Crew was in an out without any issues and handled everything in a very professional manner. This was my second time using TLC and it won't be my last.

First - John was a real pleasure to work with. Prompt, professional and easy to talk to. I really didn't have a definite plan and he listened to me, looked at the photos I showed him of things I liked and came back with a plan. The finished product is amazing! He put real stones not the prefab ledge stones and they are beautiful. They look like they have always been there and blend perfectly with the landscape. The level of detail - matching, sizing and color...I could not have asked for more. He even took this level of detail down to the walking path I asked him to install. The place looks like a beautiful cottage right out of Better Homes & Garden which is exactly the look I was asking for. I would definitely use TLC again and have passed along his name to several of my friends who have admired the work he did for me.

I am extremely impressed and happy with Johns creation. He finished the retaining wall in 2weeks. He is extremely professional and worked with us to create what we had in mind. John also checked with us several times during the process to make sure it was exactly what we expected. He is honest, never took any short cuts and made sure everything was done as it should. John has a great work ethic and his pricing is perfect. We will be contracting John to complete each phase of our project. I highly recommend TLC. e

This project could not have gone better. John is very knowledgeable and we are very pleased with the plants he suggested we use for the new landscaping. The removal of the old trees, shrubs and undergrowth went very smoothly even though it was not an easy task given the slope of our lot. Everything we requested was done to our satisfaction. John and everyone working with him is hard working, thorough and respectful. Although I contacted several companies to do this job, John is the only one who called me back. He has been great to work with and we will definitely call him when we are ready to do our next project.

Update: The owner did call and explained that the proposal was misplaced and apologized for the delayed response. His bid was within reason but is more than I wanted to spend. I have update to a grade of B as I do understand these things do happen. I had to call twice to get a response. He met me one afternoon to discuss putting pavers over my concrete slab patio and removing all the current landscaping (shrubs, white rocks, pavers ect). He took notes during the conversation but it has been 2 weeks with no response. I understand it is not a huge job but since he didn't say it was too small at the time I expected a response.

The job went very well. We knew what we wanted but because TLC does this type work all the time they were able to make some suggestion regarding the type of retaining wall blocks and pavers that made a big difference in a good way. They also suggested the accent light that really sets off the patio at night. I am a pretty detailed person myself so I was very impressed by John's attention to detail and his desire to make sure that my wife and I were pleased with the work they were doing. TLC's price was not the highest or the lowest but it was a good price. I don't always like the lowest price anyway because you get what you pay for. . I usually go with the price and the way I feel about the people that I talk to before they do the work. I have found that works the best. It worked this time as well. If we do anymore landscaping work around our house TLC will be the company we call. I highly recommend their work.

Some of the shrubs are growing ok. Others have not grown at all. Finally did work after delaying it several times.

John, the owner of TLC, is a rare contractor for the Charlotte area. He is personable, professional, ethical, highly competent, and responsive. He goes above and beyond in finding solutions to problems, in doing the work himself and in supervising his employees with an educator's attitude. He truly listens to the customer, asks for additional input periodically, and thinks "outside the box" to deliver excellent work with a reasonable price tag. While TLC was not the lowest cost contractor that we interviewed, he was very competitive given the excellent quality of his work. Simply put, it has been a pleasure to work with John and the TLC team.

Bought a Angie's List deal from this company. No problems, no complaints. Owner responded to my purchase order and my scheduling call promptly. Work crew called first, was punctual and professional and did a fine job.

This company did a great job in staying in touch with us throughout the process. Pine needles were good as expected and staff that delivered were friendly and professional. We would contact them again for pine needles in the future.

All went very well. I was contacted within a day of my purchase, and delivery was made on a day I had requested. The 3 men arrived on time and did the job beautifully. They did use an extra 2 bales of mulch (pine straw) for a small additional charge, but I am very pleased with the job that was done and the entire process.

They were nice and responsive, but they told me that my job was too small and that they didn't want to take on the work.

It went very well. Completed the trimming afternoon arrived. Needed another part to repair the sprinkler came back the next day to repair. Would definely use TLC again.

It went great! It took a while for John to get to us because of his busy schedule but we have no regrets that we waited. He was knowledgeable on how to correct the water problem and the work on the wall and patio look wonderful! My husband can sometimes be hard to please but he was very very please with the work. We went over the estimate but that was because of the changes we made and er were OK with that. If I have another project I would not hesitate to call TLC again. Thanks John.

It's hard to find people like John who holds very high standard for quality of work and also provides a competitive price. He is very knowledgeable, honest, and professional! His crew worked very hard in the hot weather and they seemed to take pride in their work. We are going to contract them for our next project - transplanting old trees and planting new trees. I just can say enough good things about this company and would highly recommend them for landscaping projects!

While their responsiveness was slow they were fine to work with and communication was also fine. By the time they got here, a lot of the ice had melted and what was left was difficult to remove.

They came when they were supposed to. They did a great job and I would recommend them. They were professional. They told us what they were going to do and that’s what they did. Yes, we would use them again but I hope we don’t need to.

Everything went to plan and to cost. One year on, the patio looks terrific and the new backyard is also a joy. The quality of workmanship and the attention to detail is evident. TLC did everything we wanted and in a timely fashion. They are a great company to work with, and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Delivered everything as promised.

I contacted John and he was pretty responsive. I sent some pictures of my yard and told him what I was looking for. One Saturday while I was out, he just showed up at my house and was snooping around (NOT OK), and I didn't like that so I came back home to meet him and discuss our needs. I also told him that it would be best if it could be a Saturday so we could supervise where the plants went and he confirmed that he would have to check with his guys by he didn't think it would be a problem. I knew that he was going to give me a quote on some additional plants, but the quote he gave me included labor (even though I had already paid for 8 hours of labor). This startled me and I told him so and he asked what I would like to do about it. I told him why don't I pay for the material and then after you hit 8 hours we can decide whether to pay you for any extra labor or if it was stuff I could do. I didn't hear back from him so I sent a follow up e-mail and asked if we could go ahead and schedule something and he said no Saturdays and actually, that he would only honor the deal on Thursdays or Fridays. Well that was unsatisfactory to me. He tried to add in extra costs hoping I wouldn't notice. He was unresponsive when he didn't get his way. He showed up at my house unannounced and started walking over my property. He reeked of cigarettes and had been smoking on my property, the same property where my wife is asthmatic and I have an infant son. He did not seem knowledgeable about plants. It was not a good fit. We don't need someone to be at our beck and call, but we do need someone who knows what they are doing and can work with our schedules.
