Warning!!! WARNING!! READ before you make a hiring decision. I hired this company on Friday, September 27. The hurricane dropped two of our huge oak trees. One was on the ground the other one was leaning against another Oak. Mr. Wayne Philbeck quoted $2,500 to cut down the leaning tree and remove it, he quoted $3,000 to remove the oak that was already on the ground and remove both root balls, and debris limbs, see attached invoice. His former employee only chain sawed and dropped the tree, no climbing necessary. They were at my house for a very short time. On receipt in my photos you will see he agreed to return back to remove everything. He called me Sunday, September 29 and told me he would be back on Tuesday, October 1 at 8:00 am. NOPE, he never returned and cashed my $5,500 check on Monday, September 29th. "Think about that" Read it again out loud! I have filled a report with the York Sherriff Department. I'll be going to the Magistrate in both NC and SC soon. My insurance company is gong to sue him, they have already started the process. Be aware, go read his Yelp and Angie List Reviews!!! Several other people have experience the same thing I have. Mr. Wayne Philbeck took my money and never came back!!! Mr. Wayne Philbeck had the nerve to tell me he NEVER had a contract with me. I guess Mr. Philbeck doesn't realize his signature, agreement he wrote out and receipt is the contract! Please see my pictures and signed invoice with is signature saying he would come back! He has all my money, I sure hope he don't spend it because it will be back to me when the courts make him reimburse me for every penny and then some! I ended up calling a Reputable company that charged me $5,900 to complete the job Mr. Wayne Philbeck failed to complete. AGAIN, let me remind you... Mr. Philbeck kept my $5,500 dollars! The Reputable company wrote a statement about how County Tree Services dropped tree and how it was left, I will use it in Court! Go to YELP and Angie read his reviews! This is an honest review, please see my invoice attached in pictures. Luckily, I recorded his employee cut the tree down.

The tree was quickly removed from my house, it probably took only 1 1/2 hours.
The yard was cleaned up reasonably from all the branches.
The service picked up some tree limbs of my tree that fell on neighbor's yard when they didn't have too.
The front loader dug up my sidewalk blocks, but there was nothing else to provide a solid platform to pick up the huge tree parts from. My lawn is going to have to be repaired, but i don't think that could be avoided.
The tarp installation was not correct, roof continued to leak.
2nd installation of new tarp leaked as well. I appreciated that the guys came out on a Sunday evening to do the job, which I appreciated, but it still leaked and was not properly installed.
The insurance company said that for $500 - and the size of my house, it should cover the entire roof not just two areas.
The owner of the service disagreed, and said he would talk to the guys who installed the tarp.
The overall tree removal service was timely and reasonably done. Responsiveness to 1st tarp leaking was immediate and attempted a fix.
The argument on whether the tarp was correctly installed, when it obviously was not, was unprofessional, and has colored the whole experience.
It is clear that tree removal pricing is extremely variable, depending on whether or not comparative estimates can be obtained.
