713.and not covered in my insurance. My insurance adjuster said the outside job was considered home maintenance.Even though that work was not actually on my property line. It was on the city"s section of the property. That work was from under the city's sidewalk and to the street curb. The city's tree roots caused all this to happen again .The city told me they are not responsible. So I had to pay for that repair. That work was also done by Roto Rooter and they did a good job there too. To Summarize Roto Rooter does a good job, but its going to cost A LOT OF MONEY. If you have the knowledge, time , equipment and other people to help to do all the clean up , then save your money for the repairs.But if you do not want to deal with all the headaches, time, work and can afford it then hire Roto Rooter. Also Roto Rooter did a good and quick repair outside.I hope that was money well spent. I could not have done that job anyway.They had the big kid equipment , backhoe etc.

RotoRooter was able to send someone out within 3 hours of my call. Technician Rich (2075) was courteous and efficient. He called before the scheduled time to let me know he would be about 15 minutes later than the scheduled time. He called again when he was on his way and arrived within 15 minutes of the the scheduled time. He had the line cleared quickly despite the rainy day. The company offered a free camera scan of the line at a later time if I wished. Overall I was very satisfied with the service.

Initially called to have garbage disposal repaired - it was not functioning and leaking. The worker gave the option to remove the old disposal unit or replace it; he had parts for neither. I elected to have it removed. He went to home depot to buy parts. He completed the repairs, but left the electrical line exposed under the sink.

The service provider was prompt and courteous and professional. He got the job done efficiently and did a great job in figuring out how to arrange the intake plumbing to be able to install that whole house water filter. I was impressed and am sure to call on them for my plumbing needs which will be done in the near future. For the work performed, the cost was well worth it and it saved me a lot of headaches had I chosen to do it myself.

On Saturday morning, I discovered that my basement tubs were backing up. They didn't overflow (thank goodness), but it gave me an opportunity to address the problem before it got worse. I went onto Angie's List, looking for a plumber and found Roto-rooter. They were highly rated, and offered a $40 coupon. I called to schedule an appointment for same day service at no additional cost. The technician arrived about 4 hours later, and provided me with a free estimate. After I consented, he spent the next 1.5 hours unclogging the main line, while I looked over his shoulder. The technician was professional, courteous, and answered all questions that I asked.

Roto-Rooter was prompt in scheduling service and the technician that came to fix the problem, as scheduled, was knowledgeable, courteous, and professional.

It went very well. My only complaint is after the work was done, the toilet screw covers no longer fit and this wasn't mentioned to me. I'm not sure I can replace them.

Frank spent about two hours here cleaning the main line and clearing the second line that was totally clogged. He brought lots of old roots up. It took sending the cable down twice to clear the second line. He was very sure to double check after the first line and found another larger clog farther in. He also did a second and third check on the main line until all ran clear top to bottom. He explained what he was doing at each step and was a total professional. Frank was also quite congenial and gave me some tips on keeping the lines clear of soap residue, which was the source of the clog on the main line. Before leaving he also reminded me of the six month guarantee. I have a seed Roto rooter in the past as we have an old house with lots of large trees, the have always been terrific. I highly recommend them

It was crappy. I was hugely disappointed. I felt like they shouldn't have even offered it as a deal on Angie's List. The amount of credit that you got for the service was a joke. It's almost like whatever they put at the $75 credit for $25 when they come out, they double what they normally charge you. It's a waste of money. They charged me about $458 for that. It was the same spicket they replaced a year ago. They never showed up when they tell you. They've always been late. I've used them for other things. Whatever they tell you they're going to show up, you might as well add 2 hours to it.

The provider discussed the attempts made by my husband to unclog the kitchen drain and then examined the pipes involved before his first attempt to unclog the drain. He was extremely professional and personable during his interaction with my husband. He stationed my husband near the pipe so that my husband could report back what he was hearing in the pipes; this aided him because the clog occurred in a bend in the pipe located in our basement. It took only one attempt to break through the clog without doing any damage to the sink or any of the plumbing lines. Following the unclogging the provider discussed the blockage with my husband and suggested we purchase "Pipe Shield" (an additive that is put into the drain on a monthly basis) that helps prevent future build ups. We did take this opportunity to purchase the "Pipe Shield" to help prevent future blockages since we considered the cost to be reasonable. We had a coupon from Angie's List for a $40.00 discount on Roto-Rooters' service and, while not familiar with the coupon, the service provider graciously accepted it. We were extremely pleased with the services provided. We had placed our call for service on Saturday afternoon, October 3, and arranged an appointment for service on Sunday afternoon, October 4. He called ahead to confirm the appointment and arrived shortly before the scheduled time. We would highly recommend this service to anyone.

The service man came in and spent some time troubleshooting the problem to determine where the leak was coming from. He then replaced two lengths of pipe in the basement and a pvc fitting behind the wall of the bathroom. He had to cut 2 holes in the drywall to find the leak but fixed it in one day.

It was quick and easy. took more time finding which washers and nuts to use then to actually change them.

Dave W. was very helpful and explained each step he was doing in the process. Unfortunately we found a section of drain pipe which has apparently collapsed and is full of stones, so that section was the true source of the issue. Dave explained what had happened, what needed to be done, and was able to get an estimate for that work from his boss before he left my house.

They were prompt in setting up appointment & professional in getting to home. This was my 2nd time calling them. The first time went well and the worker was fast, prompt, and informed me I had a 30 day guarantee. But when they drained the toilet at the second location, they did get it to flush, but only gave me a 1 day guarantee (if someone is hesitant to give you a guarantee, then that pretty much says they dont think they did a good job, especially since it is usually a 30 day guarantee with them). When I asked why it was only a 1 day guarantee, they said, "since its a commerical building, you never know what they throw in there? even though it was a residential rental property. So i couldn't completely dispute his claims, but I should have been suspicious with a 1 day guarantee... not even a week? Sure enough, 1 week later the SAME issue came up and the toilet overflowed. At this point, I was worried they would just do the same thing and sent a plumber from a different company over. For the cost of $160, they snaked it, got it to flush, though the flush was weak, took it apart, turned the toilet upside down, and found a 10 inch comb. When I called to get the credit for the service from Roto rooter. They said I should have called them and then i would only need to pay the difference of the second level work that would have been needed. Which would have been a total $350+ cost! I understand she works for the company, however, the company provides a service, she did not offer any discounts, credits, or apology. In fact she did not seem interested in retaining me as a customer at all. So i guess I'll just stop being a customer. I'm a lot happier with my new plumber anyways, esp since he's better, and at a fairer price.

I always use these guys, price for almost all services is on par or lower than most local companies. You can schedule work at any time which is really what I like
