I read through Angies list and talked to the top 3 listed firms. From the verbal quotes they were all in the same ballpark after applying discounts. They were all responsive to phone calls for estimates. One was very busy with business and needed to be booked 2 weeks in advance. In general wasn't a problem for me but he just did not come across as well as Bob with ES Design or the other one. I had two written estimates and Bob's was the most accurate. I also felt more comfortable with dealing with Bob, straight and to the point and felt he would be on time which was an important parameter for me as I was out of state. When I looked at the estimates, the other guy padded in ways you would not get over the phone call. In this case, he mentioned my baseboards could not be reused because they were too thin. Common sense told me otherwise and plus I had already done laminate in another house with identical baseboards with no problems. Bob's estimate had nothing unusual I could detect. Besides the reviews here, I wanted to see if the actual crew was experienced or just hired hands . Per the company description they were long time crew members. After accepting the job, and meeting the crew , I was convinced they were indeed experienced and long time crew members. I selected my own materials as I already had flooring in mind and Bob suggested a carpet place for the stairs. It was a place I already knew about for value so another sign he was on the honest side. The job itself went flawless. The outcome was perfect. The timeliness was exactly as we had discussed, pickup on Wed. Install on Thur, Friday. They cleaned up and were responsible. He had different crew for laminate than stairs. I will use them again.

Bob was great to work with and provided us with ideas that really made the final floors look outstanding, especially the entryway. His workers did an excellent and professional job, leaving no details undone. Bob and his staff provided the highest quality across the board. I would use Bob again for any additional work and highly recommend him to anyone who wants a great experience replacing their flooring.

I did not want to spend much time researching for a qualified tile installer, so I have contacted Angie's List. After reading all the reviews, I have decided to hire ES Design. I wanted installation to be started ASAP and completed within in a week due to my schedule. Bob came out to the house on Tuesday; an estimate was presented on Thursday. He was able to order the materials on Friday and they began installation on following Monday. Earny and his team were on time, professional. They made sure that I was satisfied as installation was progressing. I had a specific request on materials they use and how the tiles to be laid in my office. They followed exact instruction despite of more labor and time was required. Bob stopped by to check on the status daily. After installation has completed ON TIME, Earny's wife even came over to help me clean the house. I am planning to re-hire them to finish upstairs soon.

WOW! what a classy group of workmanship. First our contractor Bob W. Ahrens was wonderful He told us what would be done and when it would be completed. His quote was accurate and he delivered as he said. Everyone of his crew were the best. Gil and Oliver did such a great job on our tile work. Looks like a custom home. Gilbert the plumber was awesome. The best workmanship we have ever seen. Way to go guys, would highly recommend them to all.

They did an excellent job and it looks like I have a designer home. The contractor's name was Bob W Ahrens and I have never been so pleased with work done as I have on this job. They were very professional and respectful. They cleaned up after themselves and left the house immaculate. They were very trustworthy and went the extra mile without charging more. I can't say enough about them and I would highly recommend them.

Bob provided an accurate estimate per sq ft over the phone. Based on the reviews and the price quoted we had him out to give us an actual estimate both for price and schedule, as we were on a very tight timeline. Both estimates were right on, as the price was as quoted, and the amount of time to complete the work was also spot on. Bob's crew is very good at their job, and you can see the pride in workmanship. They were on time and worked full days each day. If there were ever any imperfections they would fix it without us even saying anything. They even include clean-up of the dust which invariably accumulates with a job like this. I also want to specify that they are extremely efficient with the materials and have very little if any waste. We trusted the crew with access to the house, and would do so again. Fantastic job overall, we highly recommend!!

The job went perfectly. Even though we were not there to supervise, ES got it right. We left with old floors and when we came back,we had beautiful new floors.

His name is Bob Ahrens. He worked in the house from October to November. It went great. One of the guys that he had doing some of the smaller stuff had to come back a couple of times because he didn't do it right. The flooring guys did an amazing job. He is going to be coming back to do the master bathroom.

ES Design Flooring did a "perfect" , excellent job. The three man crew was superb, always on time and did a precession 'piece of work' The owner of ES Design and manager, Bob Ahrens was always stopping by with help, expertise and a kind word for his crew. This is the best contracted job I have ever, ever had. Next up is the painting contractor.

Bob came out and gave us an estimate for three areas. We had picked out tile on our own that would be installed in these areas. Bob, was able to provide the tile at a slightly lower price. He was able to match the tile that was installed previously. He took great care in making sure that the new tile matched the old tile. The gentlemen that installed the tile did a beautiful job. They cleaned up completely and made sure that our wood floors that were previously installed were kept safe during the tile installation. The baseboard installer was also very professional and did a wonderful job. I can't say how pleased we were with the whole experience. If you need any work done, this is the company to choose. They are reasonable and do a wonderful job.
