Description of Work: I had a big ol' list of complaints with my car, everything from A/C to hinky windshield wipers to funny engine noises and more. I brought my car in, and went over everything in detail with George. He listened! He wrote it all down! He asked questions! So right away I'm thinking "Wow. THIS is different!" After they checked out my car, George called me and went over every item that had been on my list -- what the problem was and the cost to fix. Money was def an issue, so he helped me decide what was important and what could wait. The final cost was exactly what George quoted me, and although paying $1000 was a little painful, I never felt ripped off, because the did a great job. (I didn't grade the price above, because I have no idea how it compares to other places.) They did keep my car a bit longer than initially estimated, but parts had to be ordered and July 4th fell right in the middle (plus I had told them there was no hurry). I've had the car back for five days, and so far everything is great. I love these guys -- they're professional, friendly, funny, and they know how to run a business. I'm really happy. A+

Description of Work: They changed the struts of my car that had been squeaking for months. Also change some bearing that had worn out. Only thing I would recommend is that they have pictures of parts actually changed so people can have better concept of parts.

Description of Work: About a month ago, I found my sweet little Subaru station wagon in need of help. The AC was not working properly, and the engine overheated when left to idle. Finding the right NYC repair shop was a big deal for me since I love that car dearly, and it has been with me through thick and thin. After a lot of online research, I discovered Manhattan Wheel Alignment & Automotive Diagnostic Center. I was attracted to the establishment because I could not find one negative comment on the two sites I rely on for unbiased reviews: Angie’s List and Yelp. As it turned out my Subaru needed a bit more help than I had initially thought – resulting in a four-figure estimate. Initially apprehensive, I spoke honestly to Manager, Aaron Gruber, and told him that this repair bill was, essentially, my “new computer”, so I had to be very cautious about the investment. With patience and diligence, he worked with me to explain what was wrong, why it had occurred and to insure I was aware of the importance of the work. He was patient and kind and allowed me to leave my car at his garage overnight, while I made the decision I decided to use their establishment and here’s why I’m glad I did: Four days after the work was finished, I was due to fly to Columbus Ohio for a trade show. I took the car to the airport and put it in the long term parking lot, only to find out that the flight on US Air had been delayed. I cooled my heels at the airport for over 7 hours before being told it was cancelled altogether and a seat on plane to my destination would not be available for 2 more days. I could not wait the two days and booking another flight, at the last minute, was not an option I could afford. I decided to drive. It was then that my true appreciation for the quality of the repair work, really surfaced. The car ran the l500 mile round trip to Columbus, OHIO, and back to New York, beautifully. I felt perfectly safe and, better yet, so did my little blue Subaru which hung in there, kept me cool as a cucumber and ran like a top with nary a move of the needle into the “hot zone”. I have always felt that my Subaru likes the road and enjoys a good ride and, finally, I feel that I have found the best and most accommodating care for it. From now on, I will use Manhattan Wheel Alignment & Automotive Diagnostic Center for the simple reason that I trust them – no small thing for a car repair service in a tough city. PS: They also returned the car to me beautifully cleaned, inside and out – which was much appreciated on my road trip. My challenge is to keep it that way.

Description of Work: I've been there twice. Once the car didn't start or hold a charge. They replaced the starter, and changed the oil, added additional fluids, cleaned the car, (exceptionally grimy), and I forgot what else, for 350.00. It was done in the same day. Second time, we needed an inspection, windshield wipers, oil change, and about 5 more things. Less than 125.00.
