Used small snake and it did not work then used the motorized snaked to unblock the pipe. Took awhile to get it done, however was professional and told me the costs upfront before doing the work.

Their service guy tried to bully us into agreeing to $1000-$2000 of unneeded expensive repairs. He attempted to sell the unnecessary work by pressuring us with threats of bad things that would happen to our heating system if we didn't do as he insisted immediately that day. We got 2nd opinion from another heating company, and they verified that none of the prescribed work was actually needed. We had been grossly mislead. If you use this company, be very wary of what they tell you. Get a 2nd opinion before allowing them to do expensive work.

Parts and labor was $700. I had to make several calls before they would put me in touch with the technician who had done the previous work. No one ever called me, I had to call back twice to get a response. When they say, they are going to be there, they are there. They call you before they show up and they are very polite and they do great work. I have never had a problem with their professionalism, just their price. They are very expensive! I would use them again, because now we are into a plan with them. So, when we have an issue, we get a discount. They come out and do annual maintenance once a year on it. They take care of our air conditioning and plumbing as well for the hot water heater. They do excellent work, it is just expensive. But, if you value the quality of what gets done in a timely fashion, then you expect to pay a little extra to make that happen. If you want somebody who you don?t know and don?t know their background, you could probably find cheaper people to do it. But, Heritage has a very good reputation as far as I am concerned, except when they don?t do well and then I call them out on it. The workers are very confident.

We are still using them after all these years! When I have an issue with them, I let them know I have an issue with them. I shouldn?t have to, but they don?t have flexibility when it comes to that. They are good and they know they are good, and they have a price schedule and that is just it. If you want to differed with that then you got to speak up and keep speaking until things get resolved, and that is just the way it is, and that is all I have to say about that.

My air conditioning unit needed servicing, and the tech who did the job also looked at my furnace (didn't ask him to do that) and based on his findings he said that my 7 year old furnace needed repairs or replacement...his boss came out to "verify" it and seemed kind of pushy to get the deal done...I got a second opinion at my cost ($500) only to find out THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY FURNICE! I live in house that is only 7 years old at the time...I was totally played and will NEVER trust this company again...they talk a good game, but in the end its all about the money and how much work they can create. I would tell you that if you use them make sure you get second and third opinions.

I had a generator hooked up to my house. Everyone was very pleasant. But everything took 3 days longer than I was told (I was told 2 days total). On the last day Ryan made a mistake and cut (I don't know how many) wire(s) that had nothing to do with the job. The end result is an unsightly tube or something on the outside of my house and a random plate almost in the middle of my living room wall (which I block with my desk). I will only rehire again because I believe that they should be the ones to maintain their product(s).

So I wanted to leave this review before it gets too far away. I feel giving good credit for good work is important. I’ve used Heritage PHCE more than one. Every time the guys they have sent out have been, friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and they care about what they do and the people they serve. Dennis P. is no different. (The plumber who they sent out for service.) In my opinion Heritage is a bit more expensive than the average plumber, but they are serious professionals and you know exactly where your money went. I’ve never had a surprise with them. I needed a few things to be done for a condo that I am selling, and was part of the agreement. All were jobs that I might have normal done myself (smaller jobs), or tried to. I’ve used Heritage mostly for my emergencies, but since we were under contract, a licensed plumber was called for, I called Heritage. We had an appointment, Dennis was on time. He took care of three items for me. A diverter that needed repairing, a toilet that had a slight leak in the back, and a proper drip leg for my hot water heater. Dennis and I reviewed the jobs, the pricing, and the options. He gave me his opinion, but ultimately the decisions were left up to me, and there was no pressure for upsells. He made sure that I wasn’t being billed for anything that I didn’t have to be charged for. With a plan in place he got to work. Having some other work to be done around the place I got to my work. All three jobs were done in less than 2 hours. Not a bit of water was spilled anywhere. Dennis chatted and explained everything that he found, and why he did what he did. Because I was interested he even showed me some of what he did and equipment that he used. There was not a single extra charge, it was all like we talked about and he even managed to bring the price down a little bit. I was provided with electronic invoice of services detailed, which I needed for my closing, and that as it. On time, and in budget. Bottom line, Dennis was the complete professional I expected out of Heritage PHCE. It’s a good company, and I would completely use them again. In fact I have some work to do on my place which includes a new heat zone. I plan on using Heritage.

We've long used Heritage for our HVAC services since we installed central air back in the late '80s. We're on their pre-paid service plan. At the appropriate time of year they check our furnace or A/C to make sure they're up to snuff. We also used them for those emergencies like when it's 95 degrees and the A/C decides it wants to go south for a while. Heritage called us and scheduled an appointment for yesterday. Jamie C, the tech, called to give a time of arrival, came on time. Their techs always put their little booties on over their shoes when they come in, even though it isn't always rainy or snowing out. The techs are very neat and courteous, answer questions thoroughly. The work is done in a timely fashion. During yesterday's service visit, Jamie found the capacitor on the outside condenser unit to be out of specifications. He told me what the specs were, explained why it was important. Then he gave me the price to replace the part. Don't get me wrong, I'm a cheap penny pincher by nature but paradoxically I also believe in getting what you pay for. I didn't have the boss (she who must be appeased) pre-sign a check before leaving for the day, not expecting anything beyond the cleaning and checking the system. I had to tell Jamie I couldn't pay for the repair at that time. He said 'no problem', left a work order and told me to just call when we're ready and they'll honor the price. Which by the way included a discount because we were a pre-paid customer. Some people squawk about the high prices but it's not something I can say "Oh, never mind, I'll do it myself." It will be done right, done timely and they'll warranty it for a year parts and labor. Being comfortable in my own home is really important to me, I don't want to mess around with it and try to nickel and dime my way through it. Life's too short.
Description of Work: Jamie C. performed the annual prepaid inspection and servicing of our HVAC system yesterday. Upon inspection a part was found to be below specifications and we were given a price. After reviewing with the boss (she who must be appeased) we called and the part was replaced today.

