Michael's Work

He returned my call to schedule the appointment within an hour. The most recent time, he also repaired a section of gutter that had been damaged by a falling tree branch, at no extra charge. I was not at home when the work was done, but it was done on the day he said it would be. Clean-up was fine. I am really surprised by the several negative comments, as that was not my experience in 2012 or 2013.

I thought a few months down the road and my experience would not still bother me but I still think of the difficulty every time I open my front door and go get the mail. My initial review from this summer is below, I am also updating it with comments: UPDATES: We initially hired Mike and his team to come clean our gutters. They were alright thso we had booked them for some light painting and caulking. It turned out to be sloppy caulking job and his team dropped paint evreywhere (driveway, front walk, and front steps). I told Mike and he was very cool and said he would come power wash it for us and clean up the caulk. By this time, it had been about two weeks since he cleaned my gutters and it was obvious with the first rain that they had missed a downspout. I was super bummed when I reached out to Mike with at least 3 phone calls, several text messages and 7 emails to get him to return to complete his work on the downspout, to fix the sloppy caulking job and to powerwash my deck. His team had also borrowed my only decent paint brush and Mike kept promising to return it or buy me another. It was over a 6 weeks before he could complete all these details. He told me several times that he would come by that day or the next morning and then would no show. I can understand underestimating another job's complexity and calling to say he would be late or to set up another appointment but he never even reached out. I quickly learned to "schedule" him when I knew I'd be working from home. I was prompted to redo this post because my neighbor recently said he saw one of the workers pee in my side yard out his back window when we were getting the gutters cleaned. I'm disappointed because I did not authorize that use and have a bathroom available for emergencies as well as a McDonalds 2 blocks away. I realize I don't have the full story on this one but I was very embarrassed when my neighbor told me. I also don't have the full story here too but I was disturbed so its worth mentioning. Two of his his employees showed up about a month after they had initially worked on my gutters and told me unpleasant things about the circumstances of their leaving the crew and asked to trench my sump pump tube and trim some trees Mike had quoted but that I didn't end up having him perform due to the ordeal with the gutters and painting. I ended up hiring them because the price was drastically reduced and they did good work but the whole situation was weird. Will DEFINITELY NOT use Mike again. INITIAL REVIEW: Very fair price, personal and professional service. Mike and his team are here again today to do exterior door painting and caulking. Again, fair price, quick service. We have also received quotes from Mike for tree trimming and a drain system for our sump pump. Always knowledgeable and patient explaining the process. We will DEFINITELY use Mike again.

Let's see, besides punctuality issues, two of the three 'gentlemen' watched as the third did nearly all of the work while they stood in the shade watching. When they did attempt to try out 'their' gutter guards (actually available at Home Depot) there seemed to be some level of difficulty getting the item to fit. Once they thought they had it, they summoned my wife to attempt to upsell her on the guards. Additionally, my wife had to go behind the 'kid' (the one working) to verify the work was done correctly. After using our hoses to do the job she pointed out to him that there was barely a trickle of water coming out of the downspout. Fortunately after a period of time the blockage cleared and the water flowed. My question would be-why did she have to verify what he was supposed to be entrusted to do? This is Angie's list? I could do this poorly on my own!

Took a long time to get the gutter cleaning scheduled. Postponed several times for weather and then several more times for unknown reasons. Every time I spoke with Mike he did not seem to know who I was, even though we spoke about 2 times a week. Gutter cleaning job was about a B the rest was less so

Michael came with 2 workers to introduce himself and his workers. Left his staff to do 2 hrs of work per groupon . They worked very efficiently & did all the jobs I had for them. I am very pleased with them and have contracted with them to do some work on my deck at a future time.

It was an okay service, I would say it's stellar. It was hard know what they really did, they were in and out of the place so quickly. They were polite but for 75 bucks it was like, "Ten minutes, okay. I hope you did everything cause I don't know what you're supposed to do." It was timely, they were able to come out when I called them. For the amount we paid, I thought it might be a little more time. It seems to be a good price.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was okay. They missed cleaning some gutters and removing the gutter guard. They were a little late and they didn't call me.

In May when we had a ton of rain, the downspout of my 2 story house was clogged and the rain was just pouring over the gutters. I told the worker to just come as soon as possible, even though I was working. The next day it was done. I didn't see him or any mess or any evidence of his presence, except that the gutters and downspouts were working great. Perfectly simple.

Work was performed very promptly and was done well. Michael was very helpful and suggested other services that his company could perform.

Mike called me within 15 minutes of the purchase. We still need to make one purchase and we'll call him to have him come out and do the work.

Paints picked up by me and ready at location. Michaels' price does not help when the work is rushed and sloppy. Call backs for corrections were ignored for weeks until threat of reversal of payment. Multiple no-shows and ignored attempts at communication.

First time for me to use Michael's Work and I was using an Angie's Big Deal offer. Promptly contacted me and scheduled work for early Friday morning. Later sent email to reschedule for Friday afternoon, which was okay with me. Mike and his assistant (sorry I don't remember his name, but both introduced themselves to me and were very courteous) arrived around 11:30 am on Friday. I told them that I had Leafguards on my gutters, and did not need them to be removed, so they did not flush my downspouts. I was more concerned with the amount of leaf and pine needles debris that cumulates on my roof due to large trees in my yard. The work was completed quickly and in good order, However,I was a little disappointed with lack of clean-up on my patio and outdoor furniture, although front area was cleaned up. I may have slowed the process a bit as I asked Mike about other work I needed on exterior of home, and he gave me quote for that work. Also I felt that the work and the customer service provided by Mike was worth the price.

