Description of Work: Went in for state inspection, and i had a pretty good idea of what my car needed before i went to see Frank. Was very pleased with the service and price . In fact, i brought the car in a second time for some major work required on the suspension system and got a very fair price for the amount of parts n labor performed.

Description of Work: I have a 2000 Volvo S70 and have found the costs for service at local Volvo dealers to be exorbitant. So, I've stopped using the dealers for services/repais. The check engine light on my S70, which has 83,700 original miles, was staying on. I needed a reputable mechanic to fix it. I recalled that my former neighbor always gave high marks for car care to a local company called Venturi's. He generally spoke of "Frank ." So, after checking to see what was on Angie's List about this company, I gave them a call and spoke with Frank. He listened, asked me a few questions and then suggested that - if I'd like - I could bring the car by so that he could take a look at it. He indicated that, before he'd ever do any work, he'd call to share his findings and would allow me to make a decision about whether I wished to have him proceed. A very short time after I had dropped the car off, a diagnosis of the problem was made, a cost estimate was projected and I was told approximately when the car might be ready for pick up. The shop seemed very busy, but it seemed to be very efficiently run. There were several vehicles there being serviced. Based upon his diagnosis of the problem, Frank replaced the Camshaft Solenoid and connector in my car @ $384.00 for parts and labor. He told me that my wipers were bad.....and they were. So, we agreed upon replacement wipers @ $22.88 each. Generally, I would comparatively shop the costs for goods or - as in this case - for services. I did not do in this case. Rather, I went with my gut instinct....remembering my neighbor's complete satisfaction with Venturi's. I found that I liked Frank's business manner. He seemed very professional and was straightforward in his discussion of my car and of the service it needed. His shop was very clean and orderly, which makes a statement to me. Finally, Venturi's is a local business that has been in Baldwin for a very long time. So, I trusted that Frank would do right by me and I believe that he did. I certainly will use his services again. Without having researched to find the price range for the services my car required, I do not think I should rate Venturi's in the category for " cost." I am very pleased with the work!!!
