They came out and took care of the problem. There was a salt bridge and loosened up the salt. It was a reasonable price and gave great advice to why there was a salt bridge.

We recently moved into a new house with existing water softener (Fleck mechanical controller). It unit seems very old and not functioning. Contacted American Water 7am today after reading good review here. Someone answered the phone within couple of rings and a tech was scheduled to come out around noon. Sean showed up on time and tested the water to verify soft water, checked the system and answered my queries. He didn't charge me anything and didn't try and sell a new system. I did inquire about a new install and he provided a quote. Fast, efficient and to the point. Thank you.

Teresa contacted me promptly, after leaving a request on the website. We discussed options for solving our hard water issues here in LAS. She recommended a salt based system, with a reverse osmosis system for the drinking water. Whilst the price was slightly higher than others. The good reviews told me I was making the right decision with American Water Treatment , Appointment scheduled for 8am on Saturday AM. Installer was RIGHT ON TIME. After the install the technician took some time to explain how the system worked, and how (and what) was required for maintenance. Laundry seems to be much cleaner and no water stains in my stainless dish washer and shower (in my BRAND NEW HOME).

I used the on-line form for American Water Treatment to request a quote late in the day. Theresa called the next morning and gave me a quote that I thought was reasonable. They were able to schedule the installation for that same day! Sean, one of the members of this family owned business, came out to do the install. He was personable and knowledgeable. The entire install took only about two hours since the plumbing was already in place from the previous water conditioning unit. He installed a Fleck 5600SXT, waranteed for 5 years. Since this is a family business, since 1983, I don't have any concerns about getting service down the road. I would definitely recommend them.

I was very happy with the service overall. I received a next day appointment for the salesman (Michael) to come to the home and talk through the different system & pricing options. After deciding on the system they were able to schedule the installation for the next day and all went very well. I'm very happy with the product & services I received from American Water Treatment.

We have had a couple of bad (and expensive!) experiences with having things around the house repaired and/or replaced. So when a hose broke on our 15 year old water softener we dreaded the thought of having to figure out who to call. This is one of those situations that less than honest contractors love; we expected to hear that the softener was so old that parts weren't available or it could be repaired however, the softener would need to be replaced anyway..etc. Turns out all the worry was for nothing. Like I said, our water softener is 15 years old and when the hose broke, we thought for sure that we would be told that we needed a new softener. My husband called American Water Treatment and explained to them that we would like to fix the old one, however, if that was not possible due to how old the softener is, we would consider getting a new one. They said no problem, they carry new softeners on their trucks and if our old one could not be repaired, they could install a new one right then and there. My husband called on Tuesday, August 13 and made an appointment for between 9 and 11 am on Friday August 16. Sean from American Water Treatment arrived shortly after 9 am, took a look at the softener and said it was an easy fix. It took him just a minute or two to fix the problem and then he stayed to make sure it was working properly. Here is what I think is the most impressive part of our experience: Sean knew how old the softner was and he didn't try to sell us a new one even after I asked him how long water softeners last and he said 5 years for our model. Sean then gave us the option of buying one online and having him install it or I could even install it myself! And he was very patient in explaining what I would need to do to install one myself. Sometimes what you dread the most turns out that it isn't so bad after all and this was one of those times. Thank you Sean from American Water Treatment!

The "plumber/company rep" was Sean. He arrived early and was waiting outside for me. In spite of having to wait for me -even though I was on time for our scheduled time, he was kind and courteous. I explained the problem and the "fix" my husband tried. He knew exactly what I was talking about and proceeded to fix it. It took him about 15 minutes to install a new bypass and it is working with no leaks! The "n/a" I marked above is regarding to the quality since it was just installed today I have yet to see about the quality of the part, but I don't anticipate any issues.

I called to ask a couple of questions before they came to check out the water softener - they took their time and answered the questions I had. I appreciate that!

I hired American Water Treatment to fix a leaking water softner on my rental property. I found them on Angie's List. Their Technician came out and fixed it by putting on an inexpensive part. I was very impressed that he didn't try to upsell me, or tell me that I needed a major overhaul on the machine, which most repair companies would do! I would hire them again in a New York Minute! Their Tech showed up on time. He was pleasant and competent and finished the work quickly and neatly. Because I am one part busy and one part lazy, it has taken me a long time to get around to writing this review. If I weren't so lazy I'd dig up the receipt they gave me for the work they did so I could tell you the exact date and cost of the repair, but........ I would definitely give American Water an Angie's List "A" Rating!

The technician arrived within the allotted service window and efficiently and effectively diagnosed and repaired the problem. In addition, he was also attentive to my questions and patiently described what had happened and what he was doing to correct it.

Arrived on time and was gone in 15 minutes. Did a good job of changing filters, no mess.

Sean was professional and explained reasoning behind each item and the system was installed to my satisfaction. I did research on the system before hand and American Water Treatment supplied exactly what I wanted and at a fair price for equipment and installation. Plus they warranty the system themselves for one year.

My husband and I were impressed with the high ratings of American Water Treatment (AWT) so we contacted the company. Since we live out of state it was easier to fax a message explaining what was needed. The following day AWT representative contacted us via telephone to discuss types of water systems. We explained that our tenent would not be able to lift blocks or bags of salt. Two days later the water conditioner was installed within two days (January 28, 2013). Our tenent was very impressed with their prompt and professional manner. AWT agreed to replenish salt as needed. We would highly recommend AWT to others.

I am entirely satisfied with their work.

