Sid was knowledgeable and quick

Sid has been a pleasure to work with. He's knowledgeable, responds very quickly and is enormously helpful. My husband and I hired Sid to help us through a building permit application process and he made a challenging process smooth and easy. When we discovered a structural issue during the project, Sid was extremely flexible and helped us to solve the issue fast enough so as not to delay our construction timeline. We would hire Sid again in a second for any other architectural needs.

We would recommend Sid without reservation. We called him because we needed drawings ASAP of our renovations to submit with our permit application. Although it was Christmas week, Sid was very accommodating and agreed to meet with us the very next day. He was very personable and knowledgeable of the requirements of our municipality. He gave us our drawings in two days and shortly thereafter we received our permits. We cannot say enough about how easy it was working with Sid. We would definitely use him for any project We may have in the future.

I'm a General Contractor in NYC and have used several architects over the years. I hired Sid because of the reviews that I read online and his proposal amount. I definitely didn't have the same experience that the other reviewers had. Sid was completely unresponsive, sometimes (many times) for weeks at a time. I had threatened to fire him to finally get him to respond. His knowledge of the rules and regulations was limited and sometimes completely wrong. I needed to get responses from my expediter on everything. His unresponsiveness extended our project by months and cost us thousands of dollars as well as a tremendous amount of stress. i would definitely NOT recommend him!

Sid was great to work with. Other Architects gave me outrageous quotes and offered a lot less than what Sid provided. The plans were completed quickly, responses to my buildings concerns were comprehensive, he helped coordinate with the different city offices and his recommendations for other services all came to be useful. I would definitely recommend Sid and I will only work with him on my next renovation.

We are doing a gut renovation and adding a 4th bedroom to an apartment in Manhattan. Sid was hired as our architect and was instrumental in getting through the approval process at the Board and City level. He was timely in his response, detailed in his drawings and provided innovative solutions when problems arose. He was also extremely fair in price and looked out for our best interest at heart. He handles himself professionally and is able to deal with the contractors, building architect, designers on our behalf. I recommend Sid without hesitation and this was a large fairly complex project.

Sid was an absolute pleasure to work with! My experience with him from beginning to end was seamless and easy. Sid was beyond helpful, knowledgeable, consistent and efficient. He was always reliable and prompt in our daily correspondences concerning the project at hand. We had a tight deadline and Sid was able to accomplish it all in less time then I even thought possible. In addition to all of this he is also a very sweet and wonderful person to work with (which is something rare nowadays). I had tons of questions and Sid was always understanding and eager to assist. I will most definitely be using him again in the future if needed.

quick and accurate

Sid was extremely knowledgeable. He was always quick to respond, and was willing to work around our somewhat inflexible schedule. Helped prepare us for our Architectural Review Board meeting, and was extremely helpful in guiding us through the process. All deadlines that were in our contract were met. My one negative is that full size copies of our plans weren't included in the cost. This was a miss on our part as it was clearly stated in our contract. I wouldn't hesitate to leverage him for future projects and would recommend him to friends and family.

Sid Schlomann was helpful and clear in explaining the byzantine New York City Department of Buildings permit process. He works very fast and came prepared to take measurements of my place when we met. We met on a Friday and I got the first draft drawings by Monday. I like that he charges a flat rate instead of by the hour.

Sid Schlomann of SI Design was a pleasure to work with. We were in need of quick action to obtain a permit and begin renovation of our kitchen and our bathroom in our apartment in NYC. Sid returned my initial call promptly, clearly explained what needed to be done (we were novices at this), met with us, measured, and drew up our plans carefully, beautifully and in lightning speed. We cannot recommend him highly enough. Sid will be the first person I call should we need to renovate again.
