 + -1 moreI had 5, 22 year old windows in my condo and was thinking of replacing them. I saw something on Angie's list for $2000 for 5 windows so it was the exact amount. I had gotten a quote for quality windows before so I knew this was a pretty good deals. I could have gone the home depot route and spent a lot less, but I did want quality. The timing of the offer was good. They had to add a little more to the charge since my condo association requires a certain pattern in the window. Besides having to wait over a month for the windows to come in, I was satisfied with the experience.
Description of Work: I got 5 windows replaced in my 2 bedrooms in my condo.

 + -1 moreFirst Al came by and spent almost an hour explaining what would be done and how. He also brought a demo window and used it to shw me how to operate it. He was ver patient. I placed the order for 20 windows and was told it would take about three weeks to get the cstom windows made and delivered to Window King. Sure enough, they called three weeks later to make the appointment for installation. Unfortunately, Hurricane Sandy struck and I had no electricity. I called to postpone the installation and Window King was very flexible. The actual installation took place two week later. Two fellows came to do the job. They were here for two days. They were very professional and left the house just as they found it. I am so happy with my new windows

I was given a very fair price for high quality windows with installation included. The windows were manufactured specifically for our house and the measurements were checked over twice to make sure they would be perfect fit when they arrived. The installers came and put the windows in very quickly and they look great. I am very happy and I think I'll be calling them back in the spring to have the rest of my house done. Highly recommended, thanks!

 + -1 moreThey are professional, caring and efficient from beginning to end. The communication is excellent and the workmanship non to par. They sent 3 workman who were courteous, respectful, efficient and clean up after themselves which is important to me. They installed 4 windows for us which took approximately 4 hours and it was done without a problem. I have another 6 windows, plus doors that need to be installed and when I'm ready I and definitely calling Window King to take care of it all for me. Service and workmanship like this you don't find much of nowadays. I highly recommend them to people who are looking for quality and as close to perfection as you can get. hanks!!!!!

 + -1 more(This is actually Sarah; my brother David and I share an Angie's List account.) Window King got back to me promptly and sent a rep out to my house to measure everything and give me an estimate. Super-nice guy, whose name I'm rudely forgetting at the moment. I placed the order, and Jose came to measure my windows -- very prompt. Waiting for the windows to come in took a while, but once they came in, I got scheduled, and the job was completed in two days -- would have been a single day, which given the money-pit-ness of my house generally is a miracle in and of itself, but we had to wait for one last window to come in, and then Sandy happened. The job itself was relatively unintrusive as these things go (I work at home, so I don't say that lightly). The team left the house as neat or neater than they found it, and the work looks great; everything is square and plumb, the caulking is neat, etc. This is a family business that takes great pride in their work, as they should. They took an interest in me as a customer and made sure I understood everything I needed to. We did have a few scheduling blips, but I'd still use Window King again.
Description of Work: Measuring, estimate, and installation of nine windows (2 non-standard size) plus sliding patio door, screens, et al.

From my initial contact with Window King to the completion of the job, I have no complaints whatsoever, and I am very pleased and satisfied with my new windows and warmer home as a result. I'm located in the northeast and installation was first booked for Oct. 30, the day Hurricane Sandy hit. I was pleasantly surprised to be offered a replacement date the same week - Nov 3. Rafael and Ralph were on time, courteous, quick and clean. Since this was my first purchase and sevice through Angie's List, I was skeptical. I am very satisfied with Angie's List and Window King. My friends were waiting to evaluate my experience so that they can now join Angie's List and get the many services that are offered including replacement windows.

Was like talking to a person from my own family. All aspects of window job covered - know their business. Scheduled appmts on time. Sales person professional. Delivery expectation timely which is also impressive as there was a long drive from the Bronx to Staten Island. Intallation took one day and satisfied. Windows are strong and look amazing! Neighbors already talking! Received so many compliments.

 + -1 moreThe salesperson, Ron, came promptly each time. He knew what was best suited for my windows. Therefore he earned my trust in neither over selling nor undervaluing my needs for the house. The technicians were very courteous and professional. I especially liked the main technician, Raphael, as he was quick, clean and thorough. So far so good. I had additional windows put in on September 19th for my basement. The job was well done. However, The manufacturer omitted one of the window screens. The office deducted money for this until they can send in the replacement. I am still waiting for the screens to come in. Basement windows with dryer attachment totaled $1200 before deduction for the screen. Both jobs were done well. Waiting for salesperson to get back to me on porch window quote with construction and the replacement for the screen. I expect the response should come soon. Otherwise, it might be a B+ rather than an A for response. I got the screen within the week. But I had to install it from the inside on our own. I got some response about the porch. However, the follow-up afterwards is taking some time. Maybe after the Sandy storm is making it very busy for everyone.

