I’ve used PFO services for about 25 years now. They installed and serviced my oil burner and central ac system. A few years ago I converted to gas heat, but I still have my ac unit that they service. It went out one and I called that morning to have it serviced. I was pleasantly surprised that the tech showed up a couple of hours later to quickly fix the problem. Since I had a yearly service contract it cost me nothing. PFO has always done a great job and they did it again.

They explained the technology and worked with me to locate the most efficient and unobtrusive places to install the units. When it came time for installation, the workmen were on time and very professional, cleaning up thoroughly at the end. Overall, I am pleased with the product and the service.

I worked with Casey Gainey, who's extremely knowledgable and trustworthy. PFO seems to be the best vendor of Carrier HVAC equipment in our area, based on Angie's List reviews and my experience interviewing several other vendors. I've used PFO for six years on service contracts, and they've responded very quickly to emergency calls. In one case, with water dripping from a ceiling due to a broken AC pump, they arrived within 45 minutes of my call. Highly recommended.

Salesman was very informative, answered all my questions, very careful.  Technicians arrive promptly and started working on the install. Electrician arrived about 2 hours later as expected . Installers discovered one indoor unit had a cracked casing so 1 installer continued working while second drove to Trenton warhouse to pick up replacement. Were done shortly after 3pm.  Meticulous and cleaned up afterwards.  Price was obviously not zeero but I am unwilling to share this info in a public forum.

If only all vendors were this prompt! Bill was the only one that responded to my call for estimates - I called two other Angie list vendors with no response.  He came out when arranged, gave and estimate and answered all questions. As the weather is heading to summer, we decided to take the estimate. Bill came out on a Monday for measurements, the crew came on that Friday and began at 8:30am and were completed and cleaned up by 5!  We are BEYOND pleased with the work - duct work, unit, removal of oil tank, installation of new AC and compressor, moved water heater - just wonderful!  Crew was polite and cleaned up after themselves - wonderful!

Summary:
Great experience all around, from pre-sales to closing to installation.  Quality install, respectful treatment and a fair price.
Can't say enough good things. All A+. Warm and cozy from the unit as I type this up.
Details:
Got their name from a friend in the energy business. Was a bit gun-shy after a really horrible encounter with a well advertising competitor. So, contacted them via their web site input form. They got back to me quickly and an email conversation ensued.
Since they were local, so the sales guy was familiar with my complex and before we even met he was able to give me a ball park estimate via email! I was very impressed with the direct, open, nonsense approach.  When he came by to finalize, we had measurements, a final quote and a signed work statement all wrapped up within 30-40 minutes; I was back at work before my lunch break ended. The install guys came 2 weeks later and did a great job in an awkward cramped utility closet. Started by 9; Done by 4. 5 yr guarantee on name brand units that some other companies had given me very outrageous quotes for. Did I say I was quite happy and satisfied?
If you feel like your getting jerked around a bit from a heating\cooling vendor, I recommend you give these guys a call. You might be pleasantly surprised!

We first contacted Princeton Fuel Oil in early November 2012 looking to fill our oil tank in our new home. We shopped around on Angie's List for fuel oil providers and ultimately settled on PFO because the ratings were great, price was comparable to other providers, and they are available 24/7 for service (important with heating in the winter, and not everyone offers it).
Steve came out within a few days to take a look at our boiler and oil tank and to go over the service agreement with us. He was punctual and pleasant. Within days we had our first oil delivery.
About 2 weeks later, Brian came to do the regular annual maintenance on the boiler. He, too, was punctual and pleasant, and was able to answer all the questions we had.
PFO came to top off the tank in mid-December (we like this automated delivery, it ensures we don't run out of oil and therefore heat). I misread the delivery slip at the time, and called with a billing question, which was promptly and kindly addressed (to my satisfaction).
On 12/29/12 we noticed the boiler was not operating properly - while we were gone for the day, it cooled down to 56 degrees in the house. The thermostat called for heat, but the boiler didn't fire. We called for emergency maintenance and got a very prompt and friendly phone call back from Joe, who suggested we try the reset button on the boiler (I didn't even know there was one!) which worked like a charm. He advised that if we should have to do this continuously, we should call for service as it indicates a larger issue.
On 12/31, on Joe's recommendation, we contacted PFO for service. I don't remember the name of the fellow who came out this time, but like all the others, he was prompt and pleasant. He worked quickly, found the problems, and fixed them. They were issues that were covered under our maintenance agreement (which I consider to be pretty comprehensive in comparison with other providers in the area).
So far we have had several interactions with PFO and all of them have been pleasant. We recommend them with the highest confidence in their services.

UPDATE 10/9/2015: In January 2014, we hired PFO to replace our existing oil boiler with a direct vent gas boiler. They helped us choose the right boiler model, coordinated all required inspections and permits, and disposed of our oil tank and any other equipment we no longer needed. The experience was great .Bill Steele was the salesman, and was straightforward, honest, and not pushy. He was always available to answer questions. The installation went very well, and the boiler is MUCH more efficient. They even coordinated with PSE&G to have the gas meter installed for us. They cleaned up when their work was done, and even sealed off the old boiler vents we no longer needed. Price depends on the boiler, but our total cost was close to $10k, which is to be expected with such a project (and with the efficiency of the boiler we chose, we will make that back by 2018 with what we save not buying heating oil). We would absolutely recommend them for such a job.

We had a terrible moldy smell throughout the house that was coming through the vents when the air conditioner came on. We suspected there might be a mold problem because at one time the furnace had a humidifier attached to the furnace. Plus, the furnace was 38 years old. I had three other companies come to my house and give me quotes for what they thought needed to be replaced but Princeton Fuel Oil was the only company that initially came in and started to look for the source of the issue, instead of just going straight to the furnace and A/C. It turned out the coil was in need of a good cleaning and the furnace was terribly rusted. We opted to replace both the A/C and Furnace at the same time because of the great rebates and incentives. My sales respresentaive made suggestions for other improvements to make to my basement to reduce the moisture. Additionally, PFO moved my water heater so it was to code and also grounded it. Finally, they performed extra work such as replacing part of the rusted ducts and redid the air conditioner drainage so it was more efficient. None of the other companies that came out took the time or the effort to make sure the existing components in place where in good order.

The installation was completed in two days. The installers were very professional and friendly and took the time to explain what they were doing and how everything worked. My sales representative also was at the job both days making sure everything got done properly.

My air conditioner and furnace is awesome. We actually have a nice smelling house and the air flow is incredible. My representative was a friendly and honest guy and I felt very confident that he was not just trying to sell me a system (unlike a much larger competitor who tried to sell me a lot less for a lot more). It's a hard decision to spend $12,000 these days on anything but I am convinced if you need a new air conditioner or furnance, you will be very happy with Princeton Fuel Oil!

IT WAS GOOD. THEY REMOVED THE OLD UNITS AND DISPOSED OF THEM. THEY INSTALLED THE NEW ONES, INCLUDING THE BOILER AND FURNACE WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME, MAKING SURE EVERYTHING WAS DONE. THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES AND ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS.
