All went well. On the day before, Rob had the city mark where there were cables, etc. to avoid. Although the original design was to dig a deeper trench to bury the long pipe (or whatever that's called) from the front of my townhome to the back, to avoid hitting those cables, they made the trench narrower and more shallow. They then added back some dirt and a layer of rocks and before covering it all up, they added length to the gutter drains and buried them in the trench. Rob also put down seed and hay and hopefully, the grass will grow back soon enough. We've had one hard rain since then and the wind moved some of the straw and perhaps the seed, so I'm anxious to see how this will work. With the gutters now buried and the french drain in, I'm sure it will solve the problem of the 3-4" of mud I had to drag my trash and recyling bins through to the curb.
Description of Work: Rob Ayscue and his team dug a french drain on the side of my town home which was always very muddy and wouldn't grow grass because the gutters on my home and my neighbor's home drained directly onto the side of my home. Rob first had to write a detailed plan of action and show a diagram of the project that I could show to the HOA who had to review and approve it. The approval came quickly and soon after, we scheduled the project.

Rob delivered the estimate promptly and it was very fair and compared well with others we received. We decided to use Triangle Reconstruction and are very pleased with how everything turned out. The crew arrived on Monday and started an extremely laborious excavation. They were friendly and worked very hard throughout, despite the heat and humidity of the week. On one of his visits to our house, Rob and the crew realized that an additional 7-10 feet of work would need to be done (estimate was based on price/ft.) and Rob offered to perform this extra work free of charge so as not to vary from the estimate. I cannot thank him enough for being the type of businessman that is willing to do that for customers. It is outstanding customer service and I wish you received that from everyone. The work comes with a 1-yr warranty and Rob was quick to make sure we knew to call him at the slightest sign of a problem. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or to recommend them to anyone! It's been 4 days and the basement is already noticeably dryer.
Description of Work: Rob and Eli came out to give me an estimate in moisture issues in the basement of my 1946 home. They were very friendly, knowledgeable, and clear in the explanation of the problems and the various solutions. They were sensitive to a need to do things in phases for budgeting and are going to be giving me an estimate with various combinations of work. I am really looking forward to receiving their estimate!

The tech was on time and professional. The scan was very detailed and provided us tons of information. He also repaired some weather stripping that was jammed at no cost. He was very helpful and wasn't pushy. The scan revealed that the majority of our issue is from lack of window treatments. We are not installing window treatments.

Triangle Reconstruction was excellent. They were the 3rd of 3 companies to give us an estimate. They, by far, were the most reasonable in price. At the appointment for estimate, the gentleman that came to give the estimate was extremely knowledgeable and told me exactly what I needed to do and what to avoid. He did not try to upsell, instead waited to tell me about crawlspace encapsulation only after I asked. They were punctual and professional, completing the work in 2 days. This included cleaning, encapsulation, and removal/disposal of insulation. I hardly knew they were there, but inspected the work after they finished and was very pleased. I would highly recommend Triangle Reconstruction to anyone with crawlspace issues.

Everything went very well! We gave them an aggressive deadline, and they beat it by several days at a very reasonable price. The structural engineer did a reinspection at the end and found a couple of small details which they quickly addressed, no questions asked. They showed us around the crawlspace at the end, pointing out the repairs that they made, and in a few cases took photos and video of the repairs for us and the structural engineer to use. Everyone we worked with was super friendly and very responsive to our questions. We will absolutely hire them again if we have need for a general contractor. I guess I just hit the jackpot with our first hire of a GC (with an assist from Angie's List), and I will wholeheartedly recommend them to family and friends. Great job!
Description of Work: Triangle Reconstruction repaired the foundation under our historic home based on a report from a structural engineer. This involved building or replacing several piers, fixing framing in several places, and touching up mortar throughout the crawlspace. They also fixed a roof leak, repaired some steps, and repainted our porch. We asked them to work with the structural engineer who wrote the original report.

The provider came as scheduled and did the service. It took a bit longer than we anticipated and I ran out of time to be able to thoroughly review the results. The provider did what he promised and was punctual. I'm not 100% sure this service is really worth it. Most of what he told us we knew about. There weren't any easy solutions to the energy leaking. He's a good guy, we just really ran out of time. You might want to allot several hours for this yourself to be sure you can review the results.

