I had the floors refinished in an 800 square-foot fixer-upper house by Rebel a couple weeks ago. The results are spectacular! When I bought the house, I wasn't even sure the floors could be rescued they were in such poor condition. Now they are my favorite feature of the house. I'm constantly admiring how beautiful they look. Even more important than how great the floors look is that the owner, Chris St. John, was extremely supportive in response to my somewhat last minute request that they use an ultra-green alternative to standard polyurethane that I supplied. Despite the fact that it required an additional coat and considerably longer drying times between coats, Chris never asked me to pay more than the original estimate he provided, which assumed standard procedures. I was so pleased that I chose to pay more on my own. Moreover, Chris contacted technical folks at the manufacturer of the coating I supplied to ensure that he was applying it properly! I also contacted the manufacturer and was extremely gratified to learn that Chris had made such an effort to find out the proper procedures (the technical person was very impressed with Chris) and that he in fact followed them precisely despite the fact it required additional procedures and time. On top of everything, Chris was extremely communicative and a pleasure in all interactions. This was hands-down the best experience I've ever had with a contractor in any capacity! One thing to be aware of is that afterwords there was fine sanding dust on the walls and ceilings that was not noticeable unless you rubbed up against them. (I'm sure they took efforts to control dust, as sanding the floors must produce a storm in the house, this was probably just the little bit that got through.) For some reason our vacuum cleaner couldn't remove it (probably using the wrong attachment), but we were able to remove it effectively just by Swiffering the ceilings and walls. Despite this small glitch (note that I am ultra sensitive to air quality), we would do it over again in a heartbeat and are extremely satisfied. I recommend Rebel (and Chris) without reservation. I plan to have them back out after we upgrade the HVAC so we can remove the floor heater and fill in the hole. I wouldn't consider using anyone else.

I highly recommend Rebel Wood Floors. Chris is very personable, responsive, and professional. He explained the refinishing process to me, and on the morning of the second (final) day of work, I met him at my house for a walk-through to make sure I was happy before they finished up the job. He texted me when he left so that I could go fetch the house key from our agreed-on hiding place. When I texted him afterwards about the name of the finish he used and when it would be safe for my two birds to be allowed back into the house, he responded quickly and also contacted the product rep in Colorado about the safety issue. I really appreciated that. The different in my floors is amazing. It looks like I have a new house! It was an expensive project for me (although I thought his pricing was fair), and I was reluctant to go through with it, but it was completely worth it. My house is so much more attractive now. Chris was extremely prompt and professional each and every day he and his crew worked. He met me and my realtor at the property on a Saturday morning along with other providers in order to review the property and give bids prior to our purchase of the property. He took the time to explain what the wood in our parquet was (red oak) as well as the treads of our stairs (white oak). He further enlightened us with the knowledge that our floors were actually special in that they were not the normal parquet crisscross pattern seen in the 60's-80's but a pinwheel pattern that would have been a far more expensive upgrade when the original homeowners commissioned the home to be designed and built. It was this attention that distinguished him. He was flexible and worked with us as our closing date changed. We wanted the floors to be refinished prior to moving any furniture into the home. He and his crew completed the work when they said they would and even came back to touch up scuffs left by the movers. We highly recommend Rebel Floors and Chris St. John.

I needed a section of my kitchen floor near the sink repaired. Some time ago I had a plumbing company repair a leak and they had to cut into my wood floor in order to stop the leak. Rebel Wood Floors said it would be no problem to repair it and patch the floor. They did an excellent job and matched the original wood very well. I didn't have them refinish the whole kitchen floor since I was only interested in the repair. However I may have them refinish the floor eventually since they did such a good job with the patch. The price was very reasonable too for the repair at $227 for the job The repair job took them about 2 hours to do. Very good work as I previously said. I highly recommend them.

Chris the owner was onsite every day. Easy to contact, I was able to text last minute questions that were promptly answered. Crew was clean, professional and efficient. We went with custom red oak floors, 3 and 1/4 thickness, sealed not stained and replaced moulding. Highly recommend Rebel. Work done was less then quoted as we needed less preparation then anticipated.

