Great! Started w/Joe, who explained everything and why. Showed me my options, made suggestions, was very responsive to questions. Got another estimate just in case, and this guy wasn't even trying... guess he had too much work. Morning of work, were on time, made a racket, which was expected. Everything worked from the start. They carted all the refuse away, and explained what I needed to do.

the driver arrived late, but it was an emergency appt scheduled on same day, so that's fine. after looking at the A/C, the guy said it needed a new capacitor. he then quoted the price of just the capacitor at $285, and tried to explain that it was the 'best one on the market.' while he did the work, the most expensive one i could find on the internet was $100. being 90+ degrees in my house, i let him finish. i asked him again why it was so expensive, and he said that's the part price for an emergency job. in addition, the labor for 30 min of work was another $150 or so. total bill came out to around $450. as for the expertise and the quality of work, they were fine. they did the job quickly. i called to speak to a manager the next day, and he said he would get back to me. he never did, i'm guessing because there's no good reason to charge that much for that part. i understand that they did the job and that i paid for it, my issue is that i didn't expect to get gouged by a vendor provided by Angie's list. the whole point of this site is to find the reputable contractors, not the ones that overcharge customers during emergency appts. at least have the decency to call me back and try to explain it. will never use again.

Coolomatic was very responsive and accommodating. Very professional. They diagnosed the problem with the AC and made recommendations. This is the second time I have used Coolomatic and they have been fair and reliable.

The service technician arrived on time at 9:00am, he had been here before. Started with servicing the furnace. Spent about 15 minutes performing this work. Maybe it is my perception of what should be done, but normally in the past techs would vacuum out the burner area and clean the coils above the furnace and then tweak the burners, lubricate and check the unit thoroughly. Well there was no vacuuming, just brought down a small bag with tools and testing devices and in short order finished and went back to his truck. Next, he got his tools to check the outdoor fan unit (of course he was on his cell phone at this time and remained so for the time checking the outside unit). He proceeded to the back of the house and I guess checked the pressures of the condensing unit. This took about ten minutes, I would have expected some cleaning and lubrication of the unit but did not see this happen. After this he went back to his truck where he stayed from 9:30 am to 10 am when he came to the front door and presented the bill for $353 dollars. Hmmmm at that rate it would be $700 an hour for actual work performed. To be fair when this company originally installed the units in 2012 they did an excellent job and I rated them an A in all categories, but with this service I really did not feel that I got my monies worth to properly maintain the units. UPDATE: On 9/22/2014 I received a call from the owner of the company apologizing for the actions of their technician and requesting the opportunity to come back out and re-do the maintenance and make things right. This occurred on 9/24/2014 and the new technician took a more serious and professional approach to performing the maintenance tasks. He even found that the ignitor wire had not even been cleaned and the safety switch tied to the removal of the front panel had been disconnected (he reconnected it). He spent significant time going over and checking the furnace and the air conditioning and reviewed all of his findings and results with me at the end. I was very satisfied with this technician and feel I received quality maintenance on my heating and cooling system. I will change my opinion and will use this company again in the future. The owner does take very seriously the reputation of his business and sincerely wants to make things right with customers.

The sales rep Jon was very nice, punctual and professional. He gave emailed me a quote for a 1 day job at a lesser price than my first quote (though a bit higher than my second) but I had a friend who had used them and was pleased, so I signed the contract. The installers came about an hour late but were very neat and professional. Although Jon said the job would take one day they told me they had to come back for a few hours the next morning. They arrived on time the 2nd day and completed the job in about 3 hours. They showed my how to use everything even cleaning the little u drain. I would use them again and recommend them.

Nice guy, measured and verified the type and size system I needed, and then gave me 3 quotes that included both Carrier and Lennox brands. All three were lower than any others I've received so far, and in fact one was for the exact same equipment as another company suggested but wanted to charge me nearly double the price for. The suggestions were all for lower grade models of both brands, but I'm sure if I had asked for the mid range or high grade I would have received equally good quotes. I ended up choosing another installer who was slightly higher in price but who came highly recommended by someone I trust. Otherwise I would have chosen Cool-O-Matic. I recommend getting a quote from them in addition to any others you get. You may be pleasantly surprised at how reasonable it is. My only concern is that they offered only a 1 year warranty on labor, while other companies offered at least 2 years, some more. Equipment warranties by manufacturers are all comparable, 10 yrs on all, 20 yrs on heat exchange.

