Excellent service. Very competent and courteous installers. Excellent technical knowledge from sales person.

They did a wonderful job. Trane is not the cheapest, but we have another Trane for the house which has performed excellent which they installed. We have two systems installed.

Workmen were on time very clean worked to get the job done in half day curious left every area clean and neat . Follow up by supervises great to work with very professional.

Overall everything went quite well. I wrote a review after the install but since it has been almost a year I can't remember all the details other than we were totally satisfied with everyone we dealt with

Outstanding...Jeff Ladwig was great. Sales process was thorough and he explained each and every fact and figure. Completed a Manual J analysis, which is why I went with his bid over the other two contractors who provided bids. As a result of the Manual J analysis, we discovered the original system had an inadequate return air system and minor modifications to the return air system were required. Jeff watched throughout the entire process, checking and double checking the process and ensuring everything was done correctly. The installation teams (two of them) finished up the entire remove and install in one day. System has evened out our heating distribution throughout the house. Now the cold back bathroom is warm and toasty for the first time since we moved in. Will have to wait for the spring/summer to know if the changes even out the cooling of the house. Can't thank the folks at River City Heating and Cooling for their professional work. Would definitely recommend this company for any of your heating or cooling requirements.

They were on time. They showed alot of job knowledge and were polite and friendly. They cleaned up mess and showed me how the new units work.

We had a very old air conditioner which worked fine, but wanted to upgrade to a new one because we were looking at getting a patio installed and the air conditioner would need to at least temporarily be moved to perform the work. Realizing there there was a cost to unhook and rehook the unit back up, we decided to take the opportunity to purchase a newer, more efficient model. We received quotes from over a half dozen vendors. One thing that concerned us was a lack of consistency in what we were being told. In the end, we decided to go with a Trane as we discounted some vendors due to brand quality and reviews, cost, knowledge of products, etc. Two or three of the vendors had given us Trane quotes so having narrowed down to them, we considered what work they recommended be performed and how they'd do it, along with the price. All in all, we felt the most comfortable with Jeff and River City. They moved the unit location from being on the ground in the back of the house to being mounted to the foundation on the side of our house with a bracket. They instructed us on the unit and did a good job of cleaning up after themselves. The contractor they hired to rewire the electrical left a small amount of items in his wake that required us to clean up after his departure. Jeff visited after the install to ensure all was good.

Fast, efficient, clean service. Could not have asked for more.

They were good. They were prompt and their price was good. They were very thorough. My overall experience with them was excellent.

When I called on approx. May 8, 2012 I spoke with Jef Ladwig. He was extremely professional and answered all questions we had. I explained to him that we would like for him to come out and give us an estimate but I could only have it done on Sat due to our work schedules. Even thou he had plans he worked it out to be at our place at 10 am on Sat. He gave us a very fair estimate and we called him early the next week to say we have chosen River City Heating and AC. When we called Jeff to set up install date he gave us the date of May 25 which surprised us he was going to be able to schedule it so quickly. On the morning of the 25th, the installers were here promptly when Jeff said they would be. They were extremely professional and attention to detail was amazing. They cleaned inside and outside before they left. Jeff returned on the June 7 for a final inspection which went very well.

It was a incredibly hot day, I am sure there were many AC issues, he arrived within the hour of our call... After 6 pm. Repair completed in a timely manner. Price seemed a little high, but we understand that this was an emergency call that was repaired on overtime rates.

I like their professional and responsiveness. They are timely. I also like the cost.

Jeff came out to give us an estimate and during the testing of our current system found that the duct work that was installed by our builder was done incorrectly on the north side of the house. He also told us that the system that was installed was for a 1200 square foot house (my house is 2300 square feet). We also found out that the heating system was pieced together with different manufacturer parts. Jeff sat down with us and gave us all of our options with the different prices. He told us it would most likely take two days with everything that needed to be done, but Jeff had 2 crews out to do the work and they finished in 1 day. They were there on time and they stayed until the work was done. They were clean and professional and got the work done in a professional manner. They represented the company well.

We met with the foreman and the owner a number of times prior do beginning the project. We requested these meetings to clarify questions and discuss pricing and payment options and to evaluate the various options to meet our particular heating and cooling needs. We agreed on a plan and determined that our home would need some electrical work prior to the installation of the HVAC system. We contacted local electrician which was recommended by River City. After planning the timing for the installation with River City we contacted the electrician. We worked with both contractors, but they also did some coordination work between themselves. The team came to the house on schedule and were able to complete the work more quickly than they expected. They worked quickly but when there were options or questions for or from us they cordially allowed us to interact with the project. All work was completed to meet our expectations and the agreed upon price was the final price for the project. They stood by their motto "we're not don't done until you're happy."

