It went well. The person who answered my initial call did an excellent job, and I was equally satisfied with the technician who performed the work.

Very professional and punctual. Lowered the reading from 7 to 2.

We had a positive experience initially with the technician Alex, who was very professional and knowledgeable; however, when it came to providing an estimate and scheduling the work, the office staff was very unprofessional and unresponsive. We had to follow up two times, after never receiving the estimate or call back, to schedule the work. Each time, we were asked to provide all our information again after providing it several times already. As a result, we decided to go with their competition which we were extremely happy with.

We need radon remediation done, so we called them. They were such a pleasure to speak with and were so knowledgeable. Although they don't service our area, they gave us a great recommendation.

They did a great job and also came back promptly to seal the sum pump when called back reporting the issue. The radon test results came back with less than 1.0! Would love to recommend to anyone who needs the service for radon issues!

They were great and definitely get an A. The price was exactly the same; they were no changes in the price from the time they quoted it to the day they came for the job.

I was far from happy to discover that my home needed a radon pump. But at least Obar took take care of it all in a professional, efficient manner that minimized the stress. Everyone I spoke to at the company, from the receptionist on up, was knowledgeable, pleasant and customer friendly. The installation (including electrician) was scheduled quickly and done in a day.

I have dealt with many contractors for multiple services and this company,by far, is the most professional company I have dealt with. Alex was very informative and responsive to all my concerns and needs. He took the initiative to explain in detail the best remedy and was fairly priced for the labor and cost of goods. I will not hesitate to recommend this company to my fellow property management colleagues.

I chose OBAR Systems from Angie's List after failing the radon test during my home inspection. After accepting their proposal OBAR came out within a week and installed the system. All the people I spoke with there could not have been nicer. They explained what needed to be done and did it. OBAR got the proper permits for my installation. After the system was installed the radon level was retested and passed with flying colors. When the township failed my building inspection because they did not like the straps that were put on the outside pipe that held it to the house OBAR stepped in immediately to rectify the problem. They called my township inspector explained about the straps they used and why they use those particular straps. The township code inspector then gave their approval. Thank you so much to Alex, Dave, Gunnar, William, who did the installation, and everyone else I spoke with at OBAR. It was a pleasure doing business with OBAR systems.

We discovered the radon problem within a short time before closing on sale of our house. Dave got us scheduled right away to avoid a problem. The original installer underestimated the number of vents that were needed, so we didn't get a favorable test result and came right up against a potential problem with our closing. Dave jumped right on it, shifted schedules as necessary to get someone to our house to correct the situation. I faced difficult buyers who wouldn't settle for the warranty from Obar, and Dave really jumped through hoops to help me out. We ended up with a reading of 2.6 and closed as scheduled. I called OBAR Systems after checking the reviews here on AngiesList and comparing to a list of vendors that the County considers to be legit and knowledgeable. There are companies who make claims and don't do the proper work. OBAR is not one of them. After testing my new home for radon, the reading came back at around 9.1 pci/L. If you're looking for a system, you know that 4pc/L is considered "safe" by the EPA. While not the highest level, I'd still rather not have it in my home at all. So I called OBAR. Alex came out and was right on time. He looked at what would be involved and answered the questions I had. As I tend to do research to familiarize myself with things, I felt comfortable with his knowledge. He showed me where the pipe would go inside and where it would exit out the side of the house, looking for the best place to hide the fan unit. He explained that OBAR would come in and install the system, and then an electrician they work with would come in and hook it up. I said ok, let's do it, and he said he'd check back at the office for when they could come out. I don't recall if I was supposed to call them or he was supposed to call me, but after a week, I made the call to the office to follow up. I'm a pretty easygoing guy, so it didn't bother me much. They were very helpful when I called. They didn't have Alex's notes in front of them, but they asked for the quote I received and set a date to come out. Will arrived to install the system and was half an hour early. He went to work and instead of placing the piping exactly where Alex had said it would go, he made use of some dead space in the room and installed the system there. A much better choice. The only complaint I might have is that when the system was routed through the crawl space and out the side of the house, it ended up being 4 feet off the ground. Not Will's fault, as the crawl space was not flush with the level of the ground as expected. I hadn't realized it either, so I guess I'll be planted some larger shrubs to hide it. The electrician arrived a few days later, due to him calling the wrong number. I called to follow up on that as well, and they were very helpful in the office. All in all, I was pleased using OBAR and would recommend them. The system lowered the pci/l to 1.3, making us feel much better about using the finished basement.

Obar Systems did a great job. They were responsive and we were able to quickly schedule a time for them to come and install a radon mitigation system. I would have no problems recommending them for anyone in need of their services.