 + -1 moreThe Sales Rep Al Ferraro brought a sample window which was being offered in the Angie's List Special of 5 windows for $1999. He demonstrated in detail the new energy savings window. Even though I had 2 different sized windows there was no additional price charge for that. The additional 6th window was offered at the same price as one of the 5 listed. He explained that any rotted wood replacement and trying to match the existing color of capping aound the widows would be no extra charge. He explained that it would take about 3 weeks to order and receive shipment of the new windows. Also, the $25 per window Angie's List Coupon would be accepted for the 6th window as well as the 5 being offered. Installers promptly came to measure the windows about a week later. An installation date was arranged after about 3 weeks when Window King received the new windows. Other than a missed communication as to arrival, the team of 3 Installers came prepared to complete the work. It had no affect on me because I had planned the entire day for installation. The team led by Chris explained the job they were going to do in detail and proceded to work. They continually cleaned and vacumed any dust and debris that accumulated during the course of the job. They were courtious and professional throughout the whole job keeping me informed and showing me their progress. Bottom line: Windows look GREAT. Job WELL DONE.
Description of Work: Replacement of 6 pre-existing double hung windows with new energy saving windows in 2 existing bays facing street. There were 2 different sized windows the center ones in each bay were larger the the 4 outer windows. Add additional grids to lower half of all 6 windows. Replace any rotted sills or framing. Color matching and replacement of beige/chocolate aluminum capping around windows. Complete calking interior and exterior. General cleanup and removal of old windows.

 + -1 moreA two man crew came to my home at about 8:45 (scheduled time 9:00am). One preped the window and the other installed. I had 5 windows replaced. Both men knew what they were doing and were very professional. It took them about 6 hours to complete the work and they put up the curtain brackets and hung the new curtains for us. They cleaned all the debris as they worked. They were methodical and knowledgeable and helpful. My windows are beautiful and I enjoyed their company. Please let the crew know that we appreciate them from the bottom of our hearts. I'm so sorry I forgot their names (I am typing this from work and don't have my journal).

 + -1 moreThe job was done immaculately, efficiently, and with great respect for our property. The two technicians always treated us with respect. This is a very old house, and they took all of the old moldings around the window off carefully and put them back superbly, once the new windows were installed. I can't say enough about the skill level and care that these workers extended. I can only conclude that they represent the business well, and the family-owned business is serious about "excellent service." It demonstated to me that the business works as a well-informed team. The house was vacuumed each time any dirt was made, and they always placed a drop cloth prior to going to the next window. It was really a joy to watch.
Description of Work: I contracted with Window King to install 6 windows in my mother-in-laws's home. I researched the reports on Angie's List and determined that I wanted to give Window King the job. Upon calling the office, I scheduled an appointment and the Sales Representative, Al, showed up exactly on time. That was very refreshing. He explained to us the type of windows he offered and used a model to demonstrate all of the features of the windows, and he answered any questions that we had. These windows were being installed in a home for an 86-year old lady who needed the explanations to be basic and to the point, and they were. Al told us that we would be called to schedule an appointment for a window technician to come to our home to do the exact measurements. Sure enough, we were called the next day, and we set up the appointment. Edgar, the technician, came to the house and performed all of the measurements, and after much thought, we asked him to add two more windows to the original scope of the work.. He said that was no problem and after he left, I contacted the office and spoke with Joanne who was so kind and helpful that she just added the two additional windows to the original contract, and emailed me a new one, making the paperwork effortless. We were told that the windows would take about three weeks to arrive, once ordered, and that, too, was very precise. The day of the installation, two technicians came to our home, Edgar and Al (not really sure of the spelling of his name, so I abbreviated it to Al.) They immediately got to work - it was a threatening weather day, and before you knew it, 6 of the 8 windows were installed without a drop of rain.....they were focused and worked well together. Once the rain began, they were able to install the remaining two windows, one of which was the bathroom, so rain was not an issue, and the other was a small pantry, which was completed without any effort. Both technicians were so polite, skilled, and neat, that I really believed that they were part of my family doing work for me. They extended the same care to this home that I would expect they would do for their own. It was really a great pleasure having them come to us.

