Gonzalez Tree Care

Mr. Gonzalez responded very promptly to our request, especially considering all the trees that had fallen in the recent windstorm. He came out on a Friday to give us an estimate. We then provided him with his Angie's List coupon. He said that we should have given that to him before he gave us the estimate. I'm not sure how that would have made a difference, except to his advantage. The price was much higher than we expected, but we were over a barrel (or over a shed, in this case), and wanted to avoid additional damage. The crew actually came out on Father's Day, bless their hearts. They did a good job, except for the clean-up. There was a lot of debris left behind.

I called and left a message for an estimate. A representative promptly called back. I described the work and we made an appointment. I texted the representative the appointment date, time and address. On the morning of the appointment, the representative was delayed and called to inform me. I appreciatedthe call. When the representative arrives, he complained about how far we lived from Raleigh, NC, even though they advertise that they service Johnston County. My husband got tired of the complaints, so he told him that he did not have to bid the job and could leave. The representative provided a bid, and my husband gave hime the 10% Angie's List coupon. The representative stated that my husband should have presented the coupon prior to getting the estimate and that the estimate was as low as he could be on the price. The representative departed. Gomzales Tree Service did not get the job.

They did a great job and clean up all the debris.

This was my first experience using someone from Angie's list. I had recently joined. On the phone call to schedule I said it was an Angie's list referral. The estimator (not Mr. Gonzalez) came on time. I wanted him to remove a small tree + the stump and two shrubs, one large and one medium sized, also a very large limb from a big tree. The whole time he was here he complained that this was a very small job and was going to be an issue getting people here, as I live on the edge of the service area. After he left, I came in and realized I had NOT presented him with the voucher for the 10% discount. I called immediately, and after no return call after two or three hours called again. At the end of the day he called and I explained the issue and said I was sorry. He again complained that the job was "small" and that it would be bad for the company if he gave me the 10%. After a long silence on my part he said he'd compromise and give me a 5% discount. I was angry at his attitude and cancelled the job-- it did not seem fair to me, although I do realize I should have shown him the coupon on site. It was on my table-- I just forgot after we walked the property and I showed him the work. I called him in a timely manner. I was disappointed and amazed at his attitude and how he tried to weasel out of the 10% discount. This was after acknowledging that "we get a lot of work through Angie's list."

They arrived on time and spoke to us first to make sure of everything that was to be done. There were approx. 5 men that arrived together. The gentleman who climbed the trees was very knowledgeable of what he was doing. They were very quick, correct and did a great job of cleaning up. We will definitely use them again for a very large, old sweet gum we need to remove this summer.

Called Mr. Gonzales for a quote on trees that needed to be removed. He said he could be there the next day at 3:pm. He did not show up, so I called him 20 mim after later to see if he would like to reschedule. He did not return my call. Too bad for him this was a $3K job.I do not recommend anyone that is not able to keep an appointment.

The workers were on time and set up immediately. I was amazed watching them working so high from the tree, that I took photos as I watched them climb to the top and gradually work their way down as they cut the tree. They were very careful and watched for neighborhood traffic. All debris was cleaned up as they raked the yard and used a blower. I have had a number of trees cut by other companies. One particular company was very good and reasonable, but when I called them again for this estimate, I was surprised by the quote.. I called Gonzalez Tree Care, and I was pleasantly surprised that their estimate was nearly $200.00 cheaper. I would highly recommend them.

They provided a good estimate and when contacted they scheduled the work withing a week. They showed up on time and did a very professional job cutting down the tree and grinding the stump. The men did not realize that the estimate also included the removal of the ground cover around the base of the tree so they had to get the bobcat back. Once the ground cover was removed it revealed more sump that needed to be worked on, which they did without question. My only disappointment were the ruts that the bobcat left in a portion of the front yard (it had rained the day before) and the thought that if I was not watching they would not have done the complete job (removing the ground cover) as estimated, but all in all I was very satisfied with the job for the price and would certainly recommend them to anyone.

