I thought the work was completed well. I was very happy with the the end result. Communication was great as well.

It went perfectly. We had several delays in the start of the project due to weather and not scheduling. The total job took three days. The crew was knowledgeable, a joy to work with, professional and extremely neat. The property never looked messy and everything was cleaned up at night. They arrived on time every day and discussed how the job would proceed and asked if we had any questions. The fence will have critter guards installed now that we have determined that our dogs are escape artists who could squeeze through any opening. They immediately provided us with a solution to contain the dogs and a quote for the job within a few hours. Nothing like dealing with local vendors.

The job was done very well. Everything was done exactly as described in the estimate. Staff were professional and polite, the yard and driveway were spotless when they left. The new fence looks great and I suspect it will last for quite a while. With regards to communication there is room for improvement. We had to keep calling to find out what the estimated dates for the work would be. It would have been nice if York Fence had been a little more proactive in keeping us informed. The same goes for communication while the work was in progress. On the second day the weather made working impossible, but we only found out that no-one would be coming to do work once we called the office. A call to give us the heads up would have been nice.

The crew knew their business and got right to work. This was a big job; it took two days. They worked hard. They cleaned up after themselves so well that you didn't know they'd been traipsing around the yard. The gates are perfectly aligned. Nice job!

They came out and gave us the initial estimate in a very timely fashion. About 3 weeks after it was done I called them asking if the estimate would be sent, they then sent it. On 4/29/13 our down payment was cashed for the job. The work wasn't done until 7/23/13, quite a bit longer wait than we had expected. I had to call them twice to find out where we were on the schedule, of course it got pushed back a couple of times due to weather, but they never called me to let me know that. I was always calling them. Even when I happened to call them the week before the job was supposed to start, they had not called me yet. They did a very nice job with the work which lasted 3 days. I think they could have been a little better at communicating when the job would start and updating us with the changes to this date. Other than that, very pleased, did a very nice professional job and the workers were very nice and professional towards us.

Initially we had to wait as they had a backlog due to the storm (Sandy) last year. Once they arrived they worked hard and in a professional manner and finished the installation as scheduled.

We're very happy on our new PVC fence and got many compliments. Communication with the office was good, Debbie and other associates from the office was very professional, nice and quick reply on email and phone calls. We actually had a quote back in 2010 when we first moved in, but had budget concern. We email them back this Feb 2013 and they're able to match the same price they quoted us. We paid a bit more due to upgrade to another style because of township requirement. They took my $1000 deposit so quickly and the contract said there will be a 6-8 weeks wait. On early May 2013, still no phone calls, so called back to follow up, they apologized and said the materials were taking longer to arrive. Anyway, in mid May, one day I went home after work, I saw the utility co. came and did all the markings. Then the water co. followed after few days... I called the office and they're happy to hear the utility co. came and they also set up the work day for us. It should probably take 4 hours job max? But they took their time, eating breakfast at their vehicles and picnic lunch at my lawn... ha ha ha, I didn't mind but just a bit strange. They were nice enough to secure my arbor which was knocked down by "Sandy", I paid them good tips for this. The crew spoke Spanish but the team leader speaks English well. No problem on communication just a bit confused when they explaining how we want the gate open (from inside or outside)... At the end, they asked me to sign off a document, I eye inspected everything and signed, one vehicle left right away. Then I touched each of the caps, to my surprised, half of them were lose! They forgot to glue them or they put too little glue on it. I ran to the other vehicle and stop the team leader, he said he had to leave for another appointment but promised to come back after that job, and he did. Overall, we're very happy on the products and the work they performed, everything leveled well and secure. Reminder, you have to watch and check them throughout the process.

Excellent! I had been dreading the day when I needed to surround our attractive pool/patio area in the center of our yard with what I assumed would be an eyesore. However, when our daughter started to walk, that day was here. We received a prompt estimate that was honored 12 months later when we finally came to the decision to do this. The office staff was friendly, but I was initially concerned because we didn't hear back for several weeks after sending in our deposit. This, however, turned out to be the only hitch. The crew arrived promptly and were friendly, knowledgeable and extremely professional. They did an excellent job of fitting the fence to the contours of our unusually shaped patio, cleaned up thoroughly, replaced anything they had to move (e.g. my bird feeder), and added a few bonus touches like spreading the rock unearthed from the digging attractively along the edge of the fencing. The end result is aesthetically pleasing with solid craftsmanship. In fact, several of our friend's commented that they thought the whole patio area had been designed with the fence in mind. Great job York Fence Co.!

