We were extremely pleased with the work performed, the price quoted and the degree of professionalism demonstrated by the contractor and his team. The contractors arrived on time, performed their work and cleaned up after themselves. After obtaining serveral quotes from other contractors, we hired Jason and his company to perform the needed work and are very pleased with the outcome. The only fly in the ointment arose when on several occasions, I tried to contact Jason to discuss whatever concerns I had at that time. I had to go through the office staff, state the reason for my call and only upon his discretion would Jason return my call. This was quite offputting, however, this is my only concern with the company. By all means, I would recommend Major Homes to perform any and all of your home repair needs.

Summary: It is difficult to assign one single rating to the whole job since there were several phases and not all were executed the same. It is a good thing that the first step, the removal of the old roof shingles and sheathing and installation of new plywood and shingles went so well. The removal of the old stucco was a disaster. Had it been the first item done, I would have stopped the work. The install and quality of the new siding was wonderful. I can't say enough about the siding team led by Nick. The final gutter team were fast and also dis a good job. Details: The sale process was informative but ends up pretty pushy. Sign today and get an extra discount. Have your comparisons ready if you want to take that extra discount. Personally iI didn't feel comfortable with the sales pitch but I had other quotes to compare to. Major Homes price was high for the siding project but the product selected was unique. Getting an accurate start date for the job was difficult. We knew it would be several weeks before the start but getting at least 2 days notice was challenging for most of the phases. The various crews were all different workers and I suspect they are all contracted to Major Homes. For three out of the four tasks, we got good crews but whether you would get the same ones iI can't say. Roofing crew: Six workers and a supervisor. Quick professional and thorough. Clean up was good. Roofing job was very good. Demolition of old hard stucco: Crew was a bunch of incompetents. The supervisor disappeared for hours. Crew hung from ladders, no staging or scaffolding. I had to lend them snips to cut wire lath. Instead of prying off the stucco or cutting it, they banged the heck out of it with hammers and let large chunks fall. They failed to adequately protect existing new windows, AC sleeves and deck. We had several windows marred, one broken and an AC sleeve damaged. They had protective plywood but failed to move it it as the job progressed. I finally had to stop all work and call the president company. He was professional and responsive. The next day a different supervisor showed up and things were managed better but the damage was already done. Although it might be normal to expect some damage when removing old stucco, we had more that expected and still have many cracks in the interior plaster walls. To be fair, Major Homes offered to replace the damaged AC and sleeve but I declined since I did not want to go through the task of removing the old one. I was able to straighten out most of the damaged sleeve and we will live with it as is. Same for the windows. That could have been avoided altogether. Now being in shock, we dreaded the siding job. The siding team showed up and asked if the materials were delivered. Due to some sort of mixup, they weren't so the crew left for another day. Now for the really good stuff. The siding crew led by Nick and his coworker, Tommy were great. We discussed many fine points and they would not leave any detail unless it met both their and my approval. Repairs to the sheathing were done where needed. One of the reasons I selected Major Homes was for the option of the Glide Lock 29 siding. Having 29 foot panels meat that there were only three seams in the entire job! Finding all three is also a challenge. The trim work was exceptional. The contoured foam backing adds rigidity and I am less concerned about the possibility of any impact damage. Finally and almost anticlimactically, the gutter team installed seamless gutters.The contractor was professional and did a great job. Although I expected to be hit with extra costs for the inevitable 'surprises' we ran into, there were none. With the repairs to the sheathing, the house wrap, flat insulation and contoured insulation, our house is noticeably quieter and more comfortable. Since it was essentially uninsulated balloon framed, it would cool off quickly. Now it retains heat a lot better. So are we happy with the final product? Yes, very much so. Was it expensive. Yes, especially for the siding. How does it look? Street appearance and close up inspection is great. Would we use Major Homes again? If we were guaranteed that we would have the same roofing, siding and gutter crews, we wouldn't hesitate. If we had to use the same demolition crew, we would go elsewhere.