Extremely well. They were very flexible with my shcedule, attentive to my needs. THe price they gave was 1100 less than a comeptitor listed o Angies list. THey had some tough trees near m house and had compelte control of the pine the whole time it came down. They were flexible wih my adddtional tree trimming request that on the day of the work. They also were flexible with my schedule when I had to cancel and re-schedule. I will use them again when I need more work done.

Very well. They arrived on time, correctly assessed how the tree would fall. Cleaned up within 1 hour. The job was done so well that the neighbors requested work done.

I contacted Gonzalez Tree Care and Jose came out to give me an estimate. All was great and the estimate was good. I also had an appointment for a concrete company to come and pour a new driveway so I needed Jose not only to remove the trees but also needed part of the driveway removed and the massive roots under the concrete ground down as well. He said no problem. On the day of the tree removal, all went smoothly. They were very good at removing the trees. However, when it came to removing the concrete and grinding out the roots, Riqui, the foreman, said they didn't have the equipment to do it and that I should pay them and then call when the concrete guys were there and they would grind the leftover stump. I was dubious - I doubted they could come out in the middle of the day at a moments notice, but Riqui assured me they could if I called the day before. I offered to call Jose, but Riqui said that wouldn't be necessary. After I gave him a check, I did call Jose and he said that shouldn't be a problem. I called Jose the night before the concrete guys were supposed to come (they had a last minute opening) and told him I needed him here at 10am. The next morning, at 9am, I called him again. He hadn't gotten my message, but said he could send someone out. Just text him when the concrete guys were 'really' ready. I told him they said they would be ready at 10am. At 10:30am, I texted him to let him know we were ready for him. He text back "Ok, I'll call Riqui". What? He hadn't even called his guy yet??? I had 5 concrete guys waiting around with nothing to do but wait for this root to be ground. By 11:30 (and still no Riqui), the concrete guys said they had to get moving or this was going to turn in to a 2-day job. So, they took their excavator and ripped the roots out with it. Pulling up a neighbor's Time Warner cables in the process, but it had to be done. By noon, still no Riqui. Riqui finally did show, but by that time, the roots had been cleared and the concrete guys were pouring. Riqui did haul away the roots. I told Jose I found this unacceptable - and he said he showed and I gave late notice but it was not his fault. I find this unacceptable. I did give him notice and was in constant contact with him. He did not fulfill his end of the bargain. In essence, I paid $1200 to remove 3 trees and nothing else. He cashed my check and that was that. I will never do business with them again - even though prior to having my job done, I referred a $5000 job to them.

Jose came over the day I called and did the job the following afternoon. What great turn around time! They all did an excellent job taking down three large pines. They cleaned up the yard and put everything back in place. I would definitely hire them in the future.

We called one Friday morning and he was able to come out and give us a quote that afternoon. They were also able to get the work done in a week after we called him. The price was very competitive with the other tree service organizations we called. I can't say enough how pleased we were with their services. The trees were all in our front yard with lots of obstacles. They were able to drop the trees in a very narrow area in order to miss our rose bushes, an arbor and another tree that we were leaving. The trees we had taken down were 6 huge pines (by the way one was very close to the house) and a gumball tree. They also were very good about cleaning up afterwards. The trees were gone by the end of the day! I've had neighbors that have trees cut down and the trees stay in the front yard for days before another crew comes to get them. Jose's crew gets the job completed in a day! He is fully insured and he is a small business owner versus tied to a large corporate entity which was a plus for us as well.

They were fabulous. They were very careful with taking down the trees. Some of them were close to the house and they took such great care. They cleanedu p after themselves. Outstanding work.

Gonzalez did an impressive job removing the four tall loblolly pines without damaging the azaleas and Japanese maple below. They also did a great job removing 3 maples, including one hanging over a 10' x 16' shed and another hanging over the neighbor's fence, again without damage. They laid down plywood to keep their skidder from impacting the lawn, but the lawn was still impacted due to the weight of the skidders, particularly when carrying 10' sections of the pines! In addition to the 7 trees contracted, they also removed a Bradford pear that was growing out of a stump and several smaller or medium-sized maples that were in the way. All wood chips were blown into the compost pile, as requested!

