For the first project they literally spared us from a true disaster. Thanks to Jean, Giovanni, and their team we were able to realize that the basement was worse than it appeared. They walked us through their findings, which turned out to be black mold which is a huge health issue. I have very bad allergies so this was something that could have been a huge health hazard for me in the winter if it traveled into the air in the vents. The team was very quick to come and treat the basement, install french drains and a completely new sump pump system to avoid any future flooding in the basement. They were so nice and everything was cleaned and the debris was all removed from the house. For our recent interaction with them they even further exceeded our expectations. I filled out the contact form on their website to let them know we wanted someone to come look at the basement again. Sammye from their office called me immediately and remembered my husband and I from our work with them back in 2015. She had already spoken with Giovanni about the situation and just wanted to confirm he could stop by first thing the next morning. Giovanni showed up early the next morning and spoke with my husband. He saw the mold and along with his crew member the two of them immediately got to work and removed it from the basement walls. This was something outside of their warranty and they still came the next day , addressed the situation and re mediated it. This is truly the only company who I have ever known to provide this level of service. They truly go above and beyond for their customers. We can't thank them enough for all they have done for us over the past 3 years. We will only use their services anytime we have issues with the basement, sump pump or mold. I absolutely insist you call United Waterproofing you will not be disappointed, they will exceed your highest expectations on both quality and customer service.

Giovanni and his crew were AMAZING! He answered every single question and concern we had. They took care of everything from getting all the permits, contacting an engineer, and coordinating with plumbers and electricians. We were so happy with all the work they did. Even the township inspector said they did a great job!

GIOVANNI AND HIS TEAM ARRIVED ON TIME. VERY NICE GUYS AND EXTREMELY COOPERATIVE. SUMP PUMP INSTALLED. THE PROPER AMOUNT OF BASEMENT FLOOR THAT WAS NEXT TO THE LEAKING WALL WAS REMOVED; GRAVEL PUT IN; PIPES PUT IN; AND OTHER STUFF DOWN ALL IN A TIMELY FASHION. CLEANED UP NICELY.

The foreman came and explained the situation (water building behind the wall, etc.), and suggested a drainage system with a sump pump to relieve the water pressure. On the actual day of the work, they came on time with a crew of ~5 people. They brought heavy duty plastic sheets and walk pads to line all our belongings and carpet, and went about their work. The work was noisy (drilling, etc.), but they kept everything outside the work area clean and tidy. Once the work was done, they cleaned up the work area as well. The work was done well, looks very professional and clean/neat. We can't test it yet, since the cement's still drying, but overall, we are extremely pleased.

Excellent service from start to finish Giovanni and his crew performed the work promised and even sprayed something to kill and prevent mold and mildew that may have built up from the sitting water. We had a small hiccup a week later in an area where they didnt drill because they did not want to cut the door frame--Some water was coming in. We called Giovanni who left a job site and came to our home within a half hour and checked it out. His crew was there within the hour and fixed it! Almost 2 months later and our basement has been bone dry and we've had tons of rain this summer!

While Steve Scarfo seems incredibly knowledgeable and nice/helpful, he was actually using his knowledge to scare me into a solution 5 times as expensive as actually needed. I know that for a FACT because I then hired a top of line structural engineer (StructuralMD) to do an independent assessment, and they contradicted some key recommendations from United Waterproofing. They were trying too hard to upsell me, and I don’t trust them.

A week after I signed the contract, the United Waterproofing crew came and removed the old pump, dug up and enlarged the pit, installed a new pump and a battery back-up pump, and redirected the discharge line. The crew was professional, courteous, and completed the job in a timely manner and cleaned up the crawl space after. The pumps have been working flawlessly ever since -- a big relief given that weather has been fairly on the wet side. United Waterproofing did an outstanding job and the price was reasonable (actually a few hundred dollars cheaper than another quote from a much larger, well-known company). I would definitely hire UW again.

I normally do not write reviews on this site but I’ve had such wonderful experiences with United Waterproofing over the past few years that I thought it was important for potential customers to see. I first had a whole basement waterproofing system put into my home in 2011 by United. At the time I only needed one pump but after Sandy and Katrina, the grading changed around my home and one pump wasn’t enough anymore. United installed two more in 2014 and both times I have to say their work was outstanding. I haven’t had a drop of water in my basement. If you are a homeowner, you know that something is always in need of repair and replacement. United, honestly, is the one company that I don’t worry about at all. A pump stopped working this week and within a day, Giovanni was out to replace it. I really feel that everyone at United from Giovanni to all the workers, really care about their customers. They are honest people and the customer service is top notch and no one does it better. United is the type of company that if I ever needed additional service, I would just call and not even bother with getting other estimates. I am that confident in this company. Hope this helps anyone who needs waterproofing service.

They were generally punctual and professional. However, the sales person was a little sales-y which was unnecessary. The salesman approach made it a little difficult to trust him and contributed to our feeling that the pricing was a little opaque. He gave us a discount from Angie's list, and then was vague about an additional discount if we were able to comply with their company's scheduling needs. We were flexible with scheduling and then they did not come on the appointed date! He was very apologetic and we did reschedule. When they came, everything was done as expected. We trusted their team's ability to give us the proper advice and get the job done properly. We can't tell yet whether the quality of the work is excellent --- we haven't had significant rain yet, but we are hopeful that the space will remain dry! After they left, our neighbor let us know that they had dug a ditch in his yard and disrupted his electric fence for his dog. Getting a response from the sales person after the job was a bit more difficult than it had been earlier, but he did respond fairly quickly, he dispatched a person to fix the problem, and they paid for the repairs to the neighbors fence. While it wasn't exactly true that the installation and process was perfect, they completely took responsibility for and fixed a mistake. That was very much appreciated by us and our neighbor.

