+ -1 moreMy A/C stopped cooling in the summer. I found the service company because of a high customer rating. But it turned out to be a nightmare. Day 1, there was a misdiagnosis by the first technician. He replaced a thermostatic expansion valve (cost $400 here) , of course, did not fix the A/C. I had to call him back. The real problem was identified: leaking coil. Day 2, I was waiting. waiting, waiting. I was then told they were not able to find a technician for me. Day 3: another technician went and replaced the coil ($1500). People: be aware of the service company. A lesson I learned: do not trust the rating too much.

+ -1 moreHe replaced it right then and there. It didn't turn out to be a major thing. I didn't know what to expect after that many years. He seemed to be very honest. He was in and out. They came in a timely manner and everything so far has been good. He also suggested our filters be changed which we knew.
Description of Work: He did a diagnostic review of the problem with the A/C not getting cool. He found the part that was bad.

+ -1 moreSteve was considerate, friendly and professional. He couldn't fix it the first day because it had so much ice on it. He arranged with his office to come back the next day after the ice had melted. He did come the next day and spent considerable time getting it to run. He suspected the piston was a bit clogged and he would have to clean it out. This was about 6:00pm on a Friday night and he had three more appointments after us. I paid him $99. He said we could use the A/C normally over the weekend and he'd come back Monday. He brought Jim with him Monday and they worked over an hour replacing the piston. He explained we didn't owe him any more money! Everyone I talked to was pleasant and gave me a feeling that I was important to them.
Description of Work: Steve came three separate days checking and testing our A/C. This last time he replaced a small piston that had the wrong sized hole in it. He replaced it with the correct one, equalizing the pressure on both sides. An unequal pressure had caused it to ice-up twice. Replacing the piston didn't result in a charge since it was covered under the warrantee.

Description of Work: Installed a new HVAC system for a house addition. Unit ordered was a Goodman. What was installed was a Coleman. Shortly after install, Raleigh Services realized their mistake, removed the Coleman and replaced it with the unit ordered at no charge.

Description of Work: Replaced gas pac. Their representative measured the area that was being serviced by the existing unit and recommended a slightly larger unit. He checked the duct system under the house and found that some of the ducts needed to be replaced/rerouted. The work was done the next day, as promised, and there is a great difference in the air flow in the one room that was not heated adequately. I am happy. A competitor, who did not measure the volume or look at all the rooms, stated that he could tell from experience that the unit was the right size, quoted essentially the same price for a smaller unit, same size as the original, and stated that the ducts were fine after we specifically asked him to look at the ducts. He was not about to do it on his own. |

Description of Work: Fixed a leaky PVC exhaust pipe in crawl space. This is a new house so it is still under warranty so there was no charge. They performed the work and there were no problems.