Overall it went well. I have to say that the ladies I spoke with over the phone were always curteous and pleasesnt, even when I was not pleasant on one of my calls. I put a deposit down at the end of February to lock in the contract and I was told it would be 3 to 8 weeks for work to commence. When I asked if I could get an approximate date I was told it would probably be the end of March, but I would see the dig marker flags go down on my property a week or two before the work would start. I started calling York Fence at the end of March, as I had not heard anything from them prior to that other than my contacting them for permit information I needed from them, and was told it would probably be another couple weeks as they had been bombarded with work at the end of February. Two weeks later I called again and was told we were now loking at the end of April. I called them when I saw the first dig markers go down and was told it would take another couple weeks. When I called again I was told the dig markers needed to be redone as they had expired. When I saw them go down again I called and then was told it would be another two weeks, I was so frustrated as I was waiting to get my driveway sealcoated and my pool could not be opened or even scheduled for opening until I had a date, and I was told I was alt the top of the list for the next job - needless to say my driveway was sealcoated while I was waiting and finally, when I called at the end of May I was told they could do it on Memorial Day weekend if I was okay with that. The crew showed up on time and as scheduled on Sunday of MemorialDay weekend and worked all day and told me they would be back the next day and again came as agreed. They were professional and worked hard to get the fence done. They did a wonderful job, cleanded up after themselves and other than chipping the sealcoat job (that had been done the week before) - I had absolutely no complaints and in fact have received many compliments of the fence. I will need to get the seal coat job done again, whihc I am not happy about, but I did not want to risk not having it done at all as it was in bad shape. Everyone I dealt with from York was professional and pleasant. The only thing I would suggest is that they contact all their customers when there are delays and keep their customers informed, rather than waiting for the customers to call them. I would use York again, but I would try to encourage getting firm start date rather than approximate dates/months. I know many fence companies in NJ are dealing with delays and long wait times due to many downed fences from Super Storm Sandy, but if you tell your customers the lead-time is 4 months they know they need to wait and that is better than promising a 3 to 8 week lead-time and not delivering.

Never arrived for appt. I had schedule this appt 6 days to get an estimate for a new fence. On the morning of appt, they called to confirm time frame for the estimator to come out (4-4:30). My wife stayed home with my daughter and waited for him to show. At 4:30 she texted me letting me know that nobody had shown up. I proceeded to call York Fence, and without even saying who I was or where I lived, the woman I spoke with says the estimator is running an hour late. I asked if they called people to let them know about this, and she said she didn't have the appt, on the estimator does. So again I asked, does he not call to let people know he running late? She proceed to justify his lateness, not once apologizing, Saying things like we do 20 estimates a day; some companies don't even give time frames; some estimates take longer than expected because of questions from homeowner; etc. I was very upset and surprised that she did not apologize but only tried to justify him being late without any notice. All she had to do was say sorry, and I would have kept my appt. But she sheer lack of professionalism and common courtesy really put a bad taste in my mouth. If this is how we get treated for estimate, hate to see how we get treated as a customer. Needless to say, I do not recommend.

They were cooperative and responsive when we needed the second quote for insurance purposes. The price was good compared to other companies in the area so we signed the contract and sent a deposit with a expectation of work to be done within 4-7 weeks. On week 7 we called and they said, sorry, we will make a call to have the lines marked. WHAT? So another week. We had to call again after no phone call 2 weeks later and they said it was too late, they had to had the lines remarked! Another phone call and they said by the end of the week. We call to confirm but due to rain they cannot do it. They finally call and say the ONLY time EVER they can do it is on Mother's Day and we are given 1 1/2 days notice to be home on a day for family! I've called back twice asking for a new date. They cannot provide with me. So I asked for a good time to call back and they cannot even provide me with that. What company can not tell me what is a good time to call them back?! One lady does scheduling and she always seems to be out to lunch or we are on hold for 15 minutes. No one else can schedule you. And by the way, we work from home, so we are VERY flexible.

Excellent. Well pleased as mentioned in the description of services from start with job estimate through to completion of the work.

The estimate was handled quickly - but we had to wait about 6 weeks for the repair to occur. No big deal. The men came (no advance call, no knock on the door) and repaired parts of the existing fence and replaced the parts that couldn't be repaired. The work was done quickly, cleanly, and well. I would hire them again.

The fence damaged by hurricane sandy was built only a few months back by the same company at a cost of about $1400. So when it got damaged by the storm, I called the same company. The damage was not severe: needed an extra post and the replacement of two short sections of the fence wire. So the cost of $426 was a little on the high side, I would say, being almost 30% of the original cost. But the workers were diligent and helpful and the quality of work was quite ok. Except for the higher price which may be justified if the quality is right, my biggest problem is with their policy on scheduling. They will promptly take an advance payment, 3 to 4 weeks in advance, but won't commit to a date. Let me be very clear, they won't give you a date at all, even if you are ready to accept a date two months from the date of advance payment, say. So if you are a busy person and have your own tight schedule, you are in no position to plan ahead. This is the first time (or, should I say second time, because I faced the same problem with the same company when the fence was first built by them) I encountered a company that can't plan their work in advance. "We will call you the day before to tell you that we will arrive the next day", they told me. I understand that for this kind of outdoor work, weather condition may adversely affect the scheduling. So one should be prepared to reschedule from time to time. But not being able to plan more than a day in advance is absurd in my opinion. This is what mademe give them a 'B' in responsiveness.