They are a highly skilled and professional firm. Execution of the job was a whirlwind. Took just two days because of the crew they put on it. Alot of engineering I didn't expect went into the job, and every single element was done well from my perspective. Put United in the "expensive but worth it" camp.

The United Waterproofing representative was professional and offered a number of references. He quoted a more than fair price and scheduled the work. Everyone showed up on time and took great care to contain whatever dust was going to be generated. An additional small crack was discovered and it was promptly repaired at no additional charge. Giovanni and his crew went above and beyond to make sure the house was structurally sound and to get the job done right. His price was fair and he held to his original estimate even when the engineer required additional work to be done. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for water proofing, mold remediation or foundation work, you will not be disappointed!

They came out and prices the job, the. Scheduled it and got it done start to finish in two days. They pulled the necessary permits for us. Their electrician was great also. The job was inspected and perfect. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Giovanni and his team were extremely professional. They were prompt, helpful, kept us in the loop throughout the project, and completed the installation of french drains in one day. This was not necessarily an easy task as we had recently put in some ornamental landscaping. Thus, they needed to remove that, then dig and install the french drains, and then put the landscaping back as it originally was. At the end of the day, I could not even tell that work had been done. It was that neat -- and seamless. Also, the team was mindful of our old, historical property and occasionally found antique bottles in the soil which they carefully put on the side for us to peruse. We are looking forward to the next rainstorm so we can test out our new drains! Giovanni also provided suggestions for our gutter system and modified the existing gutter so that it drained better. Yes, we would hire this team again.

I called UW on Friday September 2 and they installed the battery within hours of my call! They tested the sump pump as well. The job was done very well, quickly, and professionally. I was very impressed with the responsiveness and the quality of work.

Giovanni from United Waterproofing came to appraise the situation and give us an estimate not including the town permits. He came on time and was professional and caring. The work was done in an expeditious and efficient manner. Giovanni and his workers did a top-notch job on everything. They did it in one day and they cleaned up. In addition the sidewalk had to be dug up since the town did not allow the drain pipes to go under the existing pavement. Giovanni also recommended Carlos Bravo who did an A-one job in restoring the sidewalk and repairs. My husband and I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs their services.

I had some really bad water problems in my basement in several areas. It has been 5 years since United installed my system. Since then - DRY, DRY, DRY!!!! My basement was always wet and smelled badly. The original system was not installed correctly by the previous home owner. Giovanni and his crew came out and did am AMAZING job! Neat and clean, these guys treated my home as if it was their own. At the time I was impressed and thought they were awesome. But could they stand the test of time? THE ANSWER IS YES!!!!! 5 years later the system functions perfectly. We have a wall to wall rug in the basement and have never smelled a hint of dampness. BY FAR THE SMARTEST AND BEST MONEY I HAVE EVER SPENT!!!! UNITED IS SECOND TO NONE!!!!

A stormy, rainy night on the eve of a two-week vacation to the West Coast found us feverishly trying to prevent a a river of water from a failed drain outside the door to our walk-out basement from entering the finished part. While on "vacation" we watched the radar, bought dams online, called Roto Rooter (who only clogged the drain even more), placed our pool pump in the stairwell and even hired a local handyman to put a tarp over the area. Once home, cutting our vacation short, due to more impending storms forecasting doom and a ruined 40k investment, we contacted United Waterproofing and several other contractors. We had estimates from 4K to 12k all with different ideas on how to solve the problem. Obviously, we wanted the path of least resistance, time-wise and price-wise, but with a resolution that would thwart any future situations we had just endured. We wanted to be able to leave the house in a heavy rain and not have to worry about our basement flooding. When Steve came out to survey the situation, he offered a solution that seemed logical, sound and reasonable. We scheduled an appointment in two weeks while frantically watching the forecast each day. When the owner Giovanni came in two weeks, he was professional, personable and knowledgeable. A new drain was installed, along with a sump pump and battery back up. However, he did not deem it advisable to put a new drain outside the door, which had ceased to work, lest it fill up with sand and cause more problems later on. Also, while installing the sump, water had built up in the wall. He advised that they drill holes around the perimeter of the unfinished part of the basement and install a pipe to the new sump pump to forestall future issues. We agreed, and they came back on Friday to do this work. That night however my husband was uneasy with water coming in through the door and draining inside. We asked Giovanni If he could install the drain outside the door, and we would be vigilant about cleaning it and monitoring for debris. When all was said and done we were and are relieved that the issue has been resolved. We had a few more heavy storms and the system in place is working. We also feel confident with the company's warranty, reputation and professionalism that if there was a problem in the future, United Waterproofing would seek a remedy. Just be prepared for two realities: cost and clean up. Two days work cost us over 7,000; clean up is another bear. We had to completely empty our gym area (where the problem existed), paint all the walls and redo the floors. Of course, the alternative of water in the basement is not an option. But, this was a 2-3 week project. Nonetheless, there is no price on solace and peace of mind!
