Overall, I was very disappointed in dealing with this person. Upon arrival he introduced himself and announced he was a Viet Nam Vet and a Christian. He had his younger brother along as his assistant. I explained our concern of the gurgling and vent problem in the kitchen sink and the need to replace a knob on our laundry sink faucet. He looked things over and left to "get parts." That took about two hours. He returned and then had to leave for lunch, "Because, I am a diabetic so I have to eat regularly." Upon his return he worked on the kitchen sink and vent underneath. He also replaced the pipe on the hot water section of the laundry tub faucet. He had purchased the wrong size knob so he deemed it necessary to come back the next day after he bought the right one. Upon his return the next day, we looked at the necessity/costs of doing some additonal work of replacing a waterline, then reviewed the work he had done. I have a few issues with Mr. Peter's service and demeanor. 1.) I found interaction with him upsetting at best. In particular, his demeaning treatment of his brother. In fact, I found the younger brother to be polite and wanting to help and share information. It was obvious this young man had some challenges and Mr. Peters was embarassed by that. I would suggest the Christian side of Mr. Peters did not shine through in his treatment of his co-worker. 2.) The inordinate amount of time he spent no where near our job getting the materials and then returning with the wrong knob to do the job then leaving to go to luch was incomvenietn for us. 3.) He was very pushy about setting a date to do the additional work. 4.) When I explained that the under sink venting had not resolved the venting problem, I was given a song and dance but nothing addtional was done to remedy the situation. He also failed to smooth the putty placed around the sink drain - fortunately I noticed that before it set up and was able to handle it myself. 5.) Once I informed him I would talk over consideration of the additional work with my husband and would not commit to the work at that time, he wrote up a bill for an additional $87.50 for having to return a second day to finsih the job he wasn't prepared to complete the day before because HE BOUGHT THE WRONG SIZE KNOB AFTER TAKING ALMOST TWO HOURS TO GET IT AND OTHER MATERIALS. The biggest concern he was contacted for was not even looked at - checking the venting pipe to see if that was the problem. Upon having another service man to our home for a different problem, we talked about the need to change out the water line we had considered changing. This was a serrvice man with an understanding of waterlines. He felt there was NO need to change these lines -- at least not for functional reasons. I felt strongly Peters hit us with the second day service charge as punishment for not agreeing to have him to do additional work. Especially, as he did not mention his service fees to begin with AND it was his fault the knob was not replaced during the first day of work. Again, why announce you are a Christian attending church every Sunday if you are going to treat customers like this? If you want to get hosed by a plumber, he is the man to call.
Description of Work: Attached the drain to the pipe below in kitchen sink. Inserted a vent off trap below kitchen sink, replaced a knob on laundry sink and small section of pipe to allow better on/off access to the knobs.
