Great work, nice people, but a little pricey

Half a star is honestly far too generous, but HomeAdvisor doesn't let me give less than that. I hired Plumbing Today for a shower faucet/valve installation after using them for another project that was professionally and efficiently handled by a courteous team. The work was "done" on January 30. I called immediately to complain - the tub surround has holes in it, is cracked, and the pipes leading to the shower were literally spraying water. I have been trying since to get someone to fix this problem. Meanwhile, the kids and I have been driving 20 minutes to use the showers at the Y, because we have only one bathroom. It is now February 25, nearly a month after the damage was done. I just received a notice that our 8am appointment will have to be pushed back till Friday. This is at LEAST 7 times we've had appointments canceled or postponed. In all this time, one technician has come out. He assessed the problem - the wrong pipe was used, the soldering failed, the nipple was the wrong size, the pipe for the faucet protrudes out from the wall, the tub surround was damaged (both around the faucet, and behind all three levers) and no caulk was used anywhere. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau. I strongly suggest that HomeAdvisor take this company off its directory - they have a long list of complaints, some of which were made directly to HomeAdvisor. My advice? DO NOT USE PLUMBING TODAY!!!

Had a descent quote at the start. This slowly went up $400 before the end. Said he had to charge me $350 for extra plumbing because the copper pipes didn't fit exactly on the new water heater. What change in water heater job fits exact? Good workmanship but thought I was nickeled and dimed to the point it was the same price as other quotes.

The pro was a good problem solver. When he could not find the water shutoff in the house, he asked the city to mark the shut off from the street. By doing this, he was able to do the job quickly and efficiently. All is good!

After scheduling an appointment for 1/2 they said they could get to my home earlier. But after a few calls about delays they didn’t make it here on that day. They called the following morning an scheduled for about an hour from the call. The plumber did show up, he assessed the problem, gave me an estimate and did the job. He was professional but the delays were a little frustrating.

Quick response and was able to resolve my issue right away. Professional and courteous. Highly recommend!!

YOU WILL HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THEIR SERVICE, IF YOU USE PLUMBING TODAY; MAKE CERTAIN YOUR CONTRACT SHOW THE SCOPE OF WORK AND CLEARLY DEFINED EXPECTATIONS

They came when they said they would be there. That's nice, because many don't. The repair was not cheap, but it was done on the spot and the repairman had the part on the truck. These folks do emergency service and are reliable. If they've been matched to your project, in my opinion you should give them a crack at it.

Took 4 appts and a month to get pumped out. Cost an additional 387$ to get line unplugged after delay x 2 weeks to pump out after the initial call. Plumber cut access pipe put in by this company last April due to being too tall. The company has not repaired it yet. Workmen are generally good when you can finally get them to come.

Altough the mechanic was very nice it took 4 visits to complete the job and fix leaks resulting from the job. The customer service office failed several times to meet their commitments for the mechanic to come back to fix leaks. The owner came the second time with the mechanic and inadvertently opened the valve for my sprinkler system which I had previously winterized. At the owners order the mechanic disassembled the check valve in my sprinkler system to drain out the water caused by the inadvertent valve opening and he was unable to reassemble it. After the owner left he sent me 2 additional estimates to modify my system which I had not asked for. One included the replacement of the check valve that had been disassembled and could not be reassembled, the other did not have the check valve in it. These estimates were for an additional ~ $800. I think that the modificaton could have been done as part of the original job for little if any additional cost since the perception that a modification was needed was caused by a different placement of my bladder tank. I looked on line for the price of the materials which came out to be ~ $500 - $600 retail, I was charged $1600 for the job. Overall I thought the price was excessive. Also, if next spring my sprinkler system develops a leak because of the inadvertent valve opening, they will be back to fix my sprinkler system.

Insanely expensive and one of the guys kept offering his unwanted political/social opinion. I'll find someone else next time. Thanks, but no thanks.

My account has been paid in full; every time we signed off on services, we immediately paid the bill. Since paying them, we are getting the run around on pumping of our septic. Dozens of phone calls totaling an hour; empty promises of being the first to be pumped. Here we are two weeks later (after much arguing) and they were supposed to pump the septic yesterday (11/13). Had to call today because that did not happen and customer service seemed to be annoyed that I called. The unfortunate thing is that all of the folks that did the field work were absolutely wonderful. Dealing with the office staff and getting the rest of the services we've paid for has been a nightmare. Near 4k spent with this company and I can't get the final pumping that we've already paid for (and they said they'd issue credit for which never happened).

Initial tech who came to my house diagnosed the problem incorrectly and left my sink in parts. After arguing with polite customer service, more qualified techs came to fix the problem. The faucet drip was ultimately fixed but it took two days of phone calls. Hopefully, the initial tech who came to my house has been reassigned to a different part of the company or a different company altogether. The rest of the staff was professional and saved the day, but the lone tech gave me a poor experience and earned them a poor review.