Major Homes Corp provided an horrible experience to my home in 2005. The aluminum finish work around my windows were done horribly, there gutter work was pitched incorrectly as well. They provided a young inexperience sub contractor to do the job.The caulking was done sloppy, and in a couple of years I can now see the improper work performed as it now turning darker. I have a window that has leaked for couple of years. They did not do the windows but provided the siding and trim. Your home is acceptable to a first time trial by major homes using a sub contractor that he may never use again. I would never recommend this company to anyone!

I like the fact that they're a family-run company. The person that came out to do the estimate was not a part of the family. He called to let me know that he was running very behind, and seemed very distraught. When he came, he even helped me hang an extension cord I was trying to put up to avoid injury. He was very kind.

No one picked up, no one returned our calls.

This is the second time I have used Major Homes and the service was perfect. The workers were polite and meticulous and the quality of the installation was superb. They arrived on time and worked the entire day. I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking quality work.

The work, once started went well. The masonry work was completed by Lenny's General Contracting Inc. The crew that performed the work, which on most days included the boss, arrived on time, worked full days, and were receptive to any inquiries. At the conclusion of the job in response to a question that I raised with Major Homes, they resealed the driveway to cover some concrete stains left after the work was completed. The remaining work was completed by Major Homes and its contractors and also done very well and with high quality. The improvement in the general appearance of the residence is dramatic and because of the recent improvements, the house should be much better insulated for the winter months. The only issue was the length of time that it took to complete the work.The conversations were started in December 2013 and the work was completed in September 2014. While I recognize that any outdoor work during winter months is not feasible, I had to re-initiate contact with the firm again in April 2014. There were also some fits and starts regarding the initial assortment of replacement bricks from which to choose, vacation scheduling of some of the sub-contractors, and one skylight that was not initially measured to fit. These were not major issues and it was indicated to me that some additional costs were not passed on in recognition of these delays. These delays were not something that would ever prevent me from utilizing Major Homes again for other jobs (the house is a work-in-progress ) nor from recommending them to my friends and neighbors , but it might be an area where better communication between the sales representative Bob (always receptive, knowledgeable, and responsive to issues) and the home office might better coordinate progress on jobs undertaken

Excellent on all but clealiness, I found so many nails after they finished the Job. I still recommend it.

The sales call was excellent and without pressure. Everything was explained properly. The materials used and the warranty was top of the line.The work was done in a timely fashion and exactly as contracted.The work crew was cooperative,experienced and professional, The cleanup was excellent.

The windows were done first in one day. The guys that did it were neat, efficient and friendly. The windows look great and are very efficient. The work was flawless. 3 days after the windows were installed they began work on the siding. The first day they striped off the previous siding and the house looked like a wreck. I was very interested in insulation so they put a layer of insulation over the entire house surface. Once this was done they began to install the siding which has its own layer of insulation. It took 3 days plus to finish this job. The guys were led by Nick and Thomas both who were incredibly open and professional. During the process i had phone calls with the supervisor, Al and Mitch, the owner. They were responsive to every detail. Lastly i had new gutters and downspouts installed. They were as well done as all the other jobs. My neighbors were very impressed with the workmanship, particularly the way the windows and doors were framed. It looks terrific. I endorse these guys 100%.

I contacted Major Homes to see if they would be able to fabricate some century-old windows in my home that had been damaged in a fire. Although they did not offer this service, they were extremely helpful and responsive. They replied to my inquiry which was place very late on a Friday afternoon almost immediately and followed up within 10 minutes with a suggestion for someone who could perform the kind of work I needed done. Excellent service. I wouldn't hesitate to hire this firm the next time I have some work to be done.

all the crews can on time,the roofer removed all the shingles very fast and installed the new one with flashing and a ice barrier .They cleaned up very good,no nails not one.He answerd any questions i had, very freindly workers. My house had hand split shingles the house is 45 feet long by 20 feet wide so there is 1000 of shingles they had it off in one day, and carted away every bit.Iwas amazed at the clean up. Now the siding crew came,well they did not stop ,showing me how they were going to install the siding,making sure every piece was straight no waves.Always making sure my wife happy with the job. Last was my gutters and leaders, it finished the house.He even call me at night to make sure we were happy with the job.There presentation of the materials they showed us was great.We are so happy with work that was done.Major Homes is a great company. I would use them again.

