VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WORK!!!

Sent his son, who came two hours late. He worked for an hour and a half and then took an hour lunch. After he came back, he worked for 10 minutes and then it started to rain so he left. He came back the next day again almost two hours late and worked about 3 hours. He left the yard not cleaned up. He had left over 20 stumps, large and small and also had cut large roots on healthy trees that are now in danger of falling. I called the owner, his father, about what happened and he hung up on me and also refused to come out to even look at the stumps. I've contacted the BBB and also sent them pictures. He is not a member of the BBB and he refused to mediate.

I should have read Angie's list earlier. Firewood was short cut, dirty, wet with white rot. I should have inspected load before letting Mr. Erickson himself dump it. It also contained easily 100lbs of dirt and asphalt chunks I had to shovel from my driveway. I later expressed disappointment and he offered to make it up, to my surprise. Turns out he did this same 'make up' for the fellow who
bought wood in January 2013 and said it looked like it was intended for the large fireplaces at The Grove Park Inn. That fellow had the same problem and complaint as I did. Irregular cuts from and lt;5 inches to longer than 24 inches with the majority being under the promised 16 inches. And Mr. Erickson's 'make up' for me was only marginally better than the original load and included still
more short cuts than not. I still do not have a full cord of wood. Mr. Erickson was surly and said he'd had 'customers like me before' (I guess he realized he'd disappointed others too and didn't care, in fact attempted to make me feel bad for complaining about his short-changing me.) He got angry, climbed in his truck and tossed the rest of the load in my driveway then drove off in a huff without a word only to call me minutes later and ask me never to call him again. Professional? No. Childish? Yes. This has been one of the most disappointing and disturbing experiences I've ever had with any businessman. The wood he touts as firewood looks to be left over cuttings from his tree service and while it is hardwood, it is often not split, is often wet and has lots of smelly white rot. It is obvious it is not cut and stored but just piled up in his business yard then loaded with a skid steer (his own admission) into a dump truck and foisted off on the customer. The good pieces generally average 8-12 inches not the 16 inches Mr. Erickson promised. Don't call you again Mr. Erickson? You can count on that Mr. Erickson. Why would I order lousy wood and then be treated to this man’s sour scowl? Run away, run away from this guy. If there was a way to give this man less than
one star I would. He doesn’t deserve a star, just the same raspberry he gives his firewood customers. Caveat emptor.

We are a returning customer and Mr. Erickson and his crew continue to provide exceptional service from start to finish. He and his men are polite and courteous and are experts at what they do. Their clean-up is so thorough that the yard looks better than before they came. We do not hesitate to recommend them to anyone reading this list.

They showd up on time. Showed professionalism. They removed all debris and cleaned decks and roof. One limb landed in neighbors yard and left two large holes, and one old dogwood broke and was leaning on fence. Went over several times on who was responsible for the dogwood. They came back next day and repaired holes and removed dead dogwood tree.

I was glad that the service was quick but I was very disappointed with the quality of the product, which I expressed when he delivered the wood. It was all hardwood, but for the price should have been all oak in my opinion. He tried to make amends by delivering extra wood. Further inspection during stacking (I had to do), I found the wood was poor quality cut and split in sizes ranging from 4 inches long to 36 inches long and most was split as if it was going to be used in the huge fireplaces of Biltmore or the Grove Park Inn. I had to split half the load. To top it off, almost all of the wood has white rot. Not only does white rot decrease the BTUs and increase the moisture content of the firewood but you cannot have any left over and burn it the next year.
