The geothermal system they installed had frequent breakdowns. It also would use the electric heat a lot. We would get error messages. If we cut all of the power, and then turned the breaker back on, it would work for a couple of hours and shut down again. Then we found out there was a leak somewhere. They stopped returning phone calls. We had a new system installed by another company that works flawlessly.

Although I ended up satisfied with the final outcome of my geothermal system, the road to completion was less than smooth.  During installation, an "error" was made which caused my hot water heater to leak which flooded my basement-- no significant damage but it could have been serious if I didn't notice the leak early on.  They corrected the problem quickly and were very apologetic but never once was I asked if there was any permanent damage.  There were several other problems that were made that showed up just shortly after completion that seemed like someone just dropped the ball on their part.  In all fairness, they were prompt at addressing the problems.  Coincidentally, shortly after my project was completed, the salesman/ project supervisor was let go leaving me still wondering if my install was completed properly.

I must say that the phone receptionists have always been very courteous and helpful as well as the technicians that have worked at my home.  Overall, I feel they were the best choice out there at the time and I'm satisfied.  I understand things can happen and owners can't control everything that their employees do and sometimes mistakes happen.  It's how issues are resolved that matter to me and they seem to make things right.  

UPDATE:  10/11/2015  We've had our geothermal system for 2 winters now and we have been very happy with it.  It's kept our house very warm (71 degrees) all winter without any problem.  The cooling during hot days of summer is amazing.  The only maintenance we have done is filter changes.  We had a problem with a leak (our fault) and Van Hee was very prompt  to come out and evaluate.  The technician was knowlegable and polite.  We have recommended them to our friends who have had them install systems and are all very satisfied.  

They always show up on time, they are professional and efficient with completeing the work. The man who was supposed to be changing the filter had forgotten the particular filter he needed, but went to home depot, picked it up and then didn't charge me any extra.

I have been doing business with them since 2007 when they installed my furnace and I have nothing but nice things to say about them.

When they first installed the furnace there were some issues, but they came back multiple times (including the owner) and kept on it until they rectified the situation. I also had no quams about leaving them in my home while I wasn't there.

The installation went well. We've had this firm do tons of work for us and the quality is good.

The people at Van Hee were always courteous, friendly and always punctual. Their prices are fair.

I like that they showed up on time and they actually took the time to show me how to do the work, which will actually save me money later. I have already referred them to a lot of my friends.

Overall, we were happy with the service. The office called to say the serviceman was running late and would call us when he was dispatched to our job. The serviceman, Mike, was professional and friendly.