They did a good job in how they handled the overall situation and I was happy with the end result.

Our home roof was in bad shape after this winter. Mitch, the owner of Major Homes, came to our house to assess the damage. The gutters were hanging off the roof on the North side and the facer boards were splintered and away from the house wall. Mitch explained how the continual freeze and thaw broke up the slate at the edge of our roof. The conclusion was if we just fixed the gutters and facer boards, the rain would do damage to the wood and we would have the same damage in a year or two. The water damage was extensive and we wanted to make a claim on our home owners insurance. To prevent further water damage, Mitch protected the damaged area and wrote an estimate. We submitted the estimate. The insurance company responded and commented to us on the thoroughness of his estimate. The insurance estimate was just a few hundred dollars less than his estimate. We decided to use the money to offset the cost of a new roof. Removal of a slate roof is a difficult task. The crew chief came days before to review with us the site and how it needed to be protected. The actual removal went smoothly. Phase two was ready to go as the last slates were being removed. Mitch created a list that included a new roof exhaust fan mounted at no extra cost. It came with an adjustable thermostat. An extra roof vent was installed. Mitch described the new roofing materials being installed as the best quality products. We learned that the first covering over the wood roof was a vinyl material instead of the old tar paper. This was followed by a three foot ice barrier that ringed the entire edge of the roof. This barrier prevents any future ice damage. A drip cap sealed the edge of the roof. In every transition point, a layer of material was laid so that no water could settle in the corners of the roof. The shingles were a new type of composite. Instead of gravel which is the normal armor guard on composite shingles, a fiberglass armor is used. The fiberglass is much more reflective and keeps the shingle and roof cooler than the old gravel. In the contract we discussed which gutters would be replaced and which were repairable. I wanted a gutter placed over our entrance step because the water always froze on the steps. He added it at no charge. I had an issue with a dented piece of aluminum door molding at the garage door. He replaced it at no charge. After the job was completed the gutter over the front door still dripped on to the steps. The problem was corrected. We found another problem with a narrow strip of space between the roof and the gutter which can only be noticed from inside the attic. An appointment was made and the men came and fixed it. If it sounds like we were satisfied with the work we are. This is the second job where we selected Major Homes . We like how all communications get recorded in the contract. The contract is read and discussed and then signed. We feel that the more we know about the job and the more we inform the manager about our property details, the better the outcome. We had our own job manager and he made sure that all issues were covered. A neighbor was discussing with us the experience that they had with another company and how upset they were with the results. I told them that they hired the wrong company. This is the company to hire.

The overall experience and the end result was outstanding. Workers were professional at all times. They were punctual, polite, careful and very skilled at their work. Our home received a great facelift.

IT WENT PERFECTLY!!!! Well, Robert was the supervisor assigned to me. We went over the details of what I wanted, he gave valuable advice, and explained methods of payment, and schedule of payment. Robert then gathered his team together (outsourcing), and they came in at the times that were basically convenient to me. They worked quickly and efficiently, asked me if I had any questions WHILE they worked, pointed out things that had to be repaired (that saved me lots of trouble later on). VERY IMPORTANT---THEY DID NOT DO ANYTHING EXTRA WITHOUT ASKING ME FIRST! This means NO LAST MINUTE, SURPRISE CHARGES! The workforce would call me ahead of time to make certain I was home BEFORE coming over, and arrived on time. Some difficulty occurred with the cabinets, and the hinges. They came back and stayed with it until all was corrected. And if I found something wrong after the fact, men were assigned to return to refit what had to be done. Now, in the event they could not show up for whatever reason (an emergency, etc), I was telephoned immediately and informed, so there would be no unnecessary waiting by me. The results? A 1956 retro kitchen with warn out wood, outdated stove, and outdated (but still fairly good) oven was transformed into a modest, but modern 21st Century kitchen...and up to code. Very important-when you call and leave a message, SOMEONE ALWAYS GETS BACK TO YOU (usually the boss himself!) I would MOST DEFINATELY recommend Major Homes to anyone without the slightest hesitation. Good workers, skilled craftsmen, honest, and most importantly NOT SOME CHAIN STORE ENTERPRISE, BUT A LOCAL, NEIGHBORHOOD ESTABLISHMENT! Indeed, if you want a first class job done when it comes to your home, I strongly urge you to check out Major Homes first.

