I'd give an A- or B+ if I could. Vent was cleaned out as advertised. There was extra charge for going up on roof which was not advertised. Had some issues with scheduling. The fist appt. was cancelled due to weather. He showed up on wrong day on next try(he admitted his mistake). Also was slow or did not reply to emails but quick to reply to phone messages.

They did a good job and I'm satisfied with them.

Michael did a great job. I am scheduling more of his services next month. Give him a try. I believe you will be very happy.

It was fine. I didn't actually meet them but they knew how to do the pool deck without getting dirt into the water which was not true with the last people I had.

He cleaned them very well and left no mess at all. The original date for the service didn't work because of snow, but then I did have to contact him after several days passed without hearing from him with a new date for the service; but then he performed the service quickly thereafter.

I purchased 3 Angie's List deals at once, and scheduled them all for the same day. This one was the most cumbersome to schedule. The other companies messaged me promptly confirming my requested date and time of service. This one took several back-and-forths to schedule. Despite them having my address from my order, I had to provide it again before they would schedule an appointment. After providing the requested information, several days passed without hearing from them, so I messaged them again and they apologized for the delay. He said he was very busy rescheduling a lot of appointments due to the winter weather we'd recently had. At that time I received a confirmation message stating that my appointment would be in the morning as I'd requested. The other two companies I'd scheduled that day arrived at 8am and 9am, and I was left tapping my toes for the last appointment. At 11:45, I still had not heard from him so I called. He said he did have me on the calendar, but had not marked my time preference. He apologized and took responsibility for that, which I appreciated, but I was still left waiting around longer than I'd planned. He arrived around 1:15. My dryer vent is on the roof so I knew that would be an additional $25 beyond the $49 cleaning I'd purchased on Angie's List. He asked me to turn on my dryer and then that was the last I heard of him for a bit. I heard some drilling sounds and went outside. He was on the roof cleaning the vent while he was talking on his cell phone. When he saw me he stopped and explained that he was almost done. I went back inside and shortly thereafter he came to the front door to say he was finished. I asked if he would clean the exhaust hose that comes out the back of the dryer. This was something I'd expected would be part of the service, but I guess it's not normally. He said I could just vacuum it out and that it would be very easy to do myself. I told him I was uncomfortable disconnecting the hose for fear of not being able to hook it back up correctly, so he consented to come inside and take care of it for me at no extra charge, which I appreciated. I haven't done a load of laundry yet since this service was done, but I'm looking forward to it taking a lot less time to dry!

I had some issues with my email and was not able to contact the vendor initially. But things got resolved. Great service. They took care of all outside area and deck. I am very happy with how things worked out.

I wasn't home, but the gutters look great. This is my second time using them through the Angie's List deal and I'm considering having them automatically come clean the gutters twice a year so I don't have to think about it anymore.

Did an excellent job in cleaning dryer vent. I was amazed to see how much lint buildup (17 years worth) there was in my dryer vent. Michael was knowledgeable and very professional. Will call on him again in the future.

Never called me back to schedule service after multiple attempts to contact. I had purchased an $86 gutter cleaning special through Angie's List. Ended up calling Angie's List to cancel purchase because Oak City Home Services never called me back.

Overall they did a good job. It required going on the roof and the provider did show much of what was removed. The Dryer is now working much better. The only draw back is this provider was not good about responding to my wife's emails. It took several attempts to get the appointment scheduled and also took several attempts to get confirmation.

He did a nice job and I will use him again.

It took them 7-10 days for them to call me after I left them a message. They were a no call no show. I had taken the morning off of work to meet them which was frustrating. I contacted him and he called me back and said he was scheduled for the next day. I felt like he was very defensive and did not take responsibility for confirming the appointment. I knew I was out town that day so I don't believe I would have scheduled that day. They were unprofessional.

Outstanding job! Michael called me to let me know that he was on the way, got there earlier than even planned and immediately went to work. We had just completed a huge home remodel project and the pebble surface driveways were a mess, from all of the sheetrock dust, paint imbedded, rust, and just about anything else you can imagine. I had to leave and when I got back the next day, i could not believe how good it looked, brand new! The price was exactly what he quoted with no surprises. I will definitely recommend Oak City to my own customers in the future. Great work!

They arrived early, but notified me before they arrived. The crew was very courteous, and removed all leaves from gutters as well as rinsed out the smaller items.

AMAZING!! Michael did an amazing job on our dirty windows. My husband and I didn't know how pretty it was outside (no, really, honest, we're drooling now when we look out the windows!). I purchased a "Big Deal" with Angie's List for Oak City Home Services to clean my gutters on December 3, 2015. Today is January 26, 2016. I have contacted the owner at least three times to try to schedule the cleaning, to no avail. The last time I contacted him was two days ago, by email. I asked him if he was still interested in doing the job. I asked him to phone me and get my job done right away. Here is his complete email reply (the ellipsis is his, not mine): "Wasn't this completed already? For some reason I have it marked as completed, sounds like that was a mistake... Obviously the job cannot be completed "right away". We will have to wait until the ice clears before resuming any services. I will put you at the top of our list, and get let [sic] you know as soon as we can schedule." Granted that we still have the remains of a winter storm hanging around, people have been out and about since yesterday. And there have been plenty of times since December 3 that he could have gotten the job done. As his email demonstrates, this business doesn't keep accurate records, fails to be responsible for that, and fails to apologize for that. They have trouble with scheduling. This is the second time he has put me "at the top of his list." And "Obviously"? Really? It may have been forty years since I graduated Phi Beta Kappa, but I am still smart enough to know when I am being patronized. Meanwhile, my gutters are still full of leaves. According to Angie's List, this business has had my money since early December. That is seven weeks ago. Angie's List has agreed to refund my money. They have arranged to have another company clean my gutters. Angie's List: A. Oak City Home Services: F.

As I have been unable to receive any response to any of my contact attempts to get the service I paid for returned, I simply cannot recommend this company for anyone who expects good customer service. I have requested a refund and will find a company more able to properly contact their customers.