Not once did they come out to measure or see the job. It was all guesswork on their part. First they assumed and "guesstimated" only the LR floor when it was much more than that, so the verbal (by phone) estimate was totally wrong...then after my husband went to the trouble of measuring out the entire job for them, they again gave a verbal estimate. If someone is not interested enough in my job to even come out and see it to estimate what kind of work are they going to do? I might have understood if this had been a small task but it was a large LR a large DR halls and stairway.

It went very well. The team was on time and they did a great job on my floors. They look brand new!

The wood floors look beautiful and are very professionally done. They missed a spot when they applied the protective coating, but they came back and fixed it as soon as we called them.

Everything went like Chris promised. I left the door open, he came in, did the work and locked the door behind himself. He really wants to make sure the customer is satisfied and that is reflected in the quality of the work and the explanation of the options leading up to the job. Thank you.

Chris was very prompt in returning my phone call and coming to do the estimate. On the scheduled day of installation he and his crew showed up promptly. The work was scheduled very efficiently and was done quickly. Everyone was polite and courteous. We are very pleased with the quality of work and plan to have Rebel Flooring back to install more flooring in a few months.

The floor looks fantastic! We could not be more pleased with how this project went. Chris and his crew were professional, efficient, and courteous. The scribing job they did around our stone fireplace was done to perfection.

We picked a natural hickory hardwood that came out so beautiful! They were fast and efficient and cleaned up each day. The bulk of our cost was the wood itself and I feel their labor costs were very reasonable (about 1500). They had 4-5 guys working and were done in two days time. They installed a nice trim around the granite in front of my fireplace for no extra cost. All the transitions in doorways and halls were flawless. Great quality work. I'm very glad we went with them and did not try to go it ourselves.

Our experience with Chris and his experienced crew was excellent. He provided a prompt estimate and explained the basic steps to install hardwood floors on a concrete slab. We scheduled a full week because of the amount of flooring installed (1700 square feet). Chris met the schedule as expected with his 5 man crew. In the days leading up to the installation we had many questions about preparation, adhesives, wood grade, stain selection and finishing, and we changed our minds a few times about exactly what we wanted. Chris responded quickly and patiently to all of our questions as we worked through our final selections of wood grade and stain. We finally selected red oak select grade with a medium stain. He went out of his way to make sure we understood how our choices would look in our house and he worked out several custom transitions between tile and wood. He also answered all of our questions about how to care for the floors after installation.The finished floors exceeded our expectations and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Chris and his company for any hardwood floor installation or refinishing job. We are extremely happy with the results

I called Rebel Wood after I was left in a bind by Lumber Liquidators with 1800 square feet of solid wood floors sitting in my house. The owner Chris came out the same day and gave me a quote that was much less than the competition. He started on time and finished my entire house, baseboards and cleanup included, in three days. Absolutely beautiful work. Worth every penny

They did a very good job. They did exactly what they said they would do. They were prompt and punctual. I felt really good because I live alone and I needed help moving furniture and they were not only one of the best price but they were very willing to help me move my big furniture out and move it back in and the other companies were very reluctant to help me with that. So that was a big consideration for me is that I felt that the owner was really willing to work with me and he was very helpful. He gave me a written estimate the same day they came to look at the floors. He was just really professional and helpful.

Professional, punctual friendly and helpful service for 6 days of hard work. Each installer worked hard, worked as a team and was very friendly. I felt I could trust each of them and their boss was helpful in solving problems as they came up and he also was responsive to my wishes to change a few things. Chris helped with other problems at the house to fix a few minor issues that were not about the floors. I would trust his recommendations for other service providers for home repairs or construction. I highly recommend his company!

They completely sanded and refinished the hardwood floors throughout the entire house. They also did floor repairs wherever needed, and did a beautiful job of that as well! I was very pleased with the work they did, as well as little extras they did at no additional cost. They were also willing to come back and repair some scratches in the floor that were caused by another contractor, and do the repair work for free!! I will use them every time I need floor work done in the future!!