While they quoted me a job of over $22,500, they refused to provide me with a written estimate.

It went incredibly well. Joe Maletsky's efficient crew was onsite six days a week non-stop until the job was done. Essentially 3 bathrooms in 3 weeks. Often there were 4-5 workers in the house. And they worked really well together. There was a clever and friendly lead person in charge on site, Foni, while Joe was available via email or phone whenever needed. It was vital to be prepared for their whirlwind work by having on site all the materials (e.g. vanities, toilets, tiles) immediately after demolition work. Otherwise delays would have ensued. Joe guided the whole process in a calm, responsive and professional manner.

Windows installed ........everything was perfect. Polite and highly qualified. Clean up was superb. Excellent work and am using them again for the remaining windows.

Everything was perfect. This is my second contract with Major Homes, and I continue to be delighted. Whenever I had any questions, they were addressed promptly and service was on the exact schedule they projected. When the workers showed up in the morning, they were courteous and protected all the areas they would be traveling through and working in. Everything moved very efficiently and the entire job was done in a regular work day. They started at 8:30 and were out by 4:30. The install was very pristine, as I've come to expect from Major Homes. A couple of weeks later, in what ended up being a completely unrelated source of the problem, I had some leaking above one of the windows on my second floor. Russ still made a house call to inspect the exterior of the house and make sure there weren't any problems with the windows. I expect excellent clean work from Major Homes and I get it at a reasonable price, every time.

The contractors came on time. Four people showed up early and performed the work as described in the contract. They covered the work area well and was prompt to clean up. It was a very positive experience. Although the cost was a bit high but I believe it was worth it. Hopefully the finished roof will stay dry for many many years!

I called Major Homes for an estimate and which was scheduled promptly. Jason prepared a written estimate which was I found fair and included what was discussed. After a couple of weeks ironing out the fine points, we scheduled the work. They arrived on time and with a crew of 6. Tarps were set up to protect the house and the work began. The old roof had to be torn off and the any patching to the sub-structure took place. A new roof was installed and with the exception of the roof hatch and gutters, the project was completed in one day. The hatch needed to be built, but a frame was constructed on the day of the roof installation while the old hatch remained . The new hatch was ready a couple of days later and installed in about an hour. The leaders and gutters were put on a few days later. The roofing crew did a great cleanup job as well. They went over the space where the roof debris was (my driveway) not only with a broom but will a large magnet to collect any stray nails (for which my tires thank them). I would absolutely use Major Homes again and recommend them as truly professional.

After a month's delayed start, I was pleased to have the job fully completed in two days rather that the indicated five days. This was possible because two crews were sent to complete the job. All of the men on the crew were pleasant, cooperative and obliging. It was a pleasant experience dealing with Jason who was very personable and answered all my questions and explained to me in detail. I would not hesitate to do business with Major Homes in the future.

Jason was very courteous during the initial visit to discuss Major Homes' service/product offering. He shared a lot of information and took the time to address all of our questions/concerns. Once we agreed to proceed with the job, the windows took a few weeks to be delivered. Jason had estimated the job would take 1.5 days, which was spot on target. All of the windows were installed on day 1. The morning of day 2 consisted of repairing minor wall damage and installing the interior window framing. We were very pleased with the results, especially the new bay window that was installed in the living room. The team was also very responsible for cleaning up at the end of each day. We look forward to our next project, so we can have another opportunity to work with Major Homes again.

Like a dream. This company is a well oiled machine. I used Major Homes because I just wanted a new roof with zero aggravation. My new roof is perfect. I could not ask for anything more. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you.
