It happened that we were gone for some weeks during the time of the warranty but returned at the end of February. We realized that the dryer was malfunctioning in exactly the same way as it had in October. My husband has repaired many dryers over the years and certainly knows what the problem was (and is!) Most unfortunately he is no longer able to do the labor but he is very knowledgeable. When we called the company back and reported that we had the same problem with the dryer we were told that the time of the warranty was up and that basically we were out of luck. The woman who answers the phone offered to send the same repair person out for which we would have to pay a service fee over again but we declined since we did not want to pay twice for the same repair. Our complaint is not only that the repair service or part was shoddy; we are equallyy distressed at the rude, condensending, "tough luck" and sarcastic attitude of the person who answers the phone and who identified herself as the owner of the company. She kept asking why it took us four months to report that we were unhappy. We tried to tell her that the reason we did not call back right away was that the dryer did not begin to malfunction immediately. She preferred to believe that we were trying to get a free repair of a different problem. We repeatedly asked if there was someone else we could talk to and she repeatedly said no. When I told her that I was planning on reporting the company to the Better Business Bureau and Angie's List she said I was "threatening" her and hung up. I would never, ever, use this company or recommend it to anyone. We are out $168 for zero repair and had a nasty encounter along with it.
Description of Work: In October, 2011 we called this company to have our Maytag dryer repaired. It needed a new blower cage and an on/off switch replaced. When the repair person came he didn't have the blower cage part. He was very quiet and rather disinterested but he did return the next day and reported that he replaced the blower cage.He said that the switch was unavailable but since it could be operated without it we decided reluctantly to let it go. At that time of the repair the "clunking" sound that the dryer had been making was gone...but, as it turned out, only temporarily.