Everything turned out beautifully. The contractor scheduled everything and told me when they would be at home. He was at my home promptly. He called after the job to make sure I was satisfied with the work.

We tried to schedule this work November of last year, but had trouble securing a date of service. He said he would call me after the start of this year, but he never got back to me. No work was done by this service provider, and he failed to follow up.

Outstanding work! We called for a quote and the first visit was scheduled within a day. Owner Chris showed up and made some very good suggestions on how to patch in floors where old floor furnaces used to be and to refinish existing floors. Made good suggestions regarding new floors in dining room; all red oak so every room matched. Rec'd a fair quote and scheduled the work to start in two weeks. Work started when expected and crew was very nice, professional, and punctual. Work was completed in time quoted and the Chris and his crew were able to accomodate some last minute requests (we asked them to replace quarter-round baseboard and to add some wood boards to tie floors into the kitchen area) with no trouble and at a reasonable price. These guys were great and the floors look AMAZING! 75+ year old floors look like new! We are getting our house ready to sell and this is by far the best money spent!!

Chris was an excellent point of contact for us. He came out immediately to give us an estimate, and that was exactly what we paid for the job. The guys came back after the floors were dry and helped move the heavier furniture back into place, and put in a piece of wood in a pre-existing hole. The day the job began, one of our smaller cats panicked and squeezed down a vent that went under the house, and one of the workers took the time to go under the house and use a pry bar to pull off the pipe she was in. We were so relieved! All in all, we had a fantastic experience with the company.

The estimate process went smoothly. I had to cancel our first appointment at the last minute because I got called in to work and Chris, the owner, had no problems rescheduling. When he did come out, he was professional and courteous. He asked what we wanted done and explained the pros and cons of our plans, and also told us about less expensive alternatives that would actually last a whole lot longer than what we had in mind. We also wanted to be as environmentally friendly as possible, and he was able to recommend some good options for that, as well. We ended up ordering hardwood floors through him after looking at several installations he'd done at a local tile shop. It really helped being able to see the floors in a large installation vs. a small sample. We were originally quoted a price for the wood that was less than it should have been, but they honored the quoted price anyway without any haggling. The main reason we went with Rebel was the knowledge level and professionalism. After we agreed to have the work done, we were able to schedule the 5-6 day project around our schedule and within a reasonable time frame. We put half of the quoted amount down at the beginning of the project and the other half was paid at the end, only after we were satisfied with the work. Some of the other contractors couldn't begin work until September and wanted a 50% deposit before work even began -- not about that! Rebel's pricing wasn't the cheapest, but definitely not the highest, either. When the day finally came, Chris and his team showed up promptly at the agreed upon time and got right to work. We only had them move one dresser, but they moved it where we wanted it and they were gentle with it. His crew members were very friendly and professional and I had no qualms leaving my house a couple of times to run errands. They were also great with my little dog. I think he was actually sad when the job was complete! The actual flooring itself came out beautiful. They did a glue-on-concrete installation and the process went as smoothly as I could have hoped for. We have a step between our dining room and sunken living room that was a bit of an issue appearance-wise, but they got it done and it looks like it was planned that way :) They cleaned up the mess each day and when it came time to sand it all down they put plastic sheeting up to ensure the dust didn't end up all over our stuff and our home. All in all, we LOVE our floors and would hire Rebel Flooring again in a heartbeat.

Chris was EXTREMELY punctual and professional in all aspects. When he says he will be there at a certain time, he will be there! Crew came in and removed all carpet, then returned the following week to work on the floors. Used a "dustless" sanding process, and restained/finished the wood floors. They look great! We first found them when they offered an Angie's List "Big Deal", but it wasn't quite what we needed. We explained to Chris what it was we were after and that we weren't quite ready to begin the wood floor project, and he said whenever we were ready, to call him back and he would give us a discount - because we were Angie's List members!
