Quite pleased that they discovered rotten wood in crawl space due to gutter splashback over years. Replace rotten wood carefully and prepped for tile. Another crew meticulously installed tile (quartzite, I think) that we had purchased from Tile Shop. Both crews were quite sensitive to keeping dust at a minimum and taking extra time to get the pattern right on the tile.
Description of Work: Repaired rotten joists and wood floor decking; installed hard surface tile in sunroom.

Wonderful experience. Russ Moncure took care of everything from talking to the insurance company to being there when the adjuster came out and even came back out after the job was done to make sure everything looked good. Had some issues with the roofers damaging lights, bushes and plants around the home as well as some gutters. Russ was notified and then notified the business owners who then allowed me to pay less on my deductible to offset the cost of replacing those items. Very easy company to work with and again a wonderful experience and they did a fantastic job.
Description of Work: Had the roof replaced on my home.

The first contact with this company was with a man named Tom Coleman and it went great. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed his professionalism. After that is became a waiting game. Our insurance adjuster came to visit with the Total Service professional the first time - but they (Total Service) forgot the ladder they said they'd bring - so it had to be rescheduled. Once the claim was filed - everything was set up. Total service set up a window for the job to be done. The day it was supposed to be done - I called b/c there was no movement. So and so had to call so and so to figure out what was going on. They called back and apologized for not being there and set another date. That date got rained out. They finally arrived on Saturday the 6th, a week after their designated date, and did the work. We left to run some errands and when we came back the work was done and we were fairly happy - except for finding nails on the grass and in our flower bed. They were minimal - but we still seem to find them on a weekly basis. The next part is hard to describe - but we noticed in several places that where the roof met the siding on the house, our hardboard had been torn to shreds. This left a ton of exposed ends of the hardboard which was potentially damaging and outright ugly. I made a call at the end of November to Total Service to ask if this was something that they would deal with, they said yes. They called a week or so later to ask if they could pick up their money and I said "No, you still have to fix my roof". Long story short - the roof did not get repaired until the end of January. The claim was weather - but it just seemed like a lack of communication. I know it wasn't lack of care because I still had their money. It finally got fixed, but I had to nag to get it done. I appreciate the help that Total Service was in getting my claim filed. So far the roof itself looks like quality materials and workmanship and I would like to thank Tom Gaddy and his crew for finally repairing and repainting the damaged hardboard.

This roofing company approached neighbors about a recent hail storm and said they would coordinate with insurance company to submit a claim for a new roof. Was told it was a "no fault" claim, so it seemed like a no-brainer. I've learned since (from my father-in-law, insurance agent for 40 years) that even so, it is a negative reflection just due to the fact that you filed the claim at all. I wish I'd known that. Anyway, Calvin said he'd meet the adjuster to look at the roof together. The adjuster came sooner than expected and Calvin was on another roof and couldn't get there. He called and explained, and I don't blame him for not making it. He did ask that I "reschedule" with the adjuster to come back another day. I told him out of respect for the adjuster's time, I wasn't going to do this. He pushed me a few times and said "they do this all the time." The adjuster and two other guys were at my house within minutes, and I went ahead and let them proceed. They were very professional and showed me everything. Obviously it's in the roofer's interest to be there and try to influence the outcome, at least to the extent possible. This isn't usually how I do business so I probably wouldn't contact them again.
Description of Work: Coordination with my insurance company to have adjuster look at roof for hail damage. Company contacted Allstate directly on my behalf after I okay'd it.

The team was professional and did a very thorough job. When we hit a rainy period, the painters explained why they wouldn't paint until the wood was completely dry.It might have taken a little longer to get the painting done, but it was done correctly and professionally The team did a great job on repairing the wood around some of the windows. I feel sure the job will delay our need to replace the windows. The roofing portion of the job was done in just a day, and they did a good job cleaning up after they finished.
Description of Work: Replaced roof on two-story home, repaired wood around windows, painted outside trim around windows and doors, painted screened porch inside and out, and stained screened porch floor.
A plumbing leak occurred in a copper pipe located in an upstairs wall of my house. Water was leaking into the wall and had wet the ceiling, paneling and carpet of the room downstairs directly below the leak. I turned off the water at the main shutoff. I then reported the leak and damage to my homeowner's insurance and was given the name of Total Service Company as an option for repairs. When I told the owner, Mr. Brock, that I had shut off the water and we had no water for the house, he sent help immediately to repair the plumbing and restore our water supply. Total Service Company also handled the entire repairs, from repairing and respraying the damaged textured ceiling and removing and reinstalling wall paneling, to having the carpet dried and cleaned and a section of the carpet pad replaced. All work was carried out promptly and courteously. I would use this company again.
Description of Work: Total Service Company repaired a plumbing leak inside an upstairs wall of my home, as well as repairing damage to the wall, ceiling, paneling and carpet of the room downstairs directly below the leak.
