Brian is a quality craftsperson. Repairs were made quickly and effectively -- I cannot tell where the dent was! Brian was friendly and punctual. Will definitely call him again and recommend him to my friends.
Description of Work: A chest of drawers had two problems: a leg broke off and something crashed into the top leaving a sizable dent.

It went well. actual time to refinish was 17 days, but he said it could take 14 days. He advised me that the $99.00 for $200.00 special was not the final price as my table normally would cost $325.00 so my cost to refinish was actually going to cost another $125.00, but that was acceptable to me as I knew refinishing the table could not be done for $99.00.

My Pennsylvania House cherry dining table was badly scratched when a visting dog jumped on it. I thought it was not repairable. Brian came and said it was repairable - but it would not be cheap. He explained thoroughly about what he would do and where the difficulty was in the process. And the time consuming process. When I asked if he could completely get rid of the very deep scratched (which I found doubtful) - he said "Oh Yes. It just will not be cheap." He warned me that he would have it for a while - and he did. But no longer than he informed me. Well the amazing work he did was VERY reasonable for the price. The table looked BETTER than when I bought it!. I am extremely extremely pleased. If you want beautiful work, clear informative explaination, accurate time commitment - Brian is a gem. And I am very happy to give references. D Griffin
Description of Work: Assessed table damage for refinishing. Refinished table top and leaves. Returned it and reassemble. Stunned customer with excellent quality and reasonable price.

We could not be happier with how our table turned out. Brian suggested painting the legs of the table black to match the chairs, and it looks fantastic. He indicated it would take 3-5 weeks, and we got it back in less than 3 weeks. Then when he delivered the table (on a Saturday no less), he touched up the chairs while he was here. Unscheduled, and spur of the moment. Quality work, at a reasonable price and extremely professional! We have already sent another piece back with him.
Description of Work: We had an old beat up cherry table and Hitchcock chairs that needed to be brought back to life. The table had a bad burn mark, and decades of cigarette smoke staining. We sent the table in to be refinished.

Everything went well, and quickly, from start to finish. No problems at all.
Description of Work: The total cost was $425, but because of my $200 voucher (bought for $99) I spent an additional $225. The job was to refinish an antique walnut table top with 4 leaves. It was badly and deeply scratched. The work was done very quickly and the table was beautifully refinished. You'd never know it had ever been damaged.

Before I bought the Big Deal, I called Carolina Furniture Restoration and asked them to estimate how much it would cost to paint a small kitchen table (about 3' x 4'), and four chairs. The person that answered didn't know, so she spoke with Brian and later sent me an email. I was quoted $225 "for this project." I scheduled a time for Brian to come out, and he informed me that the $225 was for the table only, not the chairs. To paint the chairs would cost an additional $300 (4 chairs @ $75/ea). I told him I wasn't happy with this miscommunication, and he offered to refund the money I spent on the Big Deal. I decided to go with the refund, since I couldn't justify spending close to $600 on having a table and four chairs painted.
Description of Work: I bought the Big Deal for $99 towards $200 for furniture restoration. No services were performed.

This job went very well and I'm delighted with the results. It was an excellent value and the quality of the work was exceptional. I'd have no hesitation using Brian again for other projects.
Description of Work: I had severe cat scratches on two leather couches. The couches were also honey-colored which made them very difficult to work on and to match with a restorative wax. Brian from Carolina Furniture Restoration painstakingly worked on the couches for several hours and brought them back to life! I was amazed at his work and would definitely use him again and refer him to others.

They were very polite. They did quality work. The one issue I had with them is, I was having them match a stain that had already been done. It was a partially refinished set and I was having them finish it, and initially they were not even close. They had a piece with them that had been done and I could not understand why they did not match it. They redid everything though and did a fantastic job in matching it. They did not give me a hard time about it.

Brian called me back the same day of the email. We set up a consult a few days later (today). He came over, assessed the chair, and performed the repair on the spot. The chair looks much improved!!! Thanks, Brian!
Description of Work: I had a new dining room set delivered a month ago that I signed off as being in good condition on delivery. A few weeks later, I notice a large scratch in the seat of one of the chairs. I did not notice it when we inspected on delivery, but at certain angles, it turned out to be very prominent. The store where I bought it was uncooperative, as I had signed off on the condition on delivery. And I didn't buy their warranty. I emailed Brian at Carolina Furniture to help figure out what to do.

Business was in the middle of a relocation when I dropped off the 2 items. As a result of this relocation, the work took longer than earlier work Carolina Furniture Restoration had completed for me (but I understood the risk and situation). The work was performed at their shop in Morrisville. I was pleased with the way the walnut table turned out and my wife loved the footlocker (which was critical).

I sent the owner Brian Etchells pictures of the baby cradle via email in early November. Brian promptly gave me an estimate. I delivered the cradle to him and picked it up to save on the cost of the project since the cradle was to be a Christmas gift to my mom. Brian seemed to take a genuine interest in the project and did a wonderful job. He repaired the cradle bed and one of the rockers as well as remove two coats of paint and replace them with a natural stain. I am sure Brian put many hours into this project, and I so thank him for his diligence and attention to detail. My mom and I loved the results! He completed the baby cradle in early December as promised.

I had a wonderful experience with Carolina Restoration. I had two pieces of furniture that my grandfather had made that were in bad shape - a leather ottoman and a wooden hope chest. After emailing to schedule an appointment for pickup, Brian came right out and picked the items up quickly. He gave me an estimate on the amount of work which was to have the ottoman recovered in recycled leather and to have the hope chest sanded down & stained. The work took longer than estimated but that was fine with us since we were moving to a new house during this time. Brian brought the furniture to our new house and I was highly impressed with the work. The ottoman had the same integrity as when my grandfather made it yet looked much better. The hope chest was incredible - the grain of the wood was shining and the odd smell inside the chest was gone. I would definitely use Brian and his team again.

Dropped the loveseat off at his old shop in Clayton and picked up an upholstery sample book. Picked out the upholstery a week later. He had problems finding a match for some inlay materials, because of the age of the piece. The material he ended up using is a very good match to the original. Brian and his people did an excellent job. My wife and I were very impressed with the quality of the work. It is now a showpiece in our living room. It did take quite a while, but he was in the middle of moving his shop at the time.
Description of Work: Restored an antique loveseat. Retied the springs, replaced webbing, re-upholstered the seating and back area, cleaned the wood, replaced trim and varnished the entire thing.

We are very happy with the results of the restoration. Brian was able to bring back many details in the pieces that we didn't know were there and fixed all the damage ... some of which I'm still surprised he was able to do. I would highly recommend Brian, excellent work and customer service.

I used an Angie's List Big Deal for $100 for $250 worth of work, I called the company a month or so later and they were in the middle of moving locations but were still very prompt. The door looks great, had to revisit due to bubble in the door but that was due to the late day sun and they corrected the issue for no additional cost.