We dealt with Jeff Ladvig. He struck us as knowledgeable and professional and his price was very competitive. In the end we chose River City over two other HVAC contractors due, in large part, to their good reviews on Angie's List. Having been through this process just a few years ago at our old home (with a different contractor), I was impressed with the professionalism of the River City employees who came to our home to actually do the work. This company offered four-years-same-as-cash financing with Trane that neither of the other contenders did (they offered three years only). Also, River City offered a ten year warranty that neither of the others did.

The problems: 1) 9 months after the furnace was installed (in Aug with 95 degree heat) it came on full blast; no one had ever told me about the "off" switch installed (including River City's "emergency" person that I spoke with at 1 AM in the morning). They cam out to fix the problem, told me (after a sweltering night of full blast heat) about the emergency switch and charged me $87 for the call. When I inquired why they left the 50 year old wiring in place instead of replacing it with new, they told me it was standard procedure and everyone did it. I didn't know any better so I accepted their "word." 2) The Rheem water heater they installed in 2011 was about 6 or 7 years old (unbeknownst to me of course). It went belly up after 5 years and had to be replaced. This time I hired Ak-Sar-Ben and the installer commented that it had lasted a long time. I corrected him and showed him that it was much less than 10 years old by the sticker that RiverCity had installed. He was the one who showed me that they had installed an outdated model. 3) When I had my HVAC system replaced by Fred's Heating and Air in September 2011, they commented that the A/C & furnace RiverCity had previously installed was "construction model" meaning the bottom of the line--what they put in new construction...the cheapest of the cheap. Of course RiverCity charged me regular residential prices for both. I have called River City out to my house numerous times over the course of the 15 years that I had their HVAC system; my main complaint was that the house never got cool in the summer. They basically shrugged and said there was nothing they could do--everything was working as it should have been (yeah, for a 'construction model' AC!). While I was getting bids to replace my heating & air system, one of the salesmen commented that RiverCity's employees could never work for their company because they couldn't pass the background and/or drug check! Will I do business with RiverCity again? No freaking way! I feel like a fool for ever trusting them, but to trust them repeatedly--I really feel like an idiot!

They did the job for free because I referred them to a relative, which I was happy to do because I like them. In regards to the grades, I don't think anybody is an A, so I give them a B.

We have a service agreement with them for about $300 a year. They do a good job and we have been very satisfied with them. They have done a lot of work for us over the years. Their prices seem reasonable.

They came out right away and diagnosed the problem. It was nice and quick. We would probably use them again.

Jeff was able to see us the next afternoon and give us an estimate on several SEER option units. We called back to schedule on Sunday, and he had two men out to install Tuesday morning! Jeff came back out two days later to check the work done and collect payment. The price quoted was exactly what was owed. They have a referral program with cash back if someone buys on your referral.

Overall, went well, with only a minor concern on my part about testing the installation. Sales manager spent just enough time to explain the system, how it works, and how it compared to another H&C company's proposed installation. No hard sell. Not long-winded. Negotiated a good price. Installation seemed to go well. However, when they indicated they were wrapping up, I asked if we should test the furnace. I don't know whether or not they would've tested the furnace had I not said something. They ran a quick test and it turned out that the furnace would not work due to a missing part. Good thing we tested on 8/6, versus finding out 3 months later. River City delivered the part within a week. I asked the technicians if we should run another test, just to make sure the furnace is functional, even though it was a small, easily installed part. They said no need, due to the minor nature of the installation. Sales manager arrived later to inspect the furnace and to collect payment. He ran the furnace to check it, checked some dip switches, and all was good. He noticed that the furnace made a slight rattle, so he recommended that we monitor this during heating season. If the noise still there in January, then RC will replace the motor.

They did a great job. A few years down the road I had trouble with one part and they replaced it at no charge. I've had nothing but a good experience with them. They were very accomodating through the whole installation. I recommended them to some friends and they also had a new system put in. The listened to everything - all my concerns. I wanted the thermostat moved around the corner, I didn't like the location of the AC I already had so I wanted it moved and they did that. They did it with minimal destruction and they were very careful about my things, tracking things in and out and my house. They just were very professional. It was expensive, but it was worth. The price wasn't cheap, but it wasn't out of line.

The first part of October we purchased a new heating and air conditioning and they moved it from one side of the utility room to the opposite of the utility room. Everything they have done has been wonderful and they also got rid of the old unit for us. We spent $12,000 on that work. I was pleased with the person that came out and did the bidding. He Knew exactly what was going on, had been in the field and did a lot of explaining. I felt that I good really trust him. He did a good job. I interviewed another company. I liked the company and the young man that was out here, but he was a sales person and felt that he did not know the business.
