He came several times and spoke with my sister and myself. He gave us a quote of $37,519.34 and needed a payment of $30,000 with the remaining to be paid $1000 per Month. We met with Jamie at the local restaurant on July 27, 2018 to sign the contract And I gave him $30,000 from combining two credit cards. I also agreed to pay the Balance off in installments of $1000 per month. He agreed to start the service as soon as he had completed the roof he was doing. He stated in the contract the service would be completed by Oct. 1. On August 27, he called and said he had to complete the jobs he had scheduled before me and would not be able to start my service until September 27 and it would not be completed until October 28. I Informed him he was breaking the contract and I wanted my money back. The following Day he arrived and informed me and my sister he could not give the money back because He had paid his bills. He left and I contacted the Better Business Bureau and they gave me the Vt state number to call. I also called local lawyers who stated it was a conflict after hearing his name. A lawyer whom BBB had referred me to called and did an over the phone consult and his recommendations was to meet with Jamie and set up a date for him to start the job. My sister and I met with him and he agreed to start the job the the first week of December. When he was working at a neighbor’s house, I stopped and talked with him. He replied he need to finish up a job and then promised he would my service by December 15, 2018. I have not heard from him since. I am 76 years old, my husband died August 24, 2018, I am retired and due to his having taken my money my credit is ruined. I plan on moving back to my home in SC. Can you help me to get my money back? I would like to place a lien on his business.
