Description of Work: I reserved an appointment for services in october for december. No one showed up on the scheduled day of service. I did not get a phone call or email. I tried to contact them, but the phone number did not work. Finally, i was contacted through Angie's list email. I made arrangements twice after with this provider. Again, no communication and no workers. I wrote another email, because the telephone numbers were not working out. One number got me an answering service and the other got me an operator message that the number was not available. Michael emailed me. He replied that he was disappointed that the men were not here yet and that I could have an extra half an hour. My appointment today was for 1:00 pm. It is now after 5, i have not heard anything more from the company.

Description of Work: We had our outside deck painted. After a little confusion with scheduling the guys showed up and got right to work. They were polite and worked the full 8 hour day. (I mean until the very last minute). We had our double tiered deck painted and they did a very good job. They managed to get several coats of paint on the deck and it looks great. They are hard workers and I would use them again.

Description of Work: Mike was very responsive to my Big Deal Purchase and called me right away. We set a date for him to do the work, but we had to cancel two times because of rain. It was an outside staining project so it was the right thing to do to cancel the work. He was very responsive when we both decided to cancel the first two dates. On the date that we set to do the work it was a great day outside, but no one showed up. I called Mike and left a message, but did not get a call back until a week later. I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that there was some sort of issue that he was having that day he did not show. The project was pretty small, so I just decided to do it myself.

Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal from Michael's Work - $99 for four hours handyman service. We only needed a small section of siding re-attached to our roof, and to have three sets of blinds hung in our home. I actually felt bad hiring someone to do this work because it was so minor, but the projects have languished a bit so I thought hiring someone would be the easiest way to get the work done. I bought the deal, and the next day I received a message from the provider asking that I call him to schedule the work. We played phone and email tag for the next few days. When we did speak a few days later, he said that he could send 2 guys to do the work. We set up a time for them to arrive the following day. I made arrangements for someone to be home that day to let the workers in and show them what needed to be done. The appointment time came and went and the men did not show. When I called to ask what happened, Mike said that he mis-scheduled the appointment and planned to send the gentlemen to our home at a later time that week. I was willing to overlook that scheduling oversight, but I asked that he try to send someone that day if possible, because we'd made arrangements to have someone in our home at that time. He said he'd get back to me, and once again, the phone tag game started. Maybe he is just very busy - he seemed really nice when I did get to talk to him. But I decided to get my money refunded because it seems like using the handymen will be more of a hassle than simply doing the work ourselves this weekend.

Description of Work: Appointment scheduled for 4/19/13 provider did not show up and did not call me.I contacted him and he told me a story that he left a message on my answering machine since there were snow flurries that morning(there was no snow that morning) and there was no message on my answering machine. We rescheduled for 4/20/13 at 1:00p.m. On 4/20/13 he finally showed up at 2:25 p.m. He was here approximately 35 minutes (I did not hear him walking on roof at all or flushing downspouts) and he said the gutters were not clogged . I asked about flushing the downspouts and he said he doesn't normally do that but I read it stated on the big deal that was included. He did not flush downspouts and said he was done and left. It rained on 4/23 and the 2 downspouts I had originally pointed out to him were still completely clogged. I contacted provider again and he said he would come on 4/26/13 between 9am and 10am. Again, he was a no show and did not call me. I called him again and told him I was contacting Angie's List for a refund since he did not do the job I paid for and wasted several days of my time.

Description of Work: Mike and his crew did some additional handyman work. Mike was very nice, I would rate the overall work a B. The painter did not scrape the front door before painting,so so on the painting.The rest of the work was B caliber. Decent hard working folks.
