Allen and his crew finished up the HVAC system for my house last night. Allen since day one has been available via text message day or night. If there was a problem encountered along the way Allen and his crew were able to fix them promptly and professionally.. My heat is on now and so far so good! I can't wait to try out the A/C next year! Hofmeister's price was a lot less than other companies that came out for estimates but even paying more I don't think i would receive the type of attention that Allen and Hofmeister provided. Thank you!

I called at 11:30. He showed up at 12:30. He used a snake to clean a shower drain in about 30 minutes. He explained the pipes were shrinking due to the rust buildup in the galvanized pipes. I will switch to PVC pipes which he gave me a quotes for.

Review based on estimate meeting. I have not yet had the work completed.

If you want someone to overcharge you for work that they need to come back and fix a number of times for a high fee then you should use this plumber. In addition they were paid to do a water test on our house and it is now a year later and they still haven't provided us with the results. We spent a lot of money with this company. Don't use them. In response to the company - we were not happy with the work for a year. We just recently joined Angie's list and wanted to add our review on this company. We tried contacting the group that did our work numerous times with no success.

Made the call at around 4 and got service at 8:30 pm from Allen. Can't comment on price as I'm not fully versed on the part he replaced, but all things considered the charge seems reasonable considering the speed and responsiveness of the service.

I will use this vendor for future work as the professionalism of Allen, the site manager, was above and beyond and very thorough.

Provider gave immediate and eminently reasonable quote for work required. Showed up following day and did the job in a professional manner, cleaned up after himself, and showed himself to be knowledgeable and efficient. Highly recommend.

Alan came and he started good, checking and troubleshooting/ process of elimination. Checked the condensation line to see if it's clogged, and the line was fine. So he ran the until and after like 10 minutes the water start to appear from around the draft inducer unit housing. He stopped, and immediately said the until is bad, needs a new one. My furnace is a Goodman that's only 2 & 1/2 years old, so I asked him why not check further, he said no, it's bad. He said it will cost me $1000 to install a new one, and once it's apart and he can confirm that is faulty, might be able to warranty it. I gave him a deposit and he left. I still didn't believe that the unit was bad so I got a socket and Ratchet and went over the inducer housing bolts and sure enough one was a little loose where the water was coming out of, after going over all the bolts, I ran the until for an hour and not a drop of water was leaking. I immediately called Alan and told him that itwas just a loose bolt and that I fixed it and his diagnosis was wrong, he said that he will return the deposit check I gave him but I owe him $200 for service fee. He was trying to replace a part that is working fine and charged me for a service that he misdiagnosed. He said the fee is a standard fee and they charge that for just showing up. I asked how come I was not told that when I requested his service, he didn't answer me, so I asked him does it state that on their website, and he said he is not sure. I feel like they robbed me and that he was just trying to charge me a lot of money for a perfectly good working draft inducer. I have been running the heat everyday since Alan came and still no water. Don't trust this company and if they do have a service fee, it should be listed here or on their website. Do not use them.

Alan and his team have been amazing over the 2 years we have known them. They have responded twice on holiday weekends and been able to fix and AC unit and a Heating Unit for us very quickly and at a very fair price. I recommend them with my highest accolades.

Great job !!! called Allen with my problems with my older boiler system.He came over right away to give me a estimate and explain what was needed thoroghly.The next morning Allen and his crew showed up first thing and got to work right away.The work was done as quoted and and in a timely fashion. Allen the field manager did a great job coordinating the whole job ....couldnt ask for anything better.Would definatly recommmend to friends !!!

Job was scheduled for 1:00 - 3:00 PM but got a call that he was behind schedule. Reset the time to 6:00 - 8:00 PM, no problem, Allen came before 8:00 PM. Checked out the boiler and found no problems.

Contacted Hofmeister through Angie's List and got a call back from Allen less than an hour later. As I work, I asked for a evening appointment for the estimate, and he was able to accommodate same day. As I have a friend that works at a HVAC supplier, I did not purchase the furnace through Hofmeister, however they were willing to work with the equipment I provided at no additional cost, which was nice as other providers refused or wanted to charge an extra fee. Allen was very responsive via both Phone & Text, and answered all my questions. I agreed with Allen on the price and timing, and his guys came on time the day of the job. A lot of ductwork was needed as the new unit was much smaller than the old one, and they did a great job putting it all together in a way that looked good and minimized the floorspace taken in my basement. Very happy with my experience. I plan to use them again in the spring to install central air, and would definitely recommend!

Contacted the plumber on 10/2 - got a quick response asking to call them on the phone. Called set up an appointment for 10/13. On 10/13 no one showed up.

I scheduled a service with Hofmeister Plumbing for Thursday October 9th between 6:00 and 8:00pm. On Thursday they called to see if the could come earlier, around 4:00pm, because they did not want to deal with some of the traffic in my area. I had told them no and that I would not be home until 6:00pm. I asked why they agreed to the 6:00-8:00pm call time to begin with. So we rescheduled for Sunday October 12th between 10:00am and 12:00pm. When Sunday morning came they never showed up and I never even received a courtesy call from them that would not be coming yet again. Completely unprofessional from the start. I would not use them again.