 + -1 moreI cannot compliment this company enough. From the sales pitch to installation, everything was professional, thoughtful, and smooth. Ron, the salesman that came to our house, was everything a good salesman should be: knowledgeable, clear, warm, thorough, engaging, trustworthy, and respectful. Even though we were only having 5 windows installed, we felt valued and important. He came back when we wanted to explore some other arrangements and seemed happy to do so. Overall, a great experience with him. The windows are of excellent quality and we liked that we were supporting a nearby company. We paid a little more to have them insulated, which raised the price but not dramatically. 5 double hung, replacement vinyl windows installed for 1700, we found to be an excellent deal given the quality of the windows compared to other estimates that we got, which wanted to charge more for a lesser quality product. We are going to do the whole house with these windows and with this company. Because the windows are all custom ordered, installation would take at least three weeks. However, we were pleasantly surprised when we got a call two weeks early that they were ready. The windows are assembled on the spot to ensure an accurate fit. Installers arrived early and were done ahead of schedule. (I kept them waiting because I was running errands and assumed it would take them longer- whoops, sorry.) Installation was clean and quick. They gave me a tutorial on how to use the windows, which was helpful. From start to finish, an excellent experience. I HIGHLY recommend this company and the windows that they install.

 + -1 moreIt was a pleasant experience from my husband meeting with Ron for an estimate to Rafael and Chino completing the work. I would definitely hired them again.
Description of Work: We had eight windows replaced; 2 sliders windows and 6 double hung windows. 7 of the windows are Okna D-800 Enviro-Star deluxe windows with cherry laminate wood with brushed nickel hardware and 1 Okna D-500. All the windows have a u-factor of 26. The workers arrived around 9:00am and they work until after 7:30pm. They were very professional and friendly and willing to answer any questions and//or concerns we had. They removed and replaced all the old frames, changed the old sills as needed and put wood trimming around all the windows. They removed all debris and cleaned all the rooms. The windows look amazing and we haven't had any problems with water leaking.

 + -1 more2 workers arrived onsite about 10am and completed the work in very short order - before 2pm. The windows are very nice. Units came with some damaged screens but the workers fixed the damaged unit onsite the same day. The trim work I wanted saved was kept and reinstalled without damage. Outside trim "wraps" were done exceptionally well - was pleasantly surprised at the return done against the house with the outside wrap. Only critique was that the caulking was alittle sloppy.

 + -1 moreThe estimate and installation process went very well and we are very happy with the finished product. They do seem to have some minor issues with scheduling as we were initially told our install would occur on January 16th but when I called to confirm the week prior I was told that was the date on which the windows were expected to be delivered to the facility. We then worked out a new install date of Thursday, January 19th which meant having to arrange taking a day off work. Then, on Wednesday, January 18th, I got a call at work from our neighbor who told me the installers were at our house - a day early. While it was a frustrating the situation did get sorted out and the installers returned to our home the next day and completed the work very efficiently.
Description of Work: We had two basement windows installed in our 1923 house. One window was customized to accommodate a dryer vent.

 + -1 moreRon from window king came in to give us an estimate to replace three windows in the sun-room. He was professional and friendly and answered all our questions. Our sunroom has 6 windows and we were replacing only 3 - we wanted to make sure it would all look consistent. We asked specifically about the blinds - since we had bought new wood blinds and didn't want to replace them - he said they it would not be a problem and it would look exactly they way it did now. Their crew followed up with us proactively to set up time and their guys came in on time. They were polite and complied with our request to cover the furniture and walkway so that the floors wouldn't get messed up. Then the installer looked at the window and said our blinds couldn't fit the same way since this window had a narrower trim - so the blinds would just out a couple of inches. We called Ron who said it wasn't a big deal if the blinds jutted out. We told him it wasn't his decision. We called the window covering company and they asked for 110$ to come and just take a look at this stuff. After much haggling and many calls back and forth - Marie (the owner) deducted $100 from the total. In summary - their crew did a decent job (though only time will tell) - but be careful when you get a quote. Have them put everything in writing.