Contractor was punctual and supplied remediation for our home without having to do any installation inside our home or garage (i.e., installation was all external) Contractor obtained all permits and arranged for electrician to activate the system (all included in one price). Subsequent testing confirmed radon levels to be significantly below government requirements.

Company unplugged existing Radon run under slab. Installed outside piping and installed fan. Electric also required as part of job. Both teams worked very well together, job was completed and running in hours. We also required closure of the french drains ( concrete) which was an added cost but required to ensure the system worked sufficiently. Inspections lined up and completed days after. There was also a test kit for radon which demonstrated where we were after the test. The results were emailed and sent via snail mail. Would recommend as this type of work is required in most of NJ and PA !

We were less than two weeks from closing on the sale of our house. We learned late Wednesday evening that we failed the radon inspection. I spent a few late-night hours looking at providers online in my area who could give me a quote and possibly get the work done before the closing. David O'Brian from OBAR was the first to call me back at 8 AM the very next morning. He asked lots of questions about the basement, square footage, etc... and he gave me a guaranteed estimate over the phone. He also committed to getting the job done in the next two days and to managing all the permits, etc (a Godsend when there were so many other moving things to manage). He guaranteed the results. He also didn't ask for a down-payment even though we never met before. By the way, I did get other estimates which were more expensive and could not be done so quickly. The team arrived promptly and got the work done expeditiously. We passed our retest with flying colors. And we were able to close as scheduled. I highly recommend this company and thank Angie's list for helping us find them.

I was extremely impressed with OBAR systems. When I wrote them explaining what was needed they actually gave me a few options and asked me if I could take pictures of the system we had so they could see and give us a good estimate. I was so impressed with their quick responses! When they came to replace the fan, they were extremely professional and took the time to explain to me how we know the system is working and what to look out for if there are any problems. he also made some recommendations for how the outlet should be set up for when I have the electrician come in to do some repair work. Very reasonable on price as well. Highly recommend!

One of the owners came out and quoted the price for what needed to be done. Technician came the following week and performed everything on the list. Tech was very polite and left everything clean. The test came back at well below acceptable levels. Would highly recommend.

I called Obar systems Sunday, March 30th, and left a message, letting them know that the radon level in my home was high, and I was hoping to get a quote to install a mitigation system. To my surprise, Dave called me back instantly - on a Sunday - and gave me a quote after asking just a few questions. Monday, I received another call asking me when I would like them to come install. Mr. B was here by 4/7, on time, with all the materials he needed. He explained how the system works, as well as taking the time to share why some techniques work well, and factors that make it more difficult to reduce the radon levels. He was very professional, and carefully....extremely carefully...sealed all visible cracks in the area he was working in. Aside from the pvc pipe coming up from the slab & outside, you would never know he had to drill a hole in my foundation or slab. Please thank Mr. B for being so professional, and treating my house so well. In addition to doing a great job installing, he is also a genuinely nice guy. The electrician showed up to wire the system a little while later. He was also first-rate, and ran the line for the radon fan without making a mess. This company is top-notch. From the first call through payment, each person I spoke to and worked with was knowledgeable and showed a lot of respect for my family's time. I can't say that I am glad I needed a radon mitigation system, but I am glad Obar is around to install them. I will be referring all of my real estate clients to them in the future.

I didn't know where to start, in terms of getting our radon mitigated. I did know I would only use a NJ certified provider (you'll find a list on nj.gov). I found a few companies, interviewed them over the phone, decided to go w/ Obar. Knowing what I know now, I would use Obar again, and recommend them. If you're not sure who to use, feel confident in choosing Obar. S/w Gunnar & Dave over the phone. There was no pressure from them to do this work. It was my own call to have them put in the system. Mr. B came and did all of the work. Excellent service from everyone at Obar. Their contracted electrician was proactive in scheduling the appointment to do the final step (the wiring). Less radon is better - glad we did it.

Responded to my initial inquiry the same day and set up appointment for that week. Arrived timely, very professional and knowledgeable, set up appointment for installation within a week. Installer arrived timely and was cordial, professional, competent, neat, respectful of our property, and left job site clean. Obar arranged for every detail including electrician who also did an excellent job. We have used many contractors and Obar would be in our top 5, we would not hesitate to recommend their service.

Very professional, very knowledgeable. They installed a much more complex system that they quoted for and did not increase the price. We were very impressed with their level of performance. Most importantly, the radon level was reduced to well below 1.

We noticed that the radon fan in our attic was making noise, and since we hever had it checked since we moved in when it was installed 15 years ago by Obar, we decided it was time. Made an appointment, the system was checked, and just the radon fan needed to be replaced. This was done at the time of the visit and it has been working well ever since.