York was the lowest estimate of 3 companies we received prices from. The office staff were very helpful going over all the details and answering any questions on what exactly would be done as part of the estimate. They showed up sooner than promised and did an excellent job replacing the damaged section.

The job took one day to complete. The crew of four installers arrived on time with all the materials needed. They disassembled the old fence and stacked it to take with them when the job was completed. They set the posts in 32 inch deep holes and secured them by cementing them in. After they set the posts they installed the panels and the gates. They did an excellent job of paying attention to the details ensuring the sections were extremely level. After completion of the installation they leveled all the dirt from the holes and hauled away the excess soil. They also removed all of the old rotted fence material for disposal. The white vinyl fence really has improved the appearance of the property. We are very satisfied with the fence and the installation. This crew really knows what they are doing and did the installation in a speedy and professional manner. Of note the following Monday after the Friday installation our area was hit by super storm Sandy. Multiple large trees and power lines were downed in the area and we had three trees on our property blow over, but, the fence survived the storm as if it never happened. There was no bowing, displacement or damage. It remained rock solid which is a testament to the quality of the materials and the quality of the installation.

Ray came and gave us an estimate and explained the difference between his company and the others. Explained what it means to build on site. Explained the depth at which he pours concrete, which is much deeper than the other companies, and why this is so important to the integrity of the fence. You get what you pay for, he said. Like that is news to me? His bid was higher than two others I got, but I wanted a quality fence, so I went with York. So happy I did! They build the fence in a day. Unbelievable service.

Great price and service. The layout and terrain was not simple and they did a great job. - 1 1/2' slope- wanted on one side a curved fence- connect to an existing fence- repaired old fence Discussed with foreman in regard to best solution and I have to admit his ideas were more practical and looked better. He did not suggested the simplest way to make his job easier. Fence looks great and passed wife's critical eyes. They worked very efficiently and cleaned up after they were done. Might want to do some additional work later and will call them again. Update 2/24/2013 Tried to get an estimate after Sandy for 3 section repair. Waited for 2month and the company was only able to give me an estimate on the high side via email after numerous phone calls. The estimate was based on pictures I emailed. York Fence did not have time to come out and inspect the damage. I gave up on York Fence after I waited an additional month and requested a refund of the deposit. 'Refund' seems to be the magical word and they wanted to come the following weekend, but I did not need their service any more. York Fence refused to refund me and offered me 3 sections for the 480.- deposit if I pick it up ($160.- per uninstalled section). I paid 135.54 per installed section for the July 2012 fence installation. Needless to say, I will take them to small claims court and report them for overcharging after a storm. I contacted York Fence for an estimate on 125' of brown coated chain link fencing and a gate. Debbie responded quickly and quoted $2400 for brown mesh with galvanized steel frame. She indicated brown needed to be special ordered because they did not carry it, since it's not very popular. Debbie and I had several e-mails back and forth as I presented questions about price comparison with different options on the fence. She was very helpful. In the end I went with Modern Fence just because their price was $500 lower, even though I have heard many good things about York. I have seen their work in Hillsborough and it looks great. If you're willing to spend the extra cash York is definitely worth consideration.

A great experience from beginning to end. We had gone out for 4 estimates on this work, and YORK came back with the best cost and service. On the day the work was scheduled, thier team showed up with a large crew and set right to work. It was a hot hot August day, and thier crew worked tirelessly to complete the job. The crew foreman was a great guy, and when I provided a color full of gatoraid and drinks for the team, they were very appriciative. They finished the job in very efficient and quick fashion, even though they had to cut back some over grown bushes, had to hand dig many of the posts, found and adjusted for some pipes and electrical service that I did not know was burried around the permiter of the pool area, and generally left me with a very professionally installed and beautiful final product. I have another project planned to replace and re-locate the fence around the peremitor of my property, and I will not hestitate to give the work to YORK.

I had York install a new fence after my husband passed away. I wanted to upgrade the house as well as increase security. On the day York came, it was bitter cold, and my outside water line was frozen. They tried to use my neighbors water, and her's was frozen too. They ended up using water from inside my house. My point is, they just didn't give up and say they couldn't complete the installation because they couldn't get any water. York was prompt and professional. I would use them again if need be.

Very good experience. They were prompt for the estimate and when they did the work, and they were less expensive than others that I called.

Great. Very professional from 1st phone call to receiving estimate to having work done. Cant say anything bad. It wasnt cheap but we got what we paid for and are very happy with the outcome, even a year later. Updating on 12/13/12 - Two years later and fences are in great condition - withstood two intense storms. Would use this company again in a heartbeat. Updating on 6/30/14 - Moved and had York Fence install a 6 foot privacy fence between us and our neighbor and a 3 foot picket fence to portion off the yard and keep dogs from getting out of the yard. They are as outstanding as ever. Would not even think of using anyone else. Three men showed up 20 minutes early and spent from 8am until 4pm building the fences on our property. Beautiful and Quality!! They aren't cheap but you get what you pay for. Love this company!!!