I called Gonzalez to have them come out and remove a large, dead tree that was beginning to become dangerous. They were prompt, precise, and did excellent work. They arrived at 7:30am and were finished by 10:30am. I was very impressed with how efficiently they worked.

After I contacted him, Mr. Gonzalez promptly replied and visited my home to scope out the job. For removal of two large trees (50 - 60 feet) and two small trees, along with grinding the stumps of the large trees and removal of the stumps for the small ones, he quoted me $650 for the job. This was a very fair, competitive price compared to other quotes I had received. It was also easy to obtain verification of his insurance coverage. His workers were very polite and efficient, and they left my yard in perfect condition. I would definitely recommend Gonzalez Tree Care to others, and I would use them again.

Jose called me back right away and came out that day to give me a quote to take down 1 very large pine tree in our yard and also gave me a quote on taking all 25 more down eventually. His quote seemed fair and I called him a couple days later to set up the appointment. They came and took down this huge tree, ground the stump and a couple other little ones and completely cleaned up in an hour. The crew consisted of 5 men who were very efficient and professional along with tons of equipment. I look forward to using their company again. Thank you Angies List for a great recommendation.

Jose Gonzales was courteous over the phone and arrived 20 minutes early for an 8:30AM appointment. He called from the street to make sure being early was ok which I thought was polite. His quote was reasonable and he scheduled the job for the following Monday. The Gonzales Tree Care crew was friendly and also arrived early. I am impressed by how efficiently they worked and cleaned up after the job. Definitely recommend.

They arrived when promised and on time. The crew reveiwed all of the work that needed to be done and began to complete very efficiently and with safety in mind not only for their crew but for the obstacles and they had to overcome here. They had to avoid the house, pool, carport shelter, etc. as the trees were in heavily used areas and were very large trees. They completed cutting down the trees that we originally requested and then assisted with changes to add additional trees to be removed at our request and to limb up another one for us. They cleaned up the areas even blowing off the driveway were trees had been removed. We are very pleased with thier work and would hire them again.

Jose came out and gave me a quote. I presented my Angie's List 10% off coupon which I don't think saved me any money. I probably should have presented it after the quote. The price was acceptable in any case and in line with what others on Angie's List have paid so I pulled the trigger. He made some vague references to maybe showing up on Monday weather permitting. He didn't say what time. The tree was at the end of my driveway and I neglected to move my car because I wasn't sure if he was showing up or not. I had a long night on Sunday and slept like a baby through his phone calls and them actually cutting the tree down. I didn't hear a thing. Later he told me that his guys had to move everything to the street which was like 100 feet from the tree because my car was parked in the middle of the driveway. I apologized and told him I would use him again. I think he may have been expecting extra compensation for that. Don't worry Jose. I will be using you again because you and your guys did a great job and didn't even wake me up!

Jose Gonzalez came out to the property at first to talk about what we needed and give an estimate. He made some suggestions to what we had already wanted, and gave us an estimate. Once we had a good date to have the work done, Jose and his colleagues came out to the house on the day, at the time we agreed upon. All work was done skillfully and professionally. The entire crew was polite and professional and very helpful. As the day progressed, the foreman Riqui and/or the owner Jose would check in and let me know where they were in the process, or ask any questions they had as they had been working. The hung tree was masterfully taken down, it was very impressively done. The guys climbed up into the tree and attached the hung tree to its support, then cut the broken length down to a manageable size. They winched it off the ground, and lowered it by the rope to the ground. They did not touch the fence and removed the tree without damaging any of the surrounding landscape. We had asked the guys to chip some of the wood, but leave a lot of it cut into lengths for landscaping, which they did, leaving us very nicely cut sections of log to use for raised bed gardens and various projects around the home. We have always been pleased with Gonzalez Tree Care and would not have anyone else work on our trees. We've had a couple trees come down over the past year and Gonzalez is always who we call when we need tree care.

Gonzalez Tree Care came when expected, worked efficiently, removed all the debris as expected, did an overall good job, and charged the estimated amount.
