What a great experience considering, I was cold and desperate. Sal was an absolute blessing. Prior to coming, over the phone and via video call, he walked me through some troubleshooting steps with the pilot in my boiler, in the hopes of saving me the cost of repair. Who does that?! I also sent him a picture of the possible part that could also have been the issue. He had to come and he came as promised, changed the part that was changed only 90 days ago by a different plumber! That was it! I have heat now, which is all that matters. It cost less than we thought and it could have been worse. I will use him again should I have another issue, hopefully no time soon. I am so thankful that Sal called me! Happy and Warm in Queens!

When my houses boiler suddenly stopped working on a cold NYC winter night, Sal/Advanced Contractors contacted me within minutes of requesting a call-back from various experts via a hub website. He quickly assessed the problem on the phone, asked for my address, said that the visit might be free if no issue was found, and then gave me a 30 minute ETA (for 8:30pm). He arrived and called me at 8:29pm. Sal immediately got to work, and began triaging the problem methodically, first trying the most common solution to my boiler's pilot light issue. Although the boiler started right away, Sal would not leave until the boiler shut off (upon reaching the set temperature) and then started again on its own. Unfortunately, the first approach was not the fix here. So Sal tried a more complicated fix (because of the design of my older Pennco boiler), requiring him to get flat on his back and really wiggle his way into the very small work area to replace a part of my boiler's pilot. Sal turned the boiler back on, and again waited until the boiler shut off on its own, and then the pilot light stayed on on its own and then turned back on on its own. This time it worked! A house full of cold children and worried adults got its heat back within 90 minutes of first hearing from Sal, who happened to be nearby. While Sal was waiting to make sure his fix actually worked, he reviewed my boiler, pointing out things that I needed to stay on top of to make sure my boiler continues working. It was like a master class in boiler maintenance for me as a layperson. After I specifically asked him, Sal gave me some honest advice about the possible future of my aging boiler, both the short term and the longer term. You could sense that Sal was speaking to us as if we were family, and that this professional did not mind sharing his 40+ years of experience with brand new fans. Sal was efficient, communicated everything going on, predicted what would be happening, and why the boiler probably shut down to begin with. He was not pushy at all and did not mention the cost for his help once until I asked at the end of the job. Anytime you have to call for an emergency repair such as the one we needed for the boiler, you immediately expect a long, expensive, and even suspect night if the person you contact happens to be a bit shady. Sal/Advanced Contractors was the complete opposite. The experience was fast, cost far less than I thought it might be, and provided a solution and information that made me more knowledgeable while making sure my family would sleep in a warm house. I can't say enough great things about Sal and his last-minute, late night work on my boiler. Because Sal was available, nearby, extremely knowledgeable, prepared with supplies and solutions, and a consummate professional, my family has heat again and we now know how to take better care of our boiler until we must replace it. You will not regret using Sal/Advanced Contractors for whatever needs you may have that he can help with! And guess what?!?! He called me the next morning just to make sure my boiler was still working. Like, who does that anymore?!?! Sal does, that is who!

Advanced Contractors originally helped me with a pump issue back in Feb 2023 and I was happy with the same day service, though I already had to pay a lot for the work. Around Dec 2023, my tenant complained that the pump was making an insane amount of noise and asked if I could have Advanced Contractors to come and see what was going on with this pump. They told me they believed someone someone might have re-wired everything --- which certainly did not happen nor could I even fathom for what purpose. In short, they said they tried a couple of things and could not figure out what the issue was but had some ideas of next steps. The entire time, they kept explaining to me that trust was a big part of how they perform their services, and that they were not going to hang me out to dry. I said okay, and they promised me they were going to fix it the next 2 days...and then they ghosted me. What was usual quick calls back, or text messages returned within minutes or hours....now nothing. I am not saying they scammed me, but it seems like they charged a lot for something they thought was straight forward, and when it turns out to be something more complex, they no longer stand by their work. IMO, they charged me a ton of money for a new pump, and it did not even last a year.

Sal was knowledgeable as what was needed and took care of the issue right away.

Technician was straightforward, gave me an honest evaluation and advised me to call manufacturer. My water heater was still under manufacturer warranty so they are sending me part and plumber for free. Best of all the tech didn't charge me for visit!

Sal was one of the best plumbers that I ever worked with in my 20 years owning a home. He came in and did a free evaluation. He actually was able to diagnose the likely problem from the phone but needed to confirm in person. My very agreed water heater needed to be replaced but he gave me a flat price with labor included and in a couple of hours the unit was replaced and I was up and running again. He will be my go to plumber from this day forward. Highly recommend!
