Absolutely awful.
Description of Work: Contracted to provide whole house air conditioning. Cut holes in my floors and put in some ducts and then never finished the work. Took them to court and after they delayed for months the owner said "Good luck if you win. I'll tell the judge I can only pay $5 per month". This is a very, very bad company.

Both zones were hooked up incorrectly. They did not match the air-handler with the compressor. The air-handler was 4-tons and the compressor was 5-tons. This will cause the A/C to freeze up when it runs a lot. So, every year a few times a year when we had a 2 day heat-wave or longer, my A/C would not work. They would come out and try out different fixes. They would add more freon. They would change the filters. They would change the circuit board that operated the dampers, the thermostats were changed. And of course the A/C would work again, because the system has been shut down for a couple days and allowed the ice to melt. So, i thought it was fixed and then when the next heat-wave came the same thing would occur. Now some of the repair that i mentioned above was performed by other HVAC contractors as i loss faith in CPH. But they did come out in the first few years. Finally, i called them back and said that i was sick of paying thousands of $$'s over the years and if they could come out and see what the problem is. In 2009 they told me that the 1st floor's compressor and air-handler did not match. They fixed that by changing out the compressor. I asked if the upstairs was properly matched and CPH assured me that it was and that had to be a leak in the system or something else. Sure enough the next heat-wave the upstairs froze up again. I finally had Ty-Mark come out and he said i am going to check the serial number and model number of both the air-handler and condensor and sure enough it did not match! I called Peter Cryans. He was on vacation and I spoke with Jeff Sauerman. I explained to Jeff that i was told the upstairs A/C air handler and compressor did not match. He asked me to gather the serial number and model number. Then i kept emailing and calling and of course no one would get back to me. I asked a good friend of mine who works next to CPH what i should do. He got involved and asked Peter to meet with me. Finally, Jeff sent me a email and said they decided they cannot do anything. I asked Peter if he could come out and see the mess and talk to him. But he sent me a email saying that he spoke with his attorney and that he was not required to do anything and for me to stop contacting him. My attorney believes that their could be fraud as they came out many times and did not catch the problem and they assured me in 2009 that the upstairs A/C was matched properly. They looked at the numbers on the air handler and compressor and flat out lied to me. And just to let everyone know. It does not say 4 tons or 5 tons. The numbers are multiples of 12, such as 48000 and 60000, so i had no idea of how to see myself. and i can barely change a light bulb so i was at the mercy of CPH. It is amazing this company is in business. This issue is the tip of the iceberg in my house. The venting system was not done properly. The air handler upstairs was framed into the house. When they installed the boiler, they forgot to put antifreeze in and the pipes busted above our garage in the winter and all the sheet rock was hanging down from the water leaking out. And what is most frustrating is all i wanted was to meet with Peter or at the very least a phone call. I asked him several times and my good friend did as well. I just wanted to look him in the eye and tell him my frustrations. I probably would have compromised with some sort of resolution, but he went to his attorney and my guess is hanging his hat on the statue of limitations. But I am thankful for sites like this that is only getting larger so people can make choices on who they do business with.
Description of Work: CPH installed my central A/C when my house was built in 2000. They hooked up two zones. Then they came out to try and fix the A/C many times. They finally discovered that they did not properly match the air handler and the compressor. They had a 4 ton air handler matched to a 5 ton compressor. I have called 3 other HVAC contractors and they have never heard of such a mistake. They did fix one of the zones, but assured me the other zone was properly matched. But i found out it was not properly matched.

The work performed at Mr. [member name removed] house was completed for Trainor Construction of Rye, NH. The work was not contracted by or for Mr. [member name removed]. Trainor Construction filed bankruptcy and at the time owed CP H Mechanical, Inc. in excess of $100,000.00. In good faith we replaced the equipment in question at no charge over 5 years after the installation. When Mr. [member name removed] contracted CPH again 9 years after installation and 5 years after the warranty had expired I told him to contact his builder as we would could not install new equipment at no charge so long after the original installation. This was a terrible experience. They were able to get a service technician out to look at the furnaces within a reasonable time but no one ever called to tell me what the problem was, how it would be fixed, or provide a pricing estimate. The furnances were relatively new so I needed the reason they were broken to determine whether it was covered under the manufacturers warranty. No calls and the office kept telling me it would be fixed "soon" but could not provide a date. 4-5 days later the furnances were repaired but I still had not heard anything from the technician or the company. The next interaction was a mailed invoice for $984. I was very surpised by this and immediately called the office. I was told a manager would call me back. No one called so I called back 2 weeks later. Again, I was told someone would call and no one did. About 2 months later after no interaction, I received a small claims court notification! I think the fact that this company would rather file a claim in court than have a discussion with a confused customer speaks for itself. I'm paying the invoice but will never use them again and would strongly advise other prospective customers to find another provider.
Description of Work: Repaired 2 broken furnaces in a rental property.

CPH Mechanical, Inc. responded to a no heat call and repaired the problems the very next day. The work was completed in February. After 3 months payment was never received. The office made many phone calls requesting payment but were never answered. After a small claims complaint was filed our payment was issued immediately. This case was resolved without small claims court assistance. Peter Cryans President CPH Mechanical, Inc.

Another appointment was set for the following day, with my request to call me if the technician was going to be late. Again, no one showed for the appointment and no call.

The work went well, though they were on the expensive side. I will possibly use their company again in the future.

Currently I'm out $10K and have nothing to show for it except some half installed ducting in my basement. I'm proceeding with legal action against CPH and I'm considering filing a complaint with the police.
Description of Work: In September I contacted several whole house air conditioner manufacturers to get installer references. CPH appeared on multiple recommendations. I sent a bid request to bids@cphmechanical.com and Maria Dellacosta responded from the CPH office. She came to measure our house to provide a quote. She came back with a quote a few days later and I accepted the proposal. She asked for a deposit of $10K on the system. When I made out the check to CPH she said "CPH is the part of the company that does industrial installations. The check should be made out to another heating and air company which is the part of the company that does residential installations." The following week, CPH trucks arrived to install ductwork. Then weeks went buy and no work was done. When I called CPH or sent email, Maria responded saying that the company was very backed up by the problems from ice storms, holidays, workmen out etc. When I reached anyone other than Maria at the company to inquire, they said that I should speak directly with Maria. Last week I called again and was told by the receptionist that Maria was no longer working there and had been fired. I was passed to the owner, Peter Cryans who said he knew nothing about the installation and that I must have been dealing directly with the company that Maria ran on the side. I said that my understanding had always been that I was dealing with CPH and that I expected them to complete my installation. CPH has not responded further and it appears that Maria has disappeared with the money.

This was a very unfortunate situation that hurt both [Member Name] and CPH Mechanical, Inc. [Member Name] had a written contract with One Hour heating & Air Conditioning to install a new AC system in his home. [Member Name] wrote the check out to One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning. Maria Dalacosta deposited the check into her company account One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning. [Member Name] originally went to One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning to complete his contracted system or refund his money. When he found out that One Hour had no funds he sought relief from CPH Mechanical, Inc. CPH Mechanical, Inc. was working in [Member Name]'s house installing plumbing systems. Maria Dalacosta was immediately removed from our employment when we learned of this situation. We sought legal advise and were told [Member Name] complaint was with One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning / Maria Dalacosta and not CPH Mechanical, Inc. Peter Cryans President CPH Mechanical, Inc.
