and I lived in the residence for 1 year and in that time we had some
major issues come up. The first issue was the air conditioners. During
the summer of 2012 the A/C stopped working and we were told that it
wasn't seen as an emergency and someone would be sent out when possible.
I was not happy with this answer as I am married and have 4 kids (1
being a toddler). For the first time with this issue we had to spend the
entire weekend without A/C and I had to go buy 3 fans to attempt to
keep my family cool. I then proceeded to tell them the following monday
that we would be leaving and to send someone in and that we would be at a
hotel. They got someone out the same day. Strike 2 came when the
problem arose again. It seemed as if the had a problem with the
repairman that showed up and he even complained about some issues with
the house. The A/C stopped again and we were back in the same boat.
Normally I am ok and can deal with A/C issues as I understand how it can
be during the summer months. Strike 3 came with rose bushes. Now to be
fair I had no knowledge as to what type of plants they were and that
they grew back. When we moved in the plants appeared to be dead. They
were a real eye sore and even one neighbor was happy we removed them.
About a week later we were called and told it was a problem that we
removed the roses. At that time I said well what needs to be done to
rectify the issue as this was not done to be malicious. Response was let
us contact the homeowner. I waited a few days and called back only to
be told that they had no information. Time goes on and my wife calls
back. Still no information has been given after numerous complaints on
how to fix this issue. During our mid year inspection we talked about
the roses again but no COA (Course of action) was given to fix the
problem. Moving forward to the move out inspection. We had a company
come in and clean and they were there from 10 am until 8 pm. They earned
every penny for there work. Granted there were some issues but I was
not upset. During the debrief I am told that it will cost $659 to
replace the roses and various other items that were damaged in the
flower bed. I was shown an email by Ricky dated July 27th that told had
the itemized list of what needed to be done. Needless to say this made
me very upset because several times we asked for this list and got
squat. We wanted to have a happy homeowner and in no way disrespect her
home and were left with nothing until the end. The inspection was
riddled with issues. Ricky I must admit was a true professional. However
some practices I just don't get. We were looked at to repaint or do
touch ups (something I have never done on move outs). Also we were told
we would have to remove anchors from the walls from where we hung
curtains. All in all I was very peed off. I did not like the main issue
with the rose bushes as I was told we were not allowed to alter the
property. I must be ignorant because I did not think altering the
residence including removing what I thought was dead plants. On the
other hand I was permitted to remove dead plants from the back yard
garden that were dead. Overall I am just not happy with them.
"We are very sorry this tenant feels that they did not receive the customer service that they expected. We believe our staff and our company went above and beyond to get this tenants A/C Unit repaired in a timely manner, repairing other items that were reported by the tenant as well as updating the tenant on their responsibilty for the alterations made by them to the property. (removal of rose and jasmine bushes) Our office was notified in May that the tenants had removed 15 rose and jasmine bushes from the front and side of the home. The lease agreement clearly states that the tenant is not to make any alterations to the property without written permission. We contacted the tenant in May, June and July to let them know that they would be responsible to have the rose and jasmine bushes replanted or they would be charged when they vacated the home. We left several messages with them as well as talking to them in person when they paid their rent in May. When the tenant vacated the home there were several items that were damaged and not corrected. Our office will have no choice but to correct the damages and replant the rose and jasmine bushes that the tenant failed to have done. Our hope is that in the future this tenant reads and understands their responsiblity as a tenant."
Then I found out her and the tenants husband got into an argument because Sherry said he had to mow the grass. The tenant said that Sherri was rude to his wife on the phone about a conversation they had. An inspector was also supposed to go check out the house and that wasn't done the first time. He finally went out there and said the front had been mowed, but not the back. I kept having to call back to see what was going on. She has only called me once in a week and a half.
I finally informed her I was unhappy with the service and wanted to terminate my agreement. The broker said she would terminate our agreement and we would be done, but to send her an email. I told her I needed her signature. I know there is a form that has to be filled out and she said that an email is sufficient. She then emailed me the form and asked me to sign it and then she would. She is a broker and she should know all of this. She would not give me any of my tenants information.
I found them on the BBB and there are so many complaints on them, similar to mine. I have had some billing issues with this company as well, regarding the tenants payments. I am now facing foreclosure on the house because I cannot get the payments from her. She is very unprofessional and will not call back. She keeps saying I am getting everything in the mail, but am not sure if I will actually get it. It has been a nightmare. My friend has mentioned to me as well that she has heard nothing good about this company either. My new management company will be going by to notify the tenants not to pay Century 21 the rent.
