"We responded to the no heat call and our service manager was sent. The customer was also quoted for a new flame sensor as well, far lower that PSE&G and also gave the option for a new unit. both options were clearly written on the service invoice and that in the recommendations area of the service invoice it clearly states that the customer will get back to us. We are sorry for the inconvenience that this caused our client."
Overall, I am happy with the work done except that there are two minor issues.
-- About 3 inches of the refrigerant lines was not properly insulated, Since it is a minor thing, I just take care myself.
- The technician forgot to check whether the new condenser unit matches with the my existing circuit breaker. It turned out during the town inspection that the new condenser only needs 15 AMPS max but my old condenser was using 20 AMP circuit breaker. When I call the company to explain this issue , I got pretty quick response. Finally, the issue was fixed. So, overall, my experience with this company is very positive.
I never write reviews on forums like this but felt the need to based on a recent experience with this company. I hired them for $125 to come out and diagnose a heating flow issue that I was having in our laundry room. They told me over the phone when I hired them that they would do a full test and give me an answer as to the cause of the problem. The guy who came was very nice, but seemed rushed and after a very short visit said it could be due to the size of my heating unit being too small to service my house. I explained that the BTUs for my unit should be enough to heat my entire house, not to mention that I have two zone heating and a separate unit in the attic that heats the 2nd floor and this one just needed to cover the first floor. He seemed to agree, but after the short 20 minute visit this was his only thought. He did offer to order 2 filters for me for my units (they needed to be replaced) for $45 each, which I agreed to purchase through them. He said they would be back within the next few days to install the filters and would also let me know about the heating issue.
2 weeks passed and I heard nothing. I finally followed up and they told me that the size of my unit was fine (I already knew this though). They basically told me that their job was finished. I told them they 1) didn?t diagnose anything and just threw out that lame possible explanation as a way to get out of my house and 2) still needed to come back to install the filters. Turned out they never ordered them. They did come back and the same guy spent a very long time in my house and seemed to do thorough research. He gave me a couple possible solutions for the problem that they could be hired to do (which included significant duct work). This is fine because I expected that. I told him to get me 2 quotes ? one for a full fix on the duct work, and one for an alternate and less expensive option he had come up with. I told him we would probably choose the option with less work but he could show me both quotes. He told me he had to have his office put the quotes for the various options together and they would get back to me shortly. He also replaced the filters, but then tried to charge me $75 each after the original quote was $45. But in fairness to them, they then did agree to the $45 after I complained.
As nice as the service tech was, as soon as he left I turned to my wife and said ?we?ll never hear from this company again.? She didn?t believe me and thought I was crazy. Well 6 weeks passed and I finally called them and they said they would get back to me with the quotes. A few days later they sent me the one quote for the full fix (more expensive) option. I told them there were supposed to be two quotes. They said they didn?t have any information on the ?other option? and that the owner wanted to schedule a time to come out and look at the issue himself. So basically it took 2 months and I was back to where I started. I told them no thanks because I couldn?t hire them to do the work based on how unresponsive they were.
I?m sure they?ll respond that this was somehow my fault, but this is exactly how it happened. Maybe I was an anomaly because it seems like they have good ratings. Just felt that the company should be aware of the service they provided so they can do a better job in the future.
"On 11/26/2015 we received a call stating the homeowner did not have enough heating is some areas of his home. We scheduled for a service tech to come out and take a look, a service call was explained to homeowner and they agreed. Upon arrival the service tech found the filters were completely clogged, we quoted a price for 45.00 each instead of the listed price of 75.00 per filter, they are a media and not a standard size and type. they were installed for them on 12/9 there was a delay due to the holiday weekend and measurements were taken however the homeowner wanted a temp fix to a bigger issue. Our company provided him with a solution to the problem or issue they were having and they still wanted a temp fix, this is not something our company standards allow us to do. We feel its better to give the homeowner the information they need in order to fix the issue rather that to put a "band aid" on the issue. Our office did reach out when they wanted only the temp fix and tried to schedule to have the owner come out and look at it for them but we were told not to bother. the homeowner was provided with a service call and filters and the proposal that they were in need of, they however did not want to schedule to have the owner come out and look at the system"
"Our company did install the Ac into the (member name removed) home, but never left any mess. the homeowner never called us to complain at that time that there was anything left behind. we would have sent someone out ASAP to correct the situation for them. Even during their maintenance in the month of May there was no leak or damage with ac unit everything was reported back as fine. Then in October we received a call and dispatched out right away for them. After an entire summer of using the AC with no issues. this is 5 months later, with no call from the customer to state there was anything wrong with anything. If there was any issue at time of maintenance we would have corrected right away, it is not our policy to let our customer stress or wait over anything to do with their system. the owner did try and return their call. Customer service is our top goal, we would have corrected any issue if we were made aware of it prior to the October call."
"We did in fact replace the [member name removed]'s ac on 7/15/2014 however when they called us in October 2014 with a leaking issue it was found to be from the heating and not the ac we installed. We tried to explain that to the customer and explain what was needed to be fixed. Sadly the homeowner is in the process of selling their home and wanted a quick fix to their issue. We were able to dispatch to their home when requested and fixed the issue. since the issue was fixed we have not heard from the customer that it has happened again. thank you"
"When Ms. [member name removed] called into our office she explained that her baseboard was making noise. Our office explained that we do in fact work with base board heating. She asked to book the service call which was also explain to her what the service call was and that if anything else was needed it would be explained to her before we go any further for her. We are sorry that when the tech did arrive, on or before the scheduled time., that the issue was greater than just have a noise in the pipes. it was explained to her by the service tech what has happened and what would need to be replaced. He did in fact drain the system and was there for longer than Ms. [member name removed] has stated making sure that the noise she had heard was gone and that heating was confirmed. it is not he policy of Air 1 to leave any of our clients without confirming they have heat and fully understand what the underlying issue is. And as of today there has been no complaint made to our office by Ms. [member name removed] and the noise issue she was having. thank you"
