Overall, the work was complete, it took a very short amount of time (15 minutes), but my overall issue with this company is the pricing, and the lack of transparency when it came to costs. Fully admit that as a customer, we should have asked more questions, but I just wanted to detail out for others what happened and how you as a potential new customer should find out more before work is done. 1. Contacted the phone number within their profile and within the VM the recording notes to text them for the best response. 2. I text and say we have a leaky faucet and can they come by in the next day or so. 3. They can, and do come by the next day. 4. Within 15 minutes, one part was fixed, leaky faucet is now not leaky, and the guys get set to leave 5. We ask about costs, and we are told we will get a bill sent And #5 is my biggest problem, because I believe costs and potential costs should be laid out before work is done so a customer can assess whether that can fit in their budget. This did not happen. And when the bill came, I was kind of amazed at how much it costed, even with a $25 Angie's List discount applied. In the future, and I know no one in this field wants to publish their rates, but they need to be more upfront about their costs. The labor cost per hour for Richard Taylo is $150. So, just know, the moment they step in the door and start working, that's your base layer. Then of course you have potential materials, etc.. At the end of the day, the guys who came were perfectly nice, got the work done quickly, and were most importantly conscious of cleaning up after they were done! I was just a bit annoyed by the surprise on the billing and pricing. **Note on the cost of service below, that was after the Angie's List discount

"Thank you for your feedback. We are very transparent about pricing if people ask. We also find that we are very competitive with pricing, many times less expensive than other shops. We were asked to be at the home at 3 and we did show up early, we took care of the problem, not only extended the Angie's List discount-but upon complaint we extended an additional $25 off. We stand by our work and our pricing."

The person who came over was very professional and had expert knowledge of what the issues were and how to fix them. It took a while to get the invoice, but overall great experience.

My new kitchen and bathrooms look amazing! The owner recommended changing out old leaky and corroded pipes and now everything functions properly with perfect water pressure. I highly recommend to owners of historic homes as well as new construction.

They were well within the timeframe they specified they would arrive. The plumbing contractor of Richard Taylo who came was patient and thorough when explaining the problem and the solution. The service was great throughout the process and communication was a breeze. I would definitely hire again. I thought what I paid for what was done was very reasonable as well.

Rich came out to inspect the problem himself. He walked us through various options, and then recommended a staged approach in an effort to limit the scope of work. Due to the nature of our problem, he worked with his schedule to come back the next day to address as quickly as possible. In the end, his strategy paid off and he turned a potentially massive project into a relatively easy fix. Would definitely use Rich and his team again!

Jimmy and Bob did a perfect job for me in replacing those old galvanized and copper pipes and installing a new garden hose bib. I am very pleased and want to rate them A+. They are prompt, efficient, courteous, reliable, very professional, and are very interesting young people too. I will definitely hire them again in the future, and highly recommend Richard Taylor Plumbing to anyone who needs plumbing work to be done.

Scheduled to be a two day job, but Rich showed up with 6 of his crew to knock the job out in 5 hours with minimal disruption of water access. I was very impressed with the professional work that was done. After they left, I took a tour of the work done and found they forgot to reconnect the line to my ice cube maker, called Rich, and he sent two guys right back over to tie it in. I highly recommend Taylo, particularly for larger jobs.

Everything went very well. The kitchen sink drain had a slow drip in a connection point, it turned out the metal strainer had a degraded connection ring. They showed me the damaged part which made sense since the sink was about 16 years old and replaced the strainer and the PVC piping beneath. The guys showed up on time, we fairly quick and very professional.

We had a lot of demolition to do with multiple walls installed over the years. We also had to remove the floor (old mud base) and a dropped ceiling with unused heating pipes. Taylo helped with the permit, and worked with us at each phase, during the demo as we completed the demo and the rebuild carpentry tasks. Richard Taylo was available to provide advice as we progressed. The plumbing work entailed removing the galvanized pipes in the basement and replacing them with copper or pex. Taylo moved the vent pipe so we could raise the ceiling to the standard height. They did the rough plumbing for the new components and installed the tub. This included specs for the placement of the new fixtures (everything was moved a bit here and there). Taylo installed the toilet, vanity and all fixtures. (We used Madison Plumbing Supply on Kings Road for all fixtures and highly recommend them.) Taylo was on site for: initial advice, permit review, basement re-piping, rough plumbing, finished plumbing. I am not listing the price because you would need to understand the complexity of this project. Taylo's team did an excellent job and we would highly recommend them.

It went very well and I look forward to working with them again. The scheduling with Susan was smooth, they arrived on time and finished fairly quickly. The faucets look and work great and I could tell they took quality in their work.

Highly recommended.  Prompt, courteous and very professional.  We have had three plumbing emergencies in the last three months.  Two were heating system related (leaking steam return pipe and clogged pressure gauge on boiler) and the third was a broken drain pipe that was the result of a clogged drain.
In all three situations, Taylo was on hand within three hours of my call.  They temporarily patched the steam pipe and came back four days later for the permanent repair.  They diagnosed the pressure value clog within minutes and had the part cleaned out and the boiler up and running again within an hour.  The cost of these two repairs was $610.
The clogged drain/broken drain pipe was a bit more complicated.  When their snake could not clear the blockage, they called a snaking specialist they work with who arrived within 15 minutes and cleared the problem.  Rather than disrupt a very old cast iron drain cap, Taylo installed a new, much easier to access drain cap further up the line.  They also replaced the utility sink where the drain pipe broke.  This was all accomplished in three hours.
Taylo Plumbing is an outstanding organization.

We contacted four plumbers prior to starting these two jobs.  We had never used Taylo before.  There was no question that Richard Taylo was our choice based on his professionalism, good reputation and cost estimate.  His price was competitive with the market, but I am not listing it here because the two jobs were complicated, because we live in a 1926 home with many remodels over the years.
Laundry area:  Taylo replaced our old nasty drain pipe with new PVC and moved the gas dryer, washer and utility sink to a different area of our basement.  They also replaced galvanized pipes with copper and corrected/improved the gas lines into our water heater.
New heating system:  We had two "furnaces" - gas steam for the radiators in the old part of the house and a boiler for the baseboard in the new part of the house.  We replaced both 1980s furnaces with one new gas boiler.  The radiators were removed downstairs and upstairs and replaced with baseboard.  The radiator pipes were removed from the basement ceiling.  The old part of the house has stucco plaster and lathe walls, and breaking into the walls was not something we looked forward to.  Richard Taylo was very helpful in walking us through alternatives for running the new baseboard pipes from the second floor down into the basement.
We had postponed this work for many years and we are so glad we put these two projects in the hands of Taylo Plumbing and Heating.   Both projects were a lot of work with many heavy pipes to be cut and removed and tricky spaces to maneuver through with the new piping.   They teams did an excellent job.  The Taylo plumbers were polite, professional and very knowledgeable.   The town inspector was very complimentary, "Excellent Work".

I usually talk to Susan to schedule an appointment.  She is very professional and she called to make sure that their plumber came on time.  Frank did the work and he was very neat, courteous and professional.  He kept his work area clean and also cleaned after when he was done.  He did not do nor suggest unnecessary work.  He made sure everything was working fine before he left.
This is the second time I am using them and I am very happy with their work.  Have recommended them to my neighbors.