Mike responded to my inquiries about services promptly, coming out and getting me an estimate and talking the repairs over with me. I wasn't entirely sure the exact nature of the repairs I needed (I was having to go back and forth with the insurance company) but Mike was great and very adaptable with my changing needs! We revised what he was going to do for a me a couple of times and he was able to adjust his estimates each time. I also work about 50 hours a week, and he was ready and willing to work around that schedule so I could be here when he was doing the work. He replaced the dry rot exterior in three different places (including my second floor siding), painting the repairs to match the rest of the house. He also repaired some missing fascia and painted it to match as well. He went around the second floor siding and caulked any gaps I had forming in the panels too. While caulking, he also double checked my fascia so that I could be assured no more problems from the insurance company. I think he did a great job! Communicated well, kept to the scheduling he gave me, and in the end his estimate was dead on. I've already got plans to have him come back in a few months and do more work for me.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. They took care of the gutters but one of them is still overflowing. I have not had a chance to see why. I don't recall them ever getting up on the roof, even though part of the deal was supposed to be a roof inspection. I would not recommend them to anyone. They got here when they said.

I know this guy is struggling to rebuild his reputation and I am happy with the work that was performed. I was slightly dissatisfied that he was several hours late due to a mechanical issue with a vehicle. Calling to let me know what was happening would have been a much better idea than me having to call him to see if he was still coming. These things happen but it is still frustrating to take a shot on a guy who seems like he needs a second chance only to wind-up regretting the decision because of issues with timeliness and communication. Once he arrived he did exactly the work that we had discussed at the cost to which we had agreed. I have no qualms about recommending the work he does but caution prospective clients that his customer service approach requires patience.

I was contacted immediately after purchasing the service and an appointment was set up. No one was home when they came so I can't say much about their professionalism. 2 days after the service was performed the tree that hangs over the gutters dropped all the stuff that clogs the gutters to begin with so, I cannot judge what they did negatively because of the timing. Just wish I had waited another week.

Everything was done quickly and very well. Had several very heavy rains since the cleaning and there was absolutely no signs of blockage in the gutters. I would definitely call them again.

I did actually use Michael's Work, yes. He did the work, that was just fine. I guess the only issue I had is scheduling. I called him prior to purchasing the deal and was told that he would come out, I think it was like two days later, and he did not and I just never received a phone call and I tried calling him again and never got a response. I think scheduling was an issue initially but about a week and a half later he came out on his own and simply took care of the job, so it's got done. I think it was the lack of communication that kind of bothered me a little bit but other than that Michael's Work did a great job. I would recommend Michael's Work and like I said he did the job, and did a great job. He just cleaned the gutters basically.

Great. Teh service is well worth the cost and He stayed until the job was completed.

Michael and his assistant arrived on time and did a great job on replacing the faucets and patching the drywall holes. MIchael agreed to come back and finish replacing my light fixture. I made an appointment with Michael the next week and took off from work and waited for him and he didn't show up. I then made another appointment (at his recommendation) for the next Saturday to replace the light fixture, and he didn't show up. I gave him one more chance to show up on a Thursday or Friday after work at his convenience, and he didn't show up again. I wrote a not so stellar review on Angie's list due to the non-responsiveness and MIchael contacted me, and came out and finished the work. He also replace 2 other light fixtures for a reasonable price. I have updated the review to indicate that his work was good, and gave him a high mark for professionalism since he made it right. .

Michael was punctual and the price was competitive. Job looked very professional. No complaints. Would recommend him and will use him in the future.

I didn't like that at all. I wasn't pleased with their work. They just picked the wet leaves out of the gutter and thew them in the yard. I was there in the yard and they just left, they didn't say goodbye or anything. I'm definitely not satisfied with their work. I think the price was no bargain. I never had to call them, they called me.

They called within half an hour of purchasing the Big Deal and they came out the same day since they were already working in the area. They did a good job and cleaned up well, no mess was left.

The owner called me promptly after purchasing his service on Angie's List. He said he would clean my gutters the very next morning at the first house, and, come to our house a couple days later. He never showed. A couple days later, I called him, and he said he had emailed that he would come another time. I had given him my phone number and told him to call me if there were any issues, because, I am not in front of a computer on a daily basis. I had to hound him with several calls, and, then emails to come do the work. Many excuses, weather, not in the area that day, were given. When he came, I was home, but, no one came to let me know that they were there. I only found evidence of wet leaf clumps on the ground (not cleared away, as stated in the deal), so, guessed the work had been done. I would have expected a service provider would be proud of their work and want to relate to me what they found and what they did. Instead, they snuck away. The service also was to include a gutter inspection. I knew I had a downspout that was loose, but, it was never addressed. I purchased two of his Angie's List deals based on prior ratings and recommendations for our home, and, our old home we were putting on the market. For our house, it took a couple more weeks for him to get to it. Again, promises he'd come, but, no show. Then, the topper, was when he called my husband and asked which downspouts were needing to be flushed, because, I had told him, there was one, that looked clogged. If he was doing his job efficiently, I would think he would have checked that all the downspouts were clear. I had a different company out last fall to our house, who I saw how he was diligent to clean everywhere, and, will return to them in the future. I was very disappointed in his lack of professionalism.

I used their service last November or December. One person came and he did the entire 8 hours painting the trim. He came on time and did the job for contact. I'm good with the what they did. I don't have anything bad to say about them. I didn't take any additional service from them. The price they charge is reasonable.
