I am sorry to say this, but a lot of this review is greatly exaggerated, and some stuff is just out-and-out not true. The gutter were not cleaned in their entirety - yes, they were. Everything was cleaned in accordance to our basic gutter cleaning service. They simply threw the rotted leaves, mud over the side - this is true, but I wouldn't describe it like that. We blow the debris out of the gutter and mix it in to the nature green areas around the home. This is explained on our website as well as shown in the videos. I was told they would clean up the mess that came from the gutters but could not take it with them. - This is true, and is described as such on our website. There was no attempt to rake up the mud, moss, and rotted leaves they were just thrown on the ground - I wasn't there, and our attempt to contact the member have so far been unsuccessful, but I doubt everything was simply left how it was. The older and more decayed the debris is, the hard it is to do an immaculate cleanup. If the gutters we're cleaned 6-8 months before our cleaning, the cleanup should look amazing. If the customer the gutters for a few years, then the debris will be so decayed and fine that it becomes a muddy gunk that is almost impossible to blow and mix. the downspout areas were supposed to be blow out at the bottoms so water could flow after their cleaning. This was NOT performed. - Technically, he's right. What we do is but the blowers up to the downspouts AT THE TOP of the downspout and blow debris in the downspout down and out. If we blew the debris in at the bottom, this could cause a clog. Several of the downspouts had over time bent 1/2 closed, they didn't even take the 30 seconds it took me to go around and bend them back open so water would flow free. - I'm sorry that we didn't bend the downspouts for you. Honestly, it isn't something we typically do as part of the basic service, but if it only took 30 seconds, there is no reason not to do it. If we had been contacted at all about this, we could have sent you a refund of $5 for the 30 seconds of time you spent bending the elbows back open. One section of gutter has been pulled away from the house entirely, so not it hangs about 2 inches AWAY from the roof top. It appears when they were cleaning they pulled the nail that was attaching it previously. - This gutter was loose before we got to the home. The blowing may have made the issue more prevalant, but if the gutters are secure properly, a person could ladder up to a gutter and pull outward from it and it won't budget. A person could hang from a gutter by their hands if it is secured properly. Watch all the multiple videos on our website and you'll see several homes cleaned and no gutters pulled away. Nail get loose over time because the the only thing holding up the entire weight of the gutter and debris in it is a 7 inch nail. Only 1 inch of the nail is actually in the wood, leaving the majority of the nail exposed to the elements and hold lots of weight. When the temperatures change, the nail expands and contracts, stretching the hole it is in. After about 7 years, any homeowner would start to see pulling away. It just happens. The member says the gutters are 4 years old, but if the gutters have been neglected from cleanings, the lots of wet debris and water weight over time could have accelerated the problem. We found this issue before the member and notified him of the necessary repair and wrote and estimate for it and a diagram of where the gutter is. This is not something were the customer arrived at home with no word from us and found his gutter "damaged" as he implied. If anyone asks, I'm more than happy to send a copy of his invoice to view. Then when they called me, they gave me a bid to "replace" all of the gutters for over $1,800 dollars. The whole gutter system is only 4 years old. - There is no estimate for having all of the gutters replaced on his invoice. None. This is out and out untrue. We gave an estimate for 1 gutter, 1 singular 21 foot gutter on the front of the house that needed to be replaced, and 40 feet on the back of the house that needed to be resecured. the total for all the repairs where something between 300 and 400. We also gave an estimate for installing covers IN CASE the customer was interested. Covers are a luxury, but not something that is needed. It was an estimate to give in case the customer wanted it in the future, but could go his entire life without. Even with that estimate, it didn't come to $1800. I'm not calling the customer a liar, but this is, by definition, what I lie is. They've left may gutter system damaged and now I'm going to have to have repairs dome as a result of their work. - The customer is implying that we damaged the gutter, but if you take the statement literally, most of it is accurate. When we left, the gutters had repair issues, but the same issues were there before we arrived. Likewise, he does need to have the repairs done, but us or somebody. No receipt left at front door as they indicated they would do since it was a pre-pay. - I'm not sure why, but we had a note to email the invoice. We emailed it to the customer on 10/12 and we sent it again today, 10/17. The member has never called our office with any accusation or concern about his gutters or our service of them. The only contact we ever received was this inaccurate review. We did the cleaning as according to procedure, and had the member contacted us about being unsatisfied, I would have been more than happy to send the crews back to the home at no charge and redo the cleanup, though depending on the nature of the debris, and basically how long the member waited to clean his gutters between his last service and ours, we may not have been able to do much more. We did not damage any gutters but we did discover issues he had when doing our cleaning and inspecting. He received no estimate for replacing all the gutters. All he needs done is $300 worth of repairs and is gutter system will be working fine, and if he keeps up with cleanings, the gutters will last a lot loner, though he'll probably need the rest of the gutters resecured in 3-5 years. Bottom line, we have over 100 positive A and B rated reviews and we've won the super service award the last 5 years in a row. You have to be a member of Angie's List to post, so those reviews can't be faked. How can so many people be so happy with us and our service, and yet this service is completely different. That's because it is not. We've sent the member emails and left voicemails to discuss his review, but he has not responded. I urge anyone reading this review to take it with a grain of salt. There is much exaggeration in it and is not an accurate description of the cleaning of the member's home.
