martin started off o.k but it quickly turned into a very bad experience .since he was a recommendation from a friend we felt comfortable with him and completely trusted him . we received three other estimates and martins price was not the cheapest nor the most expensive . he began the roof job and everything seemed to go ok. there were a few unfinished items but we were not concerned since he was also doing interior work and promised to complete all unfinished items . he left sections of drip off and flashed around my chimney in a manor that was very sloppy and unconventional. i have had leaks in two sections of the roof that have yet to be fixed .he also did not install the ice shield in the way that i requested and i'm just waiting for the cold weather to see if i have ice damning get in .he also failed to prep the attic where we had so many boxes in storage before cutting the ridge vents and everything was covered in sawdust and roof granules . he began the interior work by removing the kitchen wall but did install any permanent support bracing above in the attic and the ceiling has been cracking ever since . he removed the existing ceramic tile floor with a grinder and failed to install any protective coverings over and around the work area and we were overcome with a fine white powder in all our cabinets ,closets and drawers . it took months to clean everything . he never finished patching the sheetrock holes and seams. the counter that he installed was so loose and wobbly that the granite installer refused to install the counter until it was corrected. we never complained about additional money that he asked for to cover extra material or labor . every day for three weeks martin and his crew were treated to breakfast and lunch by us . after he left he began the roof next door at my dads house and that job also has had problems . he did not install the ice shield in the correct manor and also did not prep the interior attic below the ridge line before cutting for the ridge vents .everything in dads attic was also covered by sawdust and shingle granules. regretfully because he was a friend of a friend we payed in full and he has never returned to finish or repair anything ., we tried for months by telephone and email to get him back here and he never showed up when scheduled and to this day has not finished anything
