George was very professional and did an outstanding job. He worked for three hours not only to fix the problem , but replace a missing cap, he also provided advice as to how to prevent tree roots from creating a back-up. George was the best plumber we have ever had and I would definitely call again if we ever had an issue. We have used Econo-Sewer twice before, but this company is so much better. Instead of recommending an expensive solution immediately, George worked on ensuring the problem was resolved.

On time for estimate and work. Started and completed the job when they said they would. Courteous workers. Overall excellent work. Other large company plumbers never showed for estimates, hard to compare price. I needed to get the leak resolved, seemed like a fair price.

Balkan furnished all permits and took care of the work quickly and efficiently. We had a little leaking around the foundation a few weeks later, and Balkan team came right back to seal and clean everything further. Crew was very clean and friendly. No problems in 5 years, and our drinking water is perfectly lead-free.

Balkan came and replaced our service line in December and did an efficient job. Their bid was competitive with others I had received and Frank, the man who came to give the estimate, was very thorough in explaining the job and gave us some excellent advice about our plumbing set-up generally. Come spring, due to rains and temperature shifts the holes dug in our yard had begun to sink in a little bit. Also, the entry point of the service line to our basement leaked a little after deep soaking spring rains. I was not terribly upset about this as these things happen and I think it had as much to do with temperature changes as it did the quality of their work. WHAT REALLY IMPRESSED ME, however, was when I sent an email with photos of both the sinking holes and the leak, Balkan dispatched an incredibly friendly and helpful young man THE NEXT MORNING. They were incredibly responsive to my concerns which has not always been my experience with various contractors in this city.

Balkan was great: prompt, courteous, informative. We will definitely be going with them in the future if the work is needed. Trust is important, and I was left with a good first impression.

George came over and spent several hours working on the problem- trying to snake it with multiple tools and also attempting to use the camera to diagnose the issue. George was great. He did not try to immediately sell us on a new line, but worked through all the alternatives before that. We highly recommend him!

Really well, it was a little hard to get in touch, but once I did - George was great! Very kind, tried to do less first - to save me money. Then he had to do more. He did a great job, tested & made sure everything worked, & then cleaned up beautifully!

George and his helper were professional, gave good advice, and made me feel totally comfortable. I enjoyed talking to them, they fixed the problem and didn't try to take advantage of me.

We called around 11:30am and spoke with nice lady who scheduled us right away - the techmician, George, arrived within 2 and a half hours and went right to work to efficiently relieve the clog. George was very friendly and knew exactly what to do and gave us tips on how to avoid the grease build up that caused our problem. He even covered his shoes with bonnets to protect our floor as it was raining. Very pleasant and relieving experience after the hassle of having to clean up a serious overflow in our downstairs shower. Will definitely call Balkan again if necessary.

It was fabulous! Balkan sent George who did an extraordinary job. I didn't think one man could do the job, but he did. I can't say enough good things about him and the company. I definitely recommend them.

It went great. The plumber George was at the house less than an hour and a half from the time I first called. He quickly isolated the location of the clogged pipe and fixed it. He was also great at answering all of my questions and making suggestions. The estimate was also spot on.

Perfectly! Notice a backup on a Saturday afternoon and after contacting them through Angie's List they had someone here within two hours. George was a great help, explaining all the options to me and then performing the service.

The job initially was to install a curb-side cut out valve for our sprinkler system. Balkin located the spot in the sidewalk where the valve was supposed to be; but no valve was there.....and to complicate matters, the water service line to our sprinkler system had to be replaced because it wasn't the correct size. 70' feet of pipe. So Balkin stopped the curb-side cut off valve project, resurfaced the ground they dug up and submitted a new proposal to replace the water service line. We sought bids from other sewer and water main plumbers but Balkin came in with the lowest bid. Note: There aren't many plumbers in New York City that do this kind of sewer and water main work. Balkin estimated the project would take 2 days. Due to weather conditions, they needed 4 days. We only had one part of a day of water service disruption throughout the project. They were very careful not to tear up too much of our front patio blue stone to get to the old pipe. They installed 70' feet of new copper water pipe, a new curb-side cut off valve and a new sprinkler system shut off valve in our cellar. They were even nice enough to remove some old pipes we had left over from an earlier plumbing job. As with all major contractor jobs, Balkin required a 50% deposit before the project starts; and then the balance of the fee upon completion. Balkin's price saved us about $2,100.00 dollars from the next lowest bid. Would I use them again? Sure.

Although we had a few episodes of sewage backing up into the basement before Homeserve USA would agree to pay for the camera inspection, once that happened, we were approved to have Balken do the Jetting procedure to get out the built up grease. Problem solved! As for the strange price i put down, the reason i did this is because i pay Homeserve USA about 20 dollars a month for sewer insurance and Balken was called in by Homeserve USA. I was very impressed that Homeserve USA worked with such a fine reputable company such as Balken (based on past Angie's reviews).

George was super friendly , professional, knowledgeable, patient, and a good guy, he is the type of guy that you have confidence to refer to your friends to. George was very detail oriented , walked through every step with you as he went on and gave pointers and tips on how you can do it yourself next time around, superior services and learning experience throughout the whole process, 5 hours was tiring but also rewarding in terms of getting rid of problem and gaining knowledge, money well spent!

Just FYI, NOT a full plumbing service. It would be good to know that before I spent the time trying to contact them.

Excellent service, I called Balkan at 6pm after finding my basement bath tub drain extremly backed up. George responded a few hours later and provided excellent customer service and cleared my line in less than an hour. George was very friendly and gave a lot of insight on the issue and how the houses drain line work. The price was quoted before any work started. The quote was very reasonable and there was no "emergency" or "after hour" fee. Great serve at a great value, I would highly recommend and use again.