Allen came in gave us the best price no need to call a manager and do the gimmicks we saw from the rest of the companies. As promised the crew came in 8:30, cleaned up. John is super nice and accommodating. Would totally recommend them in a heart beat.

Called Hofmeister on a Saturday and I had Allen the field manager at my house on Sunday. His plan and price for my house was just right. I shook his hand and have him a $1500 deposit and his guys were at my house the next day removing the old cast iron radiators. Allen is always reachable by cell phone and on top of your project from day 1. They are about 50% done with my project and I couldn't be happier.

Firstly, Allen and Hofmeister are incredibly responsive. Of all of their traits, the responsiveness is second to none. Whenever there is an issue or if I want a quote on a plumbing or AC service, I would receive a response almost instantaneously. This was incredibly helpful as we are doing many projects on our house simultaneously, and being able to coordinate and get services punctually is very helpful. On thing on Alan's professionalism that comes to mind is when his guys accidentally caused some minor damage to a recent paint job we had done while installing one of the units and he quickly fixed the issue proactively. This is a great trait and something that I really personally appreciated. I am not sure on the price of things, I think we got good value but time will tell to see if the AC system works for a number of years as opposed to just this summer. Allen was open to negotiation and when a problem aroused, he worked with me to fix it. Again, very professional and responsive to criticism. One thing to note, Allen works with lots of other groups, not sure if they technically work for him or are subcontracted. As a result, you can have different teams tackling different issues if you have a complex project. This has positives in that you are guaranteed to have help as he has a large resource pool to pull from but no one person has a view of the entire picture. This feeds into my one minor feedback point and why I gave a "B" on quality as opposed to an "A". We did a lot of work with Alan and will continue to do so. The work was good as I noted above. The one thing that frustrated me is that each new problem was not identified by his guys. For example, the latest issue we have is that the vent ducts were not properly installed by the prior owner. I don't know why Alan's teams did not identify this issue to me after being in the attic for 3 full days installing the new units and performing their inspections. After all, I have paid a lot and want Alan and his guys to take a broader view of things when they help me with a problem, we paid him to do many things but hopefully by now they would havei inspected and seen it all. I would have hoped that when they inspected my unit from the beginning which I paid for, issues such as the duct work, # and location of return valves, overall throughput of air, leaks in units, etc. would all be found. Overall, I highly recommend them. Not sure on price as I am a new homeowner, but appears to be competitive.

Allen installed a new compressor outside of of our condo unit about 24 months ago. since then it has needed Freon put into it 3 times. Each time Allen came to do work he was on his cell phone the whole time and never checked to actually see where the leak is coming from. he is very unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone

Called the office and was told the technician would call me back! Within seconds I received a call back. Scheduled an appt in the late afternoon. James was able to come earlier, due to his changed schedule, so I my appt was made earlier. James was polite, honest and diagnosed the problem promptly. He worked with the mechanics of the rest of the piping in order to tie in the new piping, giving options and his opinion as he went along. He was methodical as he worked and cleaned up when he was done. I asked him to give me a quote on a new boiler before he left and he advised me to call PS&G, as he smelled gas. All in all, I was very pleased with the work done by James and I will be using him again as well as referring him to my friends.

They were FANTASTIC! They came out quickly, assessed the problem, offered options and were incredibly professional. Allen was great - offered to have the unit out the next day but I was traveling for business so they came on a Sunday. Kay installed and he was very professional and nice. I had others come out to give us estimates and they wanted to replace my entire system and charge 11k-14k. Allen reviewed my entire system, found the problem (leak) and gave options- which the most practical was to just replace the broken portion since that was the problem. Now it's been over a month and it's been working great. I would not hesitate to use them again.

These guys are fast, reliable and affordable. They showed up on time. Got straight to work and cleared out the clog in about a half hour. I would use these guys again.

Allen did the work quickly and efficiently, and followed up the next day with a call to check on everything. He was also very responsive to a couple of follow-up questions that I had for him over the course of the next two days. The AC is working fine, and I will be using Hofmeister/Allen again for my plumbing needs.

Overall, I had a positive experience. I actually had another company come out to fix the problem but after two attempts, the issue remain. On top of that, the charges were ridiculous. Allen had his tech, Kay, come out and perform diagnostic on the unit. I went over with him what was done previously by the other company and where exactly the leak was. Kay decided to blow nitrous to clean the drain line. Once that was done, he took it upon himself to check the freon/refrigerant as well. He discovered that the freon was low on the unit that was leaking and told me it is possibly the reason for the leak. Allen agreed with the diagnostic. We agreed on the price and Kay pumped in freon. I can't say for sure the issue is fixed but Allen guaranteed the work for 1 year. I guess time will tell.

AC was blowing air, but not cold air. I called yesterday around 3pm they said someone would be out between 4-6. Allen called around 5 and said he was running late but would be there before 8. He showed up around 730 and got right to work. Turned out our compressor had zero coolant in it. He added liquid coolant and we are monitoring over the next few days to see if it holds, if it fails to cool again he said he would come back with a crew and they will determine where the leak is and we'll go from there. Also our costs for the service call/coolant is applicable to any future repairs. Very professional and would highly recommend.
