The agreed upon work went well. He identified the issue. Overall rating of D was because I don't feel as though he acted professionally after identifying the issue. The issue was a faulty start capacitor. Rather than asking me if I wanted him to replace it, he did the work and called me afterward. When he called me, I felt he was intentionally vague in explanation of the work performed as he said he replaced the "starter component", not wanting to say the word "capacitor" as this is a fairly easy fix. I asked him what that part did, he explained and I said that sounds a lot like a capacitor. After telling me how he was a discount on the competitor he explained thats what he calls it because there is more than one capacitor. But he could have just said it was the "start capacitor" as opposed to "run capacitor". I asked him the price of the part to try to get an idea of his labor costs and I think he exaggerated. He told me he worked for 40% less than other companies which I believe to be true because many other companies charge a high rate due to low supply of quality techs in our market to match demand. Then he said he works cheaper than anyone that isn't working out of their garage. I said "What does he matter if someone works out of their garage if they know what they're doing and have the tools - you work out in the field at the customers house". After that he said he works out of his garage. (Which I think is a good thing - less overhead and he can pass on the discount). The price was fair. I consider fair to be working out to $75 an hour including charging for travel time. That allows someone working 30 billable hours a week to make about 100k a year after expenses. Thats about what he charged. The repair was less then an hour and he charged $264 but there was a part charge (<$100). I had another tech at another location resolve the same issue, add a pound of freon (about $25), and do an additional diagnostic on a another property 20 mins away and he only charged me $225. That, I consider to be a good price. He was responsive and set up a time with my tenant and was able to text. He was punctual and make himself available on weekend which I appreciate. Overall, the bad mark was because he didn't check with me before service. He said that he tried to call and text me, but I didn't have a voicemail, missed call, or text from him. I'd hire him again because he fixed the issue and the price wasn't ridiculous. I don't think he was out to screw me. I think was just worried he wasn't going to get paid after he invested in the time and the cost of the part. In the future, I would make it clear that I would be making the call on what I feel comfortable paying on any work he did without my authorization.

He tried to give me additional options instead of just replacing the unit, which I appreciated. It didn't feel like he was trying to push me or sell me on anything.

Went perfect on time efficient totally professional explanation of work. Included wash down of outside units. Checked units performance Freon levels etc. and replaced a weak capacitor.

Air conditioner was making loud noise and not really cooling the house. .Asked a friend at work if he knew anyone...told me he had A Guy Jason from J F Air and heat for his air conditioner and its running great.. Gave them a call and Jason was ther right after I got home.. Knew what was wrong right away with My Air conditioner and had it going in no time, verry perfectional... Excellent technician.Went out of his way to make sure everything else was ok with it... Had Him back in the fall for a tuneup on my furance... Thank you Mr Jason,kept my Family Cool in the summer & warm this winter.

Most professional and competent technician I have ever used. Identifies problems quickly and recommends the most cost effective solution at a great price then does high quality repair. I cannot imagine a better tech. The bonus is cost savings. I'm a long time customer and have had repeatedly excellent service for a great price and would highly recommend to others.
