In June, I hired Finer Fire Restoration to clean up some water damage that resulted from a burst pipe next door. It was an awful experience: - I paid in two installments. Both times, they paid the money out to the wrong business, resulting in them having to come back and recharge my card. Very unprofessional. - I was vastly overcharged. I was in a rush to fix the floor the first time, so just paid the amount that I was quoted. A separate flooding event unfortunately happened to me just three months later, resulting in similar damage. I decided to get quotes from two other vendors the second time and all quotes, without knowing what Finer Fire had given me, came in many thousands of dollars cheaper. - They left an absolute mess. I understand that the sanding aspect leaves some debris, but every surface - the floors, the counters, the shelves, and the walls - were covered with multiple millimeters of sawdust. There were large piles of it sitting everywhere. Not even a cursory effort to clean up was made. They also left all of the old floorboards and rusted nails on the roof and refused to come back and clean up their mess. - It has now been over six months since the initial work has been done, and they still have not returned my keys to me, despite my calling almost weekly. Absolutely outrageous. Do not do business with these people.

The estimated time was way off. It was supposed to be 5 days, but it ended up being 18 days. The soap and toothbrush holder is unusable because it's too high and too close to the mirror. Some of the work was sloppy such as the window frame, there are visible imperfections. Overall the work was good, but I had to be on top of them pointing things out that I wanted fixed. There were noticeable things that I don't think they would have fixed unless I addressed it.

The problem is this. I'm handicapped and these people thought that if they could show compassion, about my handicapped, telling me their own personal stories and how we relate, that gave them the right to steal. Well, It does not give anyone the right to steal. Just because a person is disabled does not mean they don't have camera's outside and inside their homes. When the company was notified, they began to tell me it was a misunderstanding and that" I wanted these items cleaned". Really? Taking items in their original boxes, and purses worth a lot of money is the only stuff I wanted clean?? Then they had the choice to bring it back or there would be a police report. I gave this company over 72 hours, and some of it did come back while, 8 weeks later, the rest still has not. The police were called, a report made and they were told not to come back on the property. In the meantime, they left there POD on my property with an expired permit from someone else's house, which expired in August 2016.
Description of Work: Finer was hired by my insurance company, due to a blockage that happen in my home 8 weeks ago. The came into my home on time. There was a crew, who all looked professional. They were suppose to remove the entire basement, putting the items in bags and placing them in the back of my yard. They didn't have the dumpster yet. The other materials that the insurance company thought could be saved was left behind and never was inventoried. They were suppose to clean them, write up an inventory and box them when Monday came. They never came back to finish the job.

Description of Work: The company did a mitigation/Dry out for a leak I had in my home. They came in immediately, and the owner was very pleasant and kind. Unfortunately, during the process, they insisted I don't be present in the room as the staff moved, ripped-up and removed the floor and some parts of the walls. As a result, I didn't witness the staff mishandling my furniture. This resulted in my furniture becoming damaged. I did bring it to their attention days after the dry out was completed and I was allowed back into the room; however, they didn't recognized their damage to my furniture which was surprising because they were so kind and pleasant prior to taking on the job. For this reason only, I have to give them a B. The Insurance company was in charged of paying the dry out/mitigation, and they even paid a small amount for the damaged furniture caused my Finer Fire's mishandling of the furniture. I still believe that Finer Fire should've been the ones paying for the damages not my insurance. My opinion ultimately is, the company members were polite and very quick to response initially, but the process didn't result in a pleasant outcome. Had it not been for my insurance picking up my furniture damages, I would be very upset. So, if your Insurance is involved and you're not paying, you may want to consider the company, just insist to be present to ensure the handling of your furniture.

They were very professional. They didn’t even allow us to go down and get contaminated. My 4-year-old has asthma and they didn’t want her to have any contact down. They were great in packing things, cleaning things and telling us to get out of their way. The insurance company dealt with the price. When it comes to their responsiveness, it wasn’t their fault since there were some issues with the insurance company because approvals and other stuff had to be met. I would definitely use their services in the future too.
Description of Work: Finer Fire Restoration did mold remediation for us in the beginning of June since we had a flooded basement. Their job was to come in and re-pack everything that was down in the basement. They cleaned everything to make it free of any mold. They re-packed all the boxes in the basement that were wet. They cleaned out all the content from the site. The insurance company got a pod which they put in my backyard. They emptied out the basement. They finished stripping down the basement completely for the mold remediation including my ceiling. The bathroom was also gutted out completely by them.

They came in and gave us and estimate and insurance agreed. The problem was that we think they were doing things that didn't need to be done with the lights, as they could have worked around them. Because insurance was paying they may have tried to pad the bill.
Description of Work: They had to repair a ceiling that got wet and the lighting also. They did some dry wall due to flooding.