I really enjoyed doing business with these guys. Very sincere and honest. Talked about various options and were understanding about being on a budget. Did a thorough job and took pride in their work. Explained what they were going to do, performed the job and then explained what they did.

I work midnights, and had just gotten home. It was 8am, when I walked down to my basement to see it flooded. I saw where the problem was coming from, and quickly shut down the AC. After cleaning up the mess, I went to Angie's list to find a repair person. I had contacted two other companies prior to Cool-O-Matic. The first one I contacted, a women said that she was going to transfer me back to the service department. It rang for awhile, and then went to voicemail. I left a detailed message with my name and number. I never received a call back from them. SOOO, I'm glad I didn't wait. I went straight to the next company. The second one told me that they could send someone out on Wednesday. Well, today is Monday, and it is supposed to be over 90 degrees for the next few days. I set up an appointment, but then contacted Cool-O-Matic. Cool-O-Matic told me that they could have someone at my house between 2pm and 6pm. John arrived a little after 2pm. Was extremely nice. Went straight to work, and solved the problem within minutes. The entire time that he was working on the problem, he was explaining the process to me. He told me exactly what I should do, if it ever happened again. He also advised me to purchase a small water alarm. Bottom line is, this company sent an extremely knowledgable professional over to fix my problem the same day! They told me prior to him coming what the base cost would be, so there were no surprises. And, John did not try to run the price up or make the situation seem like it was worse than it really was. He was very comforting, which made me feel better about the whole situation.

Emergency tech called right back and asked questions And determined it could wait till next day. At 8am next morning, rep called to schedule appointment for that day. I was last on list but glad they could fit me in. I stuffed towels under the furnace to absorb the water till then. The technician said the furnace was backing up, hence the water on the floor. He cut the PVC pipe going to the furnace hose, changed the length of the pipe in the condensate pump and changed its pitch. He explained everything he was doing. His name is Matt. The other techs are good ,too. I bought my hi efficiency furnace & new AC from Cool O Matic and really think highly of them.

he arrived on time and performed a seasonal check of our heat pump.we do this twice a year for around 200.preventive maint .

The sales process was efficient and pleasant without a lot of pressure or hard sell on options or bells and whistles. It was a slow time of year for them so I was able to get a good price with a quick install date from when I made a decision to move forward. The team that came to do the install was on time, friendly and professional. They were at my for ~1.5 days and cleaned up after the first day and asked permission to leave a few items that were neatly placed out of the way in my basement. Upon completion the clean was immaculate and professional. The lead tech did a really nice job of explaining the plan, what they were doing and when. He took the time to explain system maintenance and operation along with providing all of the paper work. Overall it was a smooth, efficient process with an agressive price compared to the other quotes I received for comparable systems.

The job went very well. John and Sean were very prompt and knowledgeable of the system they were installing. The tear out of the old equipment took approximately four hours. The new system was efficiently and carefully installed over the rest of day one and approximately four hours on day two. The technicians were very courteous and thoroughly cleaned up the work area after the installation was complete. I again was very satisfied with the service I received from Cool-o-matic from their knowledgeable sales representative Todd to their installation technicians John and Sean. The new system is working great and I look forward to years of worry free operation and energy savings.

Everything went very well. Cool-o-matic installed my complete system in 2008 and did an excellent job so I continued my routine service and maintenance with them. The technician was on time and very professional in systematically going over both systems. I was very appreciative of tips he gave me as the home owner to perform to keep the system running at peak performance. I will definitely continue to utililze Cool-o-matic in the future for my heating and air conditioning service and repairs.

They seemed very confident at the job they were doing. They do a confident job and an adequate job. I didn’t compare their price to anyone else as I didn’t have the idea as to how much it actually costs. Their quality in general is pretty good. They do answers to my questions. They do come in when they say they would come but they give in large window like four hours and I prefer to have a smaller one. Though they come in within four hors but I prefer they come within two hours of time.

They were fast and prompt with both the estimate and the service. Their price was comparable to other estimates that we received. They were much faster and more reliable about returning calls and scheduling estimates and doing the work than the other companies we had checked.
