This was my first time using Ceriello and I chose them because of the generally good reviews on Angie's List. The repair issue was a malfunctioning circuit breaker that kept tripping. When I made the appointment, I described the problem and told them that I suspected the breaker would need to be replaced. The technician arrived on time and took about 10 minutes to check out the problem. He confirmed it was the breaker and then advised that he would need to get materials for the repair. He then left for around 45 minutes to go to Lowes to buy a standard breaker. The actual repair on his return took another 10 or 15 minutes for swapping out the breaker and checking the work. In total I was charged for about 1.5 hours of labor and about $15 for materials. I give Ceriello high marks with respect to responsiveness when scheduling the appointment, and punctuality and professionalism for the technician who responded. This wasn't a highly technical job - basically switching out the breaker, but I'm sure the quality is also fine as we've had no further issues. Where I was disappointed however, was with respect to billing. Having told them that the issue was a breaker, I don't understand why this item wouldn't be stocked on the truck - a standard circuit breaker isn't exactly an exotic electrical material. Charging for the technician to drive to Lowes seems like a way of driving up the bill on a small job. Also, the actual cost for the breaker on the Lowes website is only about $6 so there was a more 200% markup there too. I get that service providers have to charge disproportionately more for these types of small jobs, particularly given the hassles of driving and parking in Brooklyn. Given this and Ceriello's billing rates, I would have had no objections to a bill closer to $125 even though the total job time was around 30 minutes. Being charged for driving time to purchase an item they should have come with and being upcharged that much on the materials doesn't seem entirely customer friendly. I manage 14 rental apartments and am currently developing a mixed use property. I am always in need of an electrician for small repairs and the occasional gut renovation of an individual apartment. I am also in the process of looking for a good and reasonably priced licensed electrician to bid on the much larger development project. For me, this small repair was a first step toward considering Ceriello for this work in the future. While it wasn't an entirely negative experience, it wasn't entirely positive either, such that I'm going to keep looking. I am also going to be more wary of providers that charge based on time rather than job content as this leaves the customer vulnerable to over-charging.

He worked seamlessly with other trades. He informed us that the additional circuit box had addition circuits for future use. Mr. Cerillo was always on time and good to his word. We will be doing additional work very soon and will call Cerillo for the first estimate.
Description of Work: Our kitchen was gutted down to the studs and sub-floor. Mr. Cerillo installed a separate box for the new kitchen since we added addition appliances as well as replaced old ones. New wiring was needed as well as additional outlets, pot lights, and under counter lights.

We didn’t use him, we kinda held off on that but he did recommend a gentleman to put out air conditioning in. The price was kinda high for one grounded outlet but we know that electricians are expensive and we really didn’t get other estimates. We were kinda just dropping our line to the basement directly to the floor and put it in that way. My husband thought they were fair. I think he was gonna give him a break to do an extra line for the office or something. But we really didn’t need it at the time so he just told him that he’ll figure out an alternative for that line.I think he's a professional guy.

They were prompt, however they didn't seem to grasp the easiest way to get this job done. The fellow who came was discussing very complicated and what would be expensive ways of relocating the lines and meters. He didn't seem to see all the possibilities. This job may be too involved for this company. I have used them on another job with simpler work and they were great.

Incredibly kind, professional, careful service. My problem was fixed, and safe, at the end of the service. Took longer than anticipated, but I understand (because I was home) why and that the service provider took the time to make sure that the future electrical situation was safe. Highly recommend this company!

They were very efficient and nice. I wasn't disappointed with them on anything. I was getting a little astounded by how much stuff seems to be costing. It just seemed high for what we are asking for. But, I don't know whether it really is or isn't. I just think they are too high.

Perhaps insisting on a guarantee is essential.
Description of Work: We were having a problem with flickering lights in our ceiling recessed lighting system. We contacted Ceriello Lighting, and two workers came on time on the scheduled day. They replaced a battery and some bulbs; the cost was $214.59. The lights worked, but the next day, the lights began flickering again. We recalled Ceriello, and two different workers came, and this time they replaced the on/off switch unit that controls the lights. They then gave us a bill for $200. We protested that the work done on the previous visit had not been effective; why should we pay the same amount again for a job that had not solved the problem? The workers called the owner. When he spoke to me, he asked, "Did the lights work while my guys were still there?" I repled they had, but the workers had only been there for about ten minutes after the job was done. He said all that mattered was that the lights had worked. He told the second team to reduce the price for the second call to $185.

We like everything about their service. They were very prompt in coming and giving the bid. When the work actually started, they were quite accurate in terms of actual cost and or very close to the estimate. The person that came to do the bidding was actually the vice president, he was very knowledgeable and explained very well in terms of what would be involved and why the expenses where going to be around that cost. The other thing we like about them was that they are very good in cleaning up everyday and they've able to secure required permits. They took care all of that for us as well as the inspection. They were just wonderful that I highly recommend them, so I thought they did excellent job and they also have good references. We feel that the price was fair. They were very responsive to any followup corrections on the work that needed to be done.

BRONX-RESIDENTS AND SMALL JOB REQUESTS BEWARE: I contacted this electrician shortly after Sandy with a clear list of items to be completed. I was contacted swiftly and told they were unable to attend to it at the time due to hurricane-related needs. Impressed by their responsiveness and reviews on this site, I replied and said I could wait until timing was better. But when I followed-up after the Christmas break (a month and half later), I was told I couldn't be served because my job list was too small, and that visits to the Bronx required at least a day's worth of work. This seemed like something I could've easily been told in November, not in January.
Description of Work: Request for: 1) Replace a dimmer switch (for incandescents) with a similar switch that I've bought that can be used with fluorescents. 2) Repair a non-functioning alleyway lamp (that has a motion detector) 3) Repair a broken bulb-mount inside a closet.
