Ceriello Electric

FULL DISCLOSURE: After gut renovating an apartment a few years back, I am gun-shy of all contractors and vendors. So, I enter into these business dealings only when absolutely necessary. That said, my experience with Ceriello Electric has restored faith that perhaps there are honest, quality people working in the business of home improvement. Frank arrived on the early side of the scheduled two-hour window. I showed him what the issues were and he quickly went to work and was very smart and practical about his approach to some real electrical problems. After he finished with the main issue of the fuse box and replacing several switches and rerouting some power, I showed him some outlets and other minor issues around the apartment that need a little professional tending to and he quickly repaired all the needed outlets. And lastly gave some suggestions on bulbs and such, just to make things a little better. Frank was great! He is exactly the kind of guy you hope for when hiring a vendor. Overall my experience with Ceriello, from initial call to job complete was aces!

They want $10,500 for the job. The price is ridiculous. It's a 1 day job. Highest estimate I have gotten yet, and a clear case of hoping I wasn't smart enough to know better.

I trust them very much, but only thing is that they are expensive.

Ceriello were very professional and punctual. The quality of the service they provided was great. I only wish they offered a broader range of products and pricing (for intercoms), but the quality of the product they provided appears to be very good and their technician (Frank) did a very thorough job in installing it and ensuring everything was working properly. I definitely recommend these guys.

The ceiling fan in my bedroom had always been erratic (light coming on by itself, so I'd had to disable that function) and recently had stopped working altogether. Since it was a two-year old Hunter I didn't think the fan itself was the problem. I rent, and the wiring in my brownstone has always been worrisome to me and my landlord had asked me to use a licensed electrician for any fan work. The electrician from Ceriello (competent and personable) arrived promptly and first tested the remote control battery. Dead. He switched out the battery from the living room fan remote and my bedroom fan started to work. So far, it looked like an expensive call for something I should have done for myself. But while he was checking my kitchen light fixture (and correctly diagnosing the issue - a cheap replacement for the fixture would fix it) the fan light went on by itself. He knew immediately that some neighbor's fan remote was on the same frequency as mine, so he took the fan partially apart and reset my frequency and remote. Problem fixed. Then he went with me at my request to my basement electrical meter and told me what kind of load I could put on my lines (for future appliances, etc.) I had always wanted to know that. He also said the wiring situation in my place was fairly good, so my anxieties were abated. Bottom line, electricians are expensive, but I was paying for the expertise and the peace of mind. You don't mess with electrical issues in an older building. And now I have a reference for my landlord when she needs to do something bigger in the building itself.

These guys are great. Totally professional. Came to provide a free onsite estimate and provided a guaranteed price. Did great, clean work!

The lights in our apartment had been flickering for a couple of days, so on October 25, 2011, I made an appointment with Ceriello Electric to check my fusebox on October 27 in the afternoon. I was very lucky to secure this appointment, because on the morning of October 27 the lights did not just flicker: they went dead completely. The power outage affected not only our apartment, but also my landlord's apartment. On October 27, Rudolph from Ceriello arrived punctually. He was quickly able to determine that the problem was not in our fusebox, but rather in the street wiring, the maintenance of which is the responsibility of Con Edison. I had made an emergency appointment with Con Edison, on the morning of October 27, and to our pleasant surprise the Con Ed technicians showed up extremely promptly, indeed at the very same time as Rudolph. The Con Ed technicians waited for Rudolph to provide them with his assessment; they then efficiently repaired the damaged wiring and restored our electricity. I am grateful to both Ceriello Electric and Con Edison for their punctuality and professionalism.

I called around 11:00 AM to ask for an appointment with an electrician. The reply, the "scheduler" was out for lunch; the "scheduler" will call-back when he returns. No call-back. I called again about 4:00 PM. Now, the scheduler had gone home; the scheduler didn't have time to call- back. The scheduler apparently didn't have time to call-back the following Monday, either. Problem solved by another electrician.

