Description of Work: I called Service 1st to obtain a quote for attic insulation. Upon answering with the usual I expressed my need for a quote to insulate the attic of my house. The person (I have a name) who answered completely ignored my request by responding with "we prefer to do an energy audit." Since this was not why I called I politely said "never mind I'll go elsewhere." To which she/he said "OK" And to think, additional to the insulation job I was seriously considering a solar energy project. Not now with Service 1st.

Description of Work: I purchased an energy audit and two gentlemen arrived and performed the audit professionally and thoroughly. The salespeople then took the information and made an appointment to discuss their findings and make their recommendations. I determined that much of what they were proposing would take way too many years to recoup my investment and selected two items -duct sealing and solar attic fans - that had a chance to recoup the investment quickly. When we couldn't come to terms on the price of the fans I decided to get the ducts sealed for $750. Apparently that wasen't enough work for them to bother with as I have not heard from them since. If I was going to keep the house for 20+ years perhaps some of their recommendations would have been logical. So, if you want a report on your home's energy efficiency they were very good. Just be prepaired to see the total bill up into the five figure range.