Called that he was available to arrive a little early if that was okay which it was. He worked flat out until the job was completed and cleaned up after himself. Explained how the system worked and how to maintain it using laymans language, nothing technical. Was polite and professional the entire time. I was very happy with the product and installation as well as the service. I would not hesitate to use American Water Treatment again and I highly recommend them.

I called a week ahead of time and got an appointment for a service tech to come out. The courtesy and efficiency of the phone rep was fine. We agreed to between 8 and 10AM on 1/23/13 and by 9:45 I was getting a bit anxious and grumbly because I had turned down an overtime shift to be here and the tech wasn't. He showed up at 10:03 and the only thing I can say to anyone is that if you think you might be late, give them a call. However, 3 minutes isn't a big deal in the overall scheme of things. The tech, Sean, went right to troubleshooting the problem, but we talked and during that conversation agreed that I most likely had a hole in the bottom of the unit. That being the case he told me that he could install a Fleck unit for $1300. Knowing I could buy a unit for about $500, I asked what he would charge to install a unit that I bought and brought to the house. He quickly responded and indicated the $500 units would have about half the life of the unit he was installing and he said that his company would service the unit anytime I called. I tend to choose quality over price because it usually costs less over time and certainly gives me less stress, so I chose to go with the unit he recommended. He installed it in about 70 minutes with a minimum of muss and fuss. The price still seems a little high, but this is something that I will find out for sure with time and, of course, the quality of the product will be in question for at least 5 years and then after that if it is still performing well and I haven't had to get the company out to service it often then I'll have a better idea about the quality of the product. The installation of it was an A. One of the features of the unit is that the salt containment is separate from the reaction unit. Presumably then, if a hole developes in the salt containment, I can replace it without having to buy a whole new unit. Finally, Sean went over the operation of the product briefly and told me the owners manual was a very good resource. That's good to know. He gave me the bill and it was exactly the amount that he had quoted. Except for the few details noted above, I was very happy with the service from American Water Treatment.

Fleck water softener had stopped functioning after approximately 7 years in service. Unit was not measuring water flow. Located American Water Treatment on Angie's List and phoned for a service appointment. Call was handled professionally and courteously, with a service appt scheduled for 9 the next morning. Sean showed up promptly at 9 and introduced himself. I explained the symptoms, and he immediately and correctly diagnosed the problem as a malfunctioning flow sensor. In less than 5 minutes, Sean disassembled the flow sensor, checked it, cleaned it, lubricated it, tested it, and reassembled the unit. While doing so, he explained in detail what he was doing and why, and how I could fix the problem myself if it recurred. He also listed other symptoms to watch for, considering the make and age of my unit. He presented his bill, deducting the $20 value of the Angie's List coupon. All-in-all, the best service call I have experienced in more than 40 years of home ownership.

American Water Treatment was excellent. Clinton was the technician and was very knowledgeable and professional. He quickly and efficiently diagnosed the problem and resolved the issues with our water softener. I highly recommend this company. Thanks again Clinton.

We called because the water level in our softener was rising and about to overflow. They came out that day and did troubleshooting. There were numerous problems due to poor installation by another company. He took time to explain everything as he did it and was very kind. As more and more things wrong with it popped up, I started to worry that it would be expensive, but it turned out to be the base price for him coming out. A couple days later, I wasn't sure if the water level had dropped enough and called to ask his opinion. He reassured me that it was probably fine, but since I had even a little bit of doubt, he would be right over. He was very adamant that if I had any uneasy feelings, it was no problem to make sure. He was there within an hour- no charge. I am not used to that kind of service these days. Everything about the experience was pleasant. I would definitely use them again.

We called and were promptly given a time for a service call. The technician arrived on time and gave the unit a complete check up, discovered the leak was due to dried out seals. Needed another part that he didn't have so made arrangements to return the next day to complete the service. Called the next morning to see if he could come earlier than planned, which was great with us. He installed the seals, checked out the unit and finished promptly. Great job!

Serviceman was actually an hour earlier than estimated. He assessed the problem and had it completely repaired in 20 minutes. I was very impressed.

It went great from start to finish and I appreciated the quick appointment (called friday, scheduled on monday).

I had been meaning to call a company to come check out my water softener unit since I purchased my house in 2011... Needless to say, I was late getting around to this. My tank had 2 different water company stickers on it, and I tried a call to both companies... and they both wanted $89.00 just to come out and take a look. If they were to do any "service" on it, they would charge me additional at that time. Instead I came to Angie's List, saw the good reviews for American Water Treatment and gave them a call. They were able to schedule an appointment for Sean to come out the next day. He showed up promptly on time, looked over my existing system, told me what I had, how it worked, and what I could/should expect it to do. (which is really what I was looking for) He advised me to keep using the system I had, because it IS working, and eventually when it goes out, replace the system. But that I wouldn't need to do that now. He adjusted the time of day the tank would run, and how often it would run. He also replaced the salt in the tank for me with 3 blocks from the truck. In the end, he just charged me for a salt delivery, which turned out to be $45.00 including the salt. GREAT VALUE considering what the others wanted to charge!! Friendly, knowledgable, timely and professional. Definitely recommend!

I got them on the Angie’s list. They responded the next day to my phone call. They are very prompt and responsive. They were very timely and very good in answering to all my questions that I had. I got a good quote and I haven’t used them because the quote on other brands weren’t Angie’s list and were a little high for what I thought was being requested. Price wise it was a quote for $1200 for the water conditioning system and probably it was for the low side of the middle range product but I have seen other systems for much less. Whether I plan on using them in the future depends on what happens with their price for fixing the system and I’m working on it. If I buy the system then I got to figure out for a plumber to put it in and put the total price together which would be better going back to American Water Treatment.