The entire process went so smoothly. This provider runs a very professional business. A representative from Ceriello came first and did a walk through with me to discuss the scope of the project. He answered all my questions and took detailed notes. An estimate was furnished to me within 2 business days and I approved it and set a date. The office was on top of the job and very good with followup to confirm the date and time. The staff in the office was prompt about providing my coop managing agent with any necessary insurance documentation The technicians arrived right on time. They were polite and professional and carefully set up their work area. We hit a couple of minor snags and they clearly and patiently explained what the issues were and what my options were to resolve the issues they found. Afterwards, they thoroughly cleaned up the work areas and replaced any furniture they had moved back to their original places. As a new home owner, this was my first time dealing with electricians and I could not have been happier.

We called with an emergency and they came immediately. They were professional and friendly and knew what they were doing. We contested part of the bill (a small part) due to them having to go back to the workshop for a part--we asked to be credited for that time. They agreed, so the work was good and we found them honest and willing to work with us.

He was very knowledgeable and professional. He arrived on time and did an excellent job. The workmanship was very good, and the price seemed very fair. I would rate him highly and would use him again in the future; in fact, they are coming next Friday to do some more work.

Frank arrived promptly. He was hired to install an exterior fixture for the building, but determining which wires those dead wires were connected to took some doing. He was able to diagnose the problem and recommend an effective solution. We found him knowledgeable and easy to work with.

We were happy with them. They showed up. They were communicative. They did a good job. They did what they said they were going to do. They worked well with the electric company guys to get things right. They were top notch. Their price was a little on the high end. You could have definitely done it cheaper. The quality of the work was good as far as I could tell. I think they did a good job. Their responsiveness was very good. I would use them for any kind of electrical work. I have had them do other small jobs and every time I have used them, I have been satisfied.

Electrician arrived on time, was very professional, warned me when he run into a small issue and asked whether it should try to fix it or I could live with it, and was very consciencious overall.

These guys are terrific! First, we had a visit from a totally delightful and professional person to do the estimate. After we got the estimate, we actually changed our minds (nothing to do with their price -- just something we probably should have thought of before but didn't) and asked him to come out again. They would have preferred (of course) to discuss changes over the phone but when we said we'd really prefer another face-to-face contact, it was done!! The employee in the office was a total pleasure to work with and was totally responsive -- and, joy of all joys -- actually did everything he said he was going to do and called back when he said he would! When the two electricians came to do the work, our positive experience continued. They were smart, efficient, professional -- and extremely nice! They talked through the whole job with us before starting so we knew exactly what was going to happen. Their work was precise and neat -- and they cleaned up perfectly before they left. When we asked if we could possibly tack on one extra task that was not in the contract -- namely, replacing a light switch -- the answer was "no problem." It was done in a flash. Need an electrician in NYC? Ceriello should be your choice!!

It was great. The technician took down the fan and then suggested putting up lightbulb plug in its stead. We had to take it down because we're having a loft built in my son's room. So he did that. Then he came to do the chandelier we'd bought. First he figured out that we didn't actually need it rewired for American wiring. He put it in the dining room and I realized to my horror that I didn't like it there. So I asked him to remove it and put it up in the hallway (each time removing the fixture that was already there). He was incredibly nice about this and did it without making me feel like the idiot I was. He struck some problems with the hallway fixture and had to go to his truck twice but stayed cheerful even though it got late.

They are very good at diagnosing electrical problems. They have intelligent people figuring out what the problem is. They do quality repairs. They are also very punctual.

Everything went well. They arrived on time, did good work, and charged me less than their estimate.

He's very reliable. They always do a good job and they stand by their job.

Courteous and professional on the phone, worked neatly and efficiently; charged me less than they'd quoted on the phone.

The work was fine, but it shocked me that it was nearly $700. I thought it would be a couple hours. I think it would be helpful to know what he charges an hour before other members call him.

The were timely; gave an accurate estimate; good workmanship. In addition, the fellow who came to the job was chatty, friendly, and fun - an old fashioned tradesman. He discovered something had been wrongly wired and it took a little detective work (and an additional visit) to fix it -- he clearly enjoyed the challenge as was determined to fix it right.