Nice individual and seemed conscious about his work. They completed the work they said they would but it didn't turn out to be much, especially for the cost. Really didn't help seal the windows at all so the money was somewhat waisted. Not the contractor's fault but be careful what you're buying.

Rob from Triangle Reconstruction was and is very attentive and responsive. He explained the issues he saw in the crawl space and what solution would be best for me. I made the choice of what work I wanted him to do. His men showed up on time. Work was done in a timely manner and completed as proposed. I'd suggest Triangle Reconstruction be considered highly for this type of work. Rob is knowledgeable and well informed on the work he did for me. Work was done clean, neat, very professional.

I purchased the Vapor Barrier Big Deal in late February. Initial contact with the provider was very prompt and an inspection was quickly set up. However, since the inspection the provider has been quite slow in answering email inquiries, and my last question about changing the scope of work was never answered. The correspondence I did get from the service provider was always polite and professional, but it seems that they have become too busy to deal with a smaller job such as mine.

Rob and Eli first came to assess my situation. They brought an infra ray device that detected all of my drafty areas and then some. They also suggested that to address the loss of heat from my attic, they could attach a special insulated foil cover for inside the ladder that would be closed off when the attic is closed and would be pushed aside when someone needed to go into the attic--something that I'd never attempt, thank you very much! I asked them if they could possibly fix the squeaky floor boards in a few areas of my town home and Rob gave me two estimates, the lower one of which I'll schedule them to do at a later date. They arrived promptly on the day of service and went about sealing up my windows and doors, installing that attic insulator, and assessing a few other problems I had mentioned, e.g. the cold air coming under my microwave installed in the wall over my stove. Turns out the outside screen/protector had a big rip in it and needs to be repaired. While in my crawl space plugging up a leak behind my living room sofa from a cable connection that I don't use, Eli discovered that there was water in my crawl space despite the fact that I have a very large dehumidifer and the floor has been protected by plastic that another company had installed quite a few years ago. My town home community is having a lot of problems with water drainage and my unit is particularly hard hit and is always very muddy. Rob and Eli described how old drainage pipes underground deteriorate over time (our community was built in 1986), so it may be time to replace those but the HOA would have to approve that. The HOA want us to add extensions to our current outside drainage pipes that pour water onto our yards but I don't see how that can help if they just dump water somewhere else. It would be great if Rob and Eli could help in that respect. To be continued! Rob and Eli are a great duo and I'm happy that their business is growing so much (with the help of Angie's List)! I would definitely recommend them any day! Rob and Eli and another helper came back to repair the holes in my foundation. Rob also measured the length of the side of my town home in order to make a diagram to sent to my HOA. I hope they decide to let him do the work since they won't take care of it since the whole side of my home is a muddy mess.

Rob and his partner came out and were prompt. He checked out my windows and explained to me that all my windows would be covered under the "Big Deal" that I had purchased. The Big Deal was to seal all my windows and doors. They also looked for other services they could provide. One of which was to put down vapor barrier in my crawl space. Originally, I was thinking I would do both but since this was right after Christmas I thought I would just do the window work first, since it was already paid for. They came out on time and put caulk on the windows - It's hard to explain where it actually went and I'm not convinced it really makes a difference. Before they left, I decided to check one room I was most concerned about - they hadn't done any of the windows. After I "reminded" them that they missed it, I decided I better check the rest of the windows. Some had blobs of caulk messes and some were just caulked a little here and there. Rob was very apologetic and spent time cleaning things up and filling in the gaps that were missed. I'm probably a little picky, but my experience is if someone is going to take short cuts that I can see, no telling what I may be missing in things I can't see. They didn't do a bad job, it just wasn't a GOOD job. I chalk it up to "You get what you pay for" and it was probably as much my fault as theirs. I was just glad I didn't have them do any other work. The work on my doors was fantastic. I had a gap I could see through and now it closes very nicely and is properly sealed. However, this month, I went to open a window and I'm not sure what happened but am unable to do so and pushing it up makes the wooden frame crack. Now I'm looking to replace a window. Rob is an extremely nice person and I'm sure most of his work is probably just fine but I did want to share my experience.

We have also asked them to give us a quote on additional work. They kept in touch with us because the weather was bad and we had to reschedule. Eric was the gentleman that initially came out.
