Mike was very good at follow-up with me to determine when I would be ready to have the work done to touch up baseboards, doors, stair rails, etc. after I had time to thoroughly clean them to determine what was grime and what needed to be touched up. His employees showed up on time, had a great attitude, wonderful customer service skills, made sure I was pleased with the results, upon my request retouched up areas a second time, instead of just touching up door spots, painted an entire door and the door frame to the garage to make it look nice. They were very aware of the cleanup process and made sure where it was ok to wash up brushes and dispose of the paint residue. The house looks really nice and clean and it is was more item to take off my to do list. Joe, his staff member, gave me a preliminary quote on repainting a few bedrooms and I make take that on in the fall. Very reasonable. Great job and I really appeciate all you did to help me with my home. Barb

+ 0 moreOverall things went fine and I would retain Michael's services in the future. He and his partner did a good job painting. He was on time and made accomodations when I had a family emergency. They were pleasant and very eager to please the customer. And the price was good. So kudos for those issues. As a caution I would advise that you have plenty of your own drop cloths. He protected the floor - mostly, but relied on my covering up counters, cabinets, etc. Also a written bid with all contingencies identified would be advisable.
Description of Work: Patch of kitchen ceiling, paint ceiling and paint kitchen, laundry room, hall bath and master bath.

At first we were in the process of making our decision on if we were going to have them come out to do all the work that we wanted to have done. Well we decided to have them first come out and start the smaller project in the bathroom just to see how good they were. Michael had sent one of his workers to come out. I called him at the last minute. He had told me that he could get the worker that I had previously met come out. He came out and did a terrific job. He covered the floor,covered the sink,and caulked the nail holes in a couple of different places.I really admire the guy for getting someone out here in that short of notice. We will be calling him back to do the rest soon for sure. Thanks to Angie's List.

Description of Work: they rescreened my porch for me. It was hard getting them out to my house. They cancelled and resecheduled, etc. When they did come out, however, they got the job done in the time alotted and did a very good job.

Michael came out, introduced himself and his workers, gave me his card, assessed the job, and gave me an estimate for the additional work needed. After he left, Calvin and Joe began the job of demolishing a small unfinished darkroom by taking out countertops and an unfinished sink. They left the room neat and clean. They then hauled the debris out to the curb for pickup to be taken away and disposed of. They also helped me move a large shelving unit and reinforced the backside so that it would be steady. Both men were very polite. Everyone showed up on time and left when their time was complete. The job was for !49.00 for 2 men at 4 hours each. The hauling away was for $50.00 of unlimited debris. Great job
Description of Work: The job included demolishing a small unfinished darkroom, by taking out countertops, their 2x4 supports, and an unfinished sink and hauling away the debris from the job, as well as other boxes.

+ -1 moreI contacted Michael's Work via email within a couple days of purchasing a "Big Deal" offer. This email and a subsequent one approximately 1 week later went unanswered. I followed up in approximately one more week via phone. My voicemail was returned within a few hours and the work was scheduled within a couple of days. The team arrived promptly when scheduled and the work was done quickly and thoroughly. One downspout was completely clogged, so this required additional payment above the "Big Deal" offer. The lower grades on Responsiveness and Professionalism are due to my emails which went unanswered. Once I spoke with someone in person, the experience was great.
Description of Work: gutters and downspouts cleared on 2-story house; one downspout was completely occluded, which was an additional cost

+ 1 moreI called those guys to come out but I told them that they could wait until I had more work to make it worth their while but they did not mind coming even though it wasn't much money .They were very understanding.They made that trim look good. They painted more trim and unclogged my sink. Hair was stuck in the sink.

+ -1 moreI'm sorry, please see above for my overall experience. I cannot comment on work performed because we did not have the work done.
Description of Work: I had a hard time scheduling the work I wanted to be done with Michaels Work, however that was mostly due to my own reasons. Every Time I called I either spoke to someone immediately or left a voice mail which was returned promptly. The Big Deal I purchased, was either 4 hours or 8hours of handyman service ( which I came to find out after purchasing and calling that this meant having two guys work for say 2 hrs=4 hrs of service). I have several jobs needing to be done, some I would need to have a handyman come give estimate on time, supplies I would need to have before doing work. This was where the communication became unclear. I could not seem to get this across to Michael or I was unable to understand what he was saying. All I know is I did not want to have his guys come out and use the time I paid for work to be done to evaluate the jobs needing completed. Michael was always very nice and courteous and sounded like things would be no problem, but I just did not get an overall professional feeling or that he was very organized. I do not say that to be insulting, that is just how I felt as a customer. I then looked over the reviews for his work and was pretty disappointed. I decided that my gut feelings were probably right and I would be better off not using his services. I wrote to Angie's List and received a refund.

They had him call me again. We discussed him doing work the following week. He was to call to set it up (weather permitting). Weather was great and I never heard from him. That was three weeks ago. I am getting my money back.

+ -1 moreIt did not go well since I have called Michael several times since and he still hasn't performed the service even though all the leaves have been down for over a month now.
Description of Work: I bought the deal that was for cleaning out our gutters on our house and I think it was for about $100. He came over to clean the gutters but forgot that I told him that I wanted the service to be performed later in the season after more leaves had fallen off the trees.

+ -1 moreThe job finally ended up getting completed, but not before many phone calls were made. I had an appointment already set, but I would continue to get phone calls from the company about setting up an appointment. Finally, the day that we had scheduled, nobody came. I called later that afternoon, but it was too late for them to come. They came the next day and said my roof was too high and they needed a different ladder (and would need to charge more than the Angie's List price). He was very nice and apologetic and gave me a lower price than what he normally would charge so I went ahead and had him complete the work. Although, I had to keep calling because nobody showed up the next day to complete the job. Finally, several days later, I was called back and the work was completed. Overall, the work crew was very nice and the gutters are cleaned well and I feel I got a fair price, but there was a lot of effort on our part to get them here to do the work.

+ -1 moreMike and Joe arrived promptly at 7:30 (they actually beat me to the property by a couple minutes) and we gave the condo a quick look over - they pointed out some areas that would require additional work, which I appreacited (I would like to know total costs before a project is started and not in the middle of the project or after the work has been completed). They painted all day (and in to the night - I stopped back over at 8 and they were still finishing the job). I was happy with their service and would hire them again.
Description of Work: I called Mike for help finishing a painting job on a condo that I was rehabing. I had already completed the trime painting and ceiling painted and needed someone who could quickly paint the interior walls before I had flooring guys come in to put in hardwoods.
