The Dr. seemed distracted, impatient, and probably stressed. He called my condition hammer toes. Did not like my choice of bandages. Suggested another bandage which I used until it got pricy and uncomfortable. He said he would order some shoe inserts, and they would call me when they came in. Not receiving a call from them, I called only t be questioned impatiently by staff about the authority of my call or reason for the need for the inserts. I have since found a wonderful bandage which I can wear comfortably days at a time. He also gave me instruction on how to stretch my toes to reduce further damage. I thought I needed more therapy than a 2 minute demonstration on how to stretch my toes.

I would have liked to hear about more alternative treatments, as opposed to more pills/medicines. The tech did an awful job with the orthotics he made for my shoes. Told the doctor at a following appointment but have not been back to address any further. Foot has made some progress on its own. Not having pain or taking any meds.
Description of Work: Foot neuropathy. Dr. Cates was very nice and knowledgeable.

See above. The unfriendly and snarly receptionist certainly added to my reason for leaving the office. The office obviously overbooks and can not get to their patients in a timely manner. Lack of communication from reception staff adds to the problem. As a new (low priority I guess) patient, I did fill out many, many page of forms which included asking 8 times for my date of birth. Dr. Mothershead gets very good reviews on Angie's list. He is probably a very good doctor. I will never know. But the doctors should realize that no matter how good they might be, they can not keep patients waiting indefinitely and a dysfunctional and grumpy front office staff will not help retain business or cultivate new patients.
Description of Work: I never saw the provider. I left the building after waiting for almost an hour after my appointment time.

While the treatment was successful, had I received a bill after the first visit I would not have gone back. In order to locate where the cortisone shot should go, they wheeled in a machine to help with the location. I didn't realize that 5 minutes with that machine was costing me over $300. Then another $200 to get the shot. Plus $180 for the office visit itself. The $300 for five minutes is very frustrating. As a healthcare provider myself, I understand the need and right to make money. But in other practices I've had doctors explain how much something was going to cost beforehand if the treatment is going to be expensive.
Description of Work: I saw Dr. Mothershed in January with plant faciitis and bursitis in both feet. He was very nice and explained things well.

Dr Robb Mothershed was helpful with my toe and feet problems, prescribing new shoes and providing an insert for the shoes. I believe this will eventually be helpful however, I have a swollen knee from a knee replacement surgery in Dec 2012. The new shoes/inserts cause more pain for my knee.

Dr. James Mothershed is absolutely the kindest doctor that I have ever seen. He treated my ingrown toe nail / injured toe by removing the ingrown part of the nail. I was so scared but he was so kind and re-assuring. The procedure was simple and gave me so much relief. I followed his post procedure instructions and my follow up was excellent and healing time was quick. The pain from the ingrown nail and injury was relieved very quickly. I will continue to use Dr. James Mothershed for any foot / ankle related issues. He is excellent! A++
Description of Work: My visit was for a severely ingrown toe nail and another injury to the same toe (dropped a heavy object on it).

I had a number of issues I was concerned about related to my feet...corns & bunions, possible toenail fungus, hammertoes, periodic sharp pain/popping in my instep. I decided it was time to consult a podiatrist. I based my selectino solely off of Angie's List reviews. The appointment was set up for just 1 business day after I called their office. The new patient paperwork I completed was quite lengthy and I believe could be streamlined some (as is typical in most Dr's offices - they have you write down a lot and then they ask you the same questions anyway when they come into the exam room...first the nurse, then the Dr.) The waiting room was very crowded when I arrived. But they handled the volume of patients expeditiously and my wait time was not very long. The buildling the practice is in is very plain jane. But if that keeps costs down, as long as it is clean, which it was, I'm okay with that.
Description of Work: I found Dr. Robb Mothershed to be very personable and professional. He dealt with my questions in an understanding manner. Given that there is nothing to be done for most of my issues at this point, he made me feel like I had not wasted his or my time in that down the road each of these things may cause problems. He made suggestions about shoe brands (and stores to find them in) which may help forestall the need for bunion surgery. He gave me instruction for stretches to help the hammertoes and a Rx solution to put on my toenails (as well as suggested using a common household product as a nail cleaner between polishes).

It was a smooth appt. My foot had healed well and Dr. Mothershed confirmed that I could start putting weight on my foot during exercise once again. I was in and out of his office quickly. Following the appt all has continued to be well.
Description of Work: This was a follow-up appt for problems I had following foot surgery to remove 2 pins that had been left i my foot (intentionally) after bunion surgery. The pins had moved around and Dr. Mothershed removed them in early April. I participated in a very long hiking event end of April and after that event had problems at the site of the incision to remove the pins. This appt was the follow up after I had gottena cortisone shot and instructions for avoiding exercise on my feet.

Checkin with the receptionist was fast and I only waited about 20 minutes to see Dr. Cane. The medical assistant was nice and helped with setting up for the MD. Dr. Cane did a thorough exam and did the procedure to take care of me in the office there and I was in and out in about an hour. My follow up was much shorter and he was just as pleasant once again. I would highly recommend Dr. Cane.
Description of Work: I had an ingrown toenail and went to Dr. Cane for treatement. He was very friendly and polite and walked me thru the process of the treatment. It was not a pleasant one since I had to have needles stuck in my toes but he was patient and guided me thru it well and my toe has been good since then.

Dr. Robb first taped the toes and added a support on the bottom of shoe which lessened the pain while I was waiting for surgery. I have a latex sensitivity and had to wait for appointment at hospital rather than surgical center. Surgery and recovery went well. I was in a surgical boot right away, bed rest for several days then limited activity. After 2 weeks, resumed driving and most normal activities, like shopping, etc., in surgical boot. After another month, I was back in athletic shoes and gradually built up time walking. I did have to have pins removed about 3 months later, done in office, but that healed in 2 - 3 weeks, and I'm now pain free. Very good follow up.
Description of Work: Dr. Robb Mothershedd performed an Austin Bunionectomy and I have had very good results. Now, 7 months later I am pain free and walk 30 to 45 minutes about 5 times a week. I was very pleased with the result! I have a bunion on my other foot, not as bad, and if it gets worse, I will not hesitate to return to Dr. Mothershedd.