Keeping it in mind that I my pipes were frozen, and Nick L., the service tech from Heritage PHCE, it very well. This was an expensive and was almost a two thousand dollar bill. Given all of this I felt I got a fair price for the work, and I would certainly recommend Nick L. or Heritage PHCE in general to anyone looking for a plumber. So frame the problem it was cold, below 0 degree Fahrenheit for most of the week. We live in a split level ranch, that the previous owners/ or builder ran the forced water heating pipes through the overhang section; this leads in turn to a situation where pipes can freeze easily if circulation isn't maintained. Due to my own oversight I had run my pellet stove to much, so my forced water heat didn't come on. The result was frozen pipes in two sections that I was aware of, and one of those resulting in breaking a welded joint open. I was lucky though and the frozen pipe plugged itself keeping water from going anywhere and causing damage. I was not the only person with this problem so it did take Heritage a full day to get someone out to our house. Original estimation was that I had to wait two days but they managed to get someone to me the next day. Nick showed up at 8am in the morning, surveyed the situation, found the frozen and damaged area, and came up with a plan. We talked over the problem, he made me very aware of the costs, how much time it would take him. We had an agreement. He got a pipe heater which is a very expensive piece of equipment for them to use, about 485 dollars per hour in service costs. Nick got to work, following the plan. Unfortunate during all of this he found another frozen section near the first so the price of the work doubled, but he let me know ahead of time so I could veto it if I wanted. I said go ahead. So he cut in to the pipes, kept the damage to my walls at a minimum, and refilled the lines to test the job out. The result was actually finding a third section that was frozen as well. It was not 4pm. The second was in the ceiling of my garage, right under my bedroom. He made me aware of the costs to do it (which would likely have been another 2k, and tearing up my garage ceiling. Nick's assessment that it would take him another 4 hours at least, plus pipe thawing, and damage. He recommended that I ride it out, and hope the pipes thawed without bursting. He showed me how to circulate my own system, the order in which to reheat if the pipes did unfreeze, and gave me his card in case I needed to ask him questions later free of charge cause he felt guilty he couldn't fix everything. To say the least he called it just right. With the increase in temperature for the next day the pipes unfroze on their own and the water started flowing. My heating system was saved. I followed his instructions mostly (and made a mistake which was my own fault.) But really Nick's advice was spot on. Summary I am extremely please with the service I got. Plumbers are expensive, but I felt I got my money's worth. He was polite, professional, knowledgeable, and was always aware of how expensive this was for me and tried to hold down cost wherever he could. I'd have him or any other Heritage service tech out again for work. I plan on using them to put in another zone in my basement this summer once I finish saving up the money I feel that confident in them.

First off I will state that this was my third time using Heritage PHCE. I have been very impressed by their professionalism and how much they have paid attention to my own situation both to help get my heating system repaired, and to what type of impact they had on my wallet. Mike N. was the plumber who came out for my service call to repair a zone valve that I had damaged the gasket on. I fully expect that I was in for a 600 to 700 dollar bill. Mike did it in $89! Instead of replacing the valve he attempted a successful repair. So far I have yet to have a bad experience with this company. I would highly recommend them to anyone else.

It was quite cold on the day of service. My household consists of my wife and I, both seniors, and my wife's 69 year old special needs sister. Our oil furnace was working fine when we scheduled this service. After the tech had completed his work, I went downstairs to review the service with him. He commented there was a measurable carbon monoxide level outside the boiler. He told me he had difficulty closing the door and the gasket no longer fit properly. He told me it was company policy to take such a boiler OUT OF SERVICE, and put a "Lockout/Tagout" tag on the front of the boiler. We discussed the possibility of replacing the boiler in the Spring or Summer, but he was unable to give me a definitive cost for the work. He packed up and left me with a boiler that now DID NOT RUN BECAUSE HE HAD TAKEN IT OUT OF SERVICE. Remember, it was cold outside. I took the tag off the front of the boiler, turned on the oil supply valve and fired the boiler back up. I have had absolutely no trouble with the boiler since that day and it runs fine. The company practice of offering a coupon then taking a working heating system out of service is their way of up-selling the public for routine work. They will never come into my house again and I will always tell this story when asked if I can recommend someone to service a boiler.
Description of Work: This was a routine"annual" heating system/boiler service. We always had this done for each heating season. Our regular company was no longer offering annual service, so we have spent a couple years trying to find someone reasonable that we trusted. This was the first time we used Heritage for this service. This was the cost after a promotional coupon.

Response from Heritage Home Service
{Member's name removed}, thank you so much for sharing this experience. We completely understand that it is a frustrating surprise to be told that a seemingly functional heating system has to be shut down. For that reason, we offer a $500 guarantee in which we will show our findings to the third party HVAC company of your choice and if we cannot prove to them that we are correct, we will pay you $500 for this time. You've stated that your service was in November, so if you were at all interested in having another inspection, we'd like to set that up at no cost to you. Carbon monoxide leakage is a very serious issue, and we are extremely concerned for your safety. If we once again find that the system needs to be shut down, we would be happy to offer that $500 guarantee to prove the findings. If the danger is no longer apparent, there will still be no charge for the second inspection. We would really appreciate the opportunity to make sure that you, your wife, and her sister are all safe.
